I just started collecting old wrestling VHS tapes. I got a collection off a local guy, but he's missing a few tapes each year.
I want to complete certain years, but I'd rather not over-pay for common ones, so is there a website or guide to find out prices? I'm not talking about blank VHS tapes that someone recorded a PPV or show, I'm just interested in the officially released VHS.
If not, I could probably compare recently sold prices on eBay, but those are often all over the place.
Thanks for the help, guys.

They are all early-to-mid 90's WWF PPVs, a few 'In Your House' and a handful of 'one-off' videos like Undertaker, Kurt Angle, The Rock and Stone Cold videos.
There are roughly 50 in the lot I purchased.

He only asked $30, but I told him they are worth more than that and I'll give him double that. I still feel like I got a deal and he got twice what he was asking.

Much respect for not taking the original price and running with it. Most people would have. I'd of probably took them for the 30. Lol

In reality, they probably weren't worth more than $30.. The 2000-2002 tapes, while fun to watch, have pretty much no value at all on VHS unfortunately. 1997 Royal Rumble, Summerslam 88, Wrestling World Tour (if it actually is that film inside and not Wrestling Fan Favorites. the casing of the tape may say World Tour too.. you'll know if it starts with Earthquake vs. Warrior, it's Fan Favorites), and Summerslam 1998 are probably the most valuable of the lot. World Tour 96 too, depending on the condition of the tape. VHS tapes as a whole are pretty valueless. Some Coliseum Videos retained value and collectors will sometimes pay way more than a tape is legitimately worth to complete their collection, but for the most part, they're not worth over $5-$10 each. Anything WWF Home Video (that's 1998ish on) is pretty much worthless. WWF Home Video had MUCH better distribution than Coliseum Video ever did and were a made to own tape, where as Coliseum were made to rent, which made them much more expensive to own. That's why non-rental Coliseums are worth so much more too, because Coliseum Videos often sold for upwards of $60 each.

I looked up a few of them on eBay and a couple sold for over $20. I never want to feel like I took advantage of someone in a deal. $30 for the lot would not have been fair IMO.

I think you over paid. To be honest I think most VHS tapes are worth no more than .25 cents. But if I was to buy a big lot of tapes like that I'd want a lower price.
But since you are a fan of the material you paid more money.

To me something is only worth as much as you are willing to pay for it.
Though a lot of those Attitude Era VHS tapes are pretty worthless, the fact remains you probably want to collect as many WWE VHS tapes as you possible can. Therefore to you, they are worth what you paid for them.
Well done!
I sold about 30 WWE VHS tapes a few years ago on kijiji for $30. I don't know if it was a fair price, or if I got ripped off, or if I ripped the buyer off, but all I know is that I wanted to get rid of them, the person wanted to buy them, so all in all, it seemed fine with me.
