The room had lights surrounding and had one particularly large mirror. It was designated as having a special gift as it could be shown to show the fate of those that stare into it. Not only does it do that, but also shows the past and as well as the present. ZMaster had walked into the room after having already just trained his mind more than anything. It was not to say he was out of shape but had been away from a ring that he had been prepared to return. A letter was there and he had picked it up and was addressed to him.
ZMaster: What is this?
ZMaster had gotten a letter that was sealed. It was addressed from WFWF Headquarters. He reads the letter completely and had been a bit perplexed. It was an invitation to return to WFWF to compete at Scars and Stripes and be one of the participants in the Battle Royal. The winner of it had been granted a chance to headline Super Brawl and have a shot at the WFWF Title. He had thought about it but showing no sign of emotion had begun speaking.
ZMaster: So it seems that the mirror was truthful that I would be summoned again. I didn’t believe it but now it seems that it shows that our fate cannot be controlled. It is already set in motion. That is the way it has been. The return to WFWF seems to be a matter of saying you are never going to fully retire. I had been gone and had been content but it seems that fate had called upon me to show up once again.
Reflections and memories had the past had flooded and had been looked upon the mirror. It was showing the match that he had competed at Scars and Stripes for the WFWF Championship as he was the reigning champion. He had fought but had come up short. The reaction that ZMaster had given to it had to be one of disappointment but could not be told as he had shown much in the way of expression. The following had seen a Battle Royal to compete to headline Super Brawl but failed to win. Again, disappointment had crept into the mind of old memories.
ZMaster: The return is at one of the major WFWF events being Scars and Stripes. It is the one event of the year where the winner of the Rumble itself can go on to headline Super Brawl and challenge for the WFWF World Heavyweight Championship. It is a match that has many competing in perhaps their only shot at going for the gold.
ZMaster took a breath and continued to speak and think about everything that had happened in particular with Scars and Stripes.
ZMaster: Seeing Scars and Stripes is about memories that had not gone so well. It was this event that I lost the WFWF World Title to one who is no longer in WFWF. It was a bittersweet moment and after fighting so long to obtain the title, I lost it just like that. I never did go for that rematch because at the time I thought I was done. I had thought my career was going to be ending but it was not the case. I figured on going for the Grand Slam and obtained it. Soon enough I would compete again in the Scars and Stripes Rumble. Going from one year as the champion to the next competing for a shot is a bit of a difference.
That event did not see victory once again and was the last time I competed in the Scars and Stripes event. It remained a black mark that I had not removed. I had been quite content until I had been called again. It can be a chance of redemption for myself as it will be, as the mirror shows, my final shot.
Keeping an emotionless expression, ZMaster had begun to stare at that one mirror that he had stared at before. It foretold that he would return to the ring but it continued to show a light that was like brightening up a room. He had been watching but had thoughts in his mind on what it would mean to become the winner of the Scars and Stripes Rumble.
ZMaster: Winning this means a golden ticket to Super Brawl to take down the WFWF Champion. Unlike other winners, my intentions are clear. I win this, I get the shot and I will not pass it like others had done.
ZMaster had his thoughts collected and walked away from the mirror. He began to think about everybody that had been given that ticket to compete at Scars and Stripes. Though there are many that are competing, he knows that in the end there can be only one winner. That winner got the right to go for the WFWF World Heavyweight Championship.
ZMaster: Everyone who stands in the way should realize that this is not personal. It’s strictly about competition. It’s about winning the match. All of you that are there had best be prepared as I’m in it to fight to not only remove my black mark but also obtain a greater prize in the end. It’s been a long time since I challenged for the title and it’s time it all ends. Failure is not an option. I know my fate, do you know yours?
ZMaster paused for a brief moment and then finished with his final thoughts on the matter at hand.
ZMaster: At Scars and Stripes, no matter who is in the way, I will go fighting and I will take this rumble. Is it truly the final chapter? The mirror is being stared at but the only way to find out is at ZMaster’s return at WFWF Scars and Stripes. The darkness had taken care of leaving everything in black.
