Whenever I tell people I like wrestling they say this

I remember years ago having a few people say it to me, but really you eventually realize, it's usually people that just want to feel the need to look down on you if you're into wrestling, because they think it's stupid. And this topic made me think of this.

Well I'm not gonna drop out of high school just so I don't have to hear it...

My former friends used to make fun of me for watching it and keep saying "You know it's fake" and one of my friends said "They can't even talk great when it comes to speaking" most likely the dumbest thing I've heard. Have you not seen Barrett, Punk, Christian and etc. mic skills. I guess he watches too much South Park, I'm actually glad I'm no longer friends with any of them.

I'm starting to think that all pro sports are "fake". The way Tom Brady always finds a way to come back from a huge deficit is just too Cena like to be true.

I'm lucky enough to no longer have to face this issue and I have enough friends that dig wrestling and I don't really share my interest unless people ask, however if it naturally comes up in conversation I will bring it up. (like if someone asks what have I been watching). I'm lucky enough to work at a comic shop so my friends that work/shop there don't really judge for wrestling (cause the share in a "nerd" hobby). Most of my friends from childhood/high school liked wrestling so it's never been something I've hidden (even though they're not really into it anymore).

When people do (which is rare for me) bring up the "fake" thing I usually just say, "so? Breaking Bad is fake, Game of Thrones is fake, The Avengers are fake... Romeo and Juliet is fake. So what? Never compromises the enjoyment of the storytelling." I've also heard the "well it's because it plays at competition." my general response is so does every Sports film, but that doesn't stop you from being invested in the outcome... or Rocky winning an Oscar. Seeing people comment on the Brock matches where people say craplike, "He'd totally kill Punk if this crapwere real." Well no-ing-duh, but if you are watching wrestling with that in mind you are just wasting your time... and my time for having to read and respond to your moronic comments.
