Hello everybody, I'm watching Spikes Star Wars marathon and as I'm watching it, I realized that there are quite a few characters who should've been given more time before they died. I'll start with Darth Maul. When I saw this guy, I thought he was awesome but I thought it sucked having him get chopped in half so soon. I thought he could've at least lasted until Attack of the Clones. Who do you guys feel should've been given more of a chance? Discuss.

Boba Fett.
I don't count Episodes 1-3 because they sucked so much ass and I don't care about any of them.

I don't watch a lot of Star Wars but I loved Darth Maul as a kid.

PJ, I've read the book about Boba and its true. He was saved by Dengar shortly after Jabbas' Sail Barge exploded.

Maul (although he was awesome even in death an dooku was a much better apprentice to sideous overall)
Both fetts, they should have had some good screen time and at least another big battle.
General Grievous (I loved this guy, he should have been show demolishing a hoard of Jedi or something)

When I first watched 1-3....all I could think of was "wow, Darth Maul and Jango Fett were nothing". They were taken out with ease. You'd think that Darth Maul especially would have been better than that. Greedo also was done wrong.
Also, was it so hard for at least one big name good guy to get killed? Minus Kenobi killing himself and Yoda dying of old age, there was nothing tragic. The Amidala death didn't even bother me cause you knew it was happening. Could we not get a horrific death out of Jar-Jar even?

Really? Greedo's death made perfect sence. He was a bounty hunter out to collect on Han's head. The deal was alive, but was willing to go straight to death ( although Han shot first ) This made even more sence when the movie was remastered in 1995 and Jabba appeared at Hans hanger on Mos Eisley. Han wanted out, knew he had just killed a henchmen/Bounty Hunter that was out for his bounty and runs into Jabba. However it also changed the story of Han, but thats a whole nother argument. Darth Maul is easily the number one answer. How can a Sith, who was hand chosen by Sidious/ Palpatine have died so easily , especially having not only two blades, but a challenge of a Jedi and a student? Darth Maul should have killed Qui Gon and ran, leaving Obi Wan to watch his mentor die. Maybe some more fighting in Episode 2, but a final show down between..... Yes.... YES..... A newley turned Sith Anakin Skywalker. But wait, theres more. Again, a three way dance. That horrible CGI love fest of a final battle between Anakin and Obi Wan would hae been better with a spitefull Sith who had been betrayed by Sidious for Anakin, and a Jedi, Obi Wan who he should have killed in Episode 1. How would it end? Simple, Anakin kills Maul, becoming Sith Lord, then NOT falling into lava, But Obi Wan splitting Anakin in half! Thus becoming Vader.... Half man, Half machine!!! Lose an arm too!

Kinda. I think it'd be cool to see him in another movie, but I also wanted to be original.

In all honesty I don't particularly like any of the Star Wars films, the acting in all 6 is generally beyond appalling (with a couple of exceptions) and the dialogue is just laughable, especially in the original trilogy. I did like the character Qui Gonn though, the end scene in the 1st that had Qui Gonn, Obi Wan and Darth Maul fighting was by FAR the best scene in any Star Wars movie.

I usually find you as a gret poster here. But after talking down on the Original Trilogy as laughable, changed my opinion. What did you not like about them? Keep in mind, I'm talking about before 1995.

Lucas himself has stated in interviews that he isn't good at writing dialogue. I think the original films have a much nicer feel and presence to them than the newer films, and I like the muppettyness of them (as opposed to all the CGI crap in the newer films, especially 2 and 3). Han Solo is fantastic in the OT. A lot of the other actors are hindered by poor dialogue. The Ewok scenes have always been some of my favourites too.

I really enjoyed this guy's ideas. Essentially, he would have had Darth Maul lived and serve as the main antagonist for Obi-Wan during the prequels. He still has Maul killing Quai-Gon but he escapes in order to make the next Obi-Won/Maul showdown that more intense.

In Episode IV when Vader was boarding the Tantive IV - the fourth rebel shouldn't have been killed, he had such a great story
