So I stopped collecting a little while before Jakks lost the license, mostly because I had completely lost interest with the product on TV. But I feel like the WWE is the best it's been in a long time now, and with renewed interest in the product comes renewed interest in the figures. I always felt like Mattel's figures looked amazing, so I'm excited to start collecting again. For now, I'm sticking with Basics for most current guys to keep things cheaper.
So I headed out to the nearest WalMart to see what they had. At a glance, it looked well stocked. But there were massive amounts of Basic Triple H's and Del Rio's, which was a shame. My eyes were also immediately drawn to these two guys:
Don't know why people feel the need to do this, but oh well. I suppose there could have been worse figures switched in.
So I was feeling pretty dissapointed by the trip, but I luckily I found two Battle Packs that had been on my checklist.
I love the PTP, so it was great to see their two-pack in-store. And while I know the Ryback vs. Mahal pack isn't current, I feel like they're both really great figures. Mahal surprised me the most, he almost looks like the best fig in the pack! So I left it at that, although I plan on visiting my nearest TRU the next time I go figure hunting. In all though, not a bad start.
