It hasn't been that bad, although from night if champions till now they've been pretty poor compared to the rest of the year.

I only ordered Wrestlemania this year and even that was a waste. The product is just awful. I can't remember the last PPV I ordered that wasn't Mania, the Rumble or SummerSlam. I've pretty much stopped watching altogether at the moment because it's just all so bad. I'll flip it on for a few minutes and try to keep up with what Bryan and Punk are up to, but beyond that it's just awful. I have absolutely zero desire to sit through anything because the entire product is at an all-time low. Cena and Orton? Triple H's continued burial of Punk, Bryan and Ziggler despite them being the most over stars in the company? Kane wearing a suit? All of it is just abysmal and the type of random booking you'd get playing WWE Universe mode in WWE 2K14. Just zero consistency whatsoever.

Seriously, people. I hope I'm wrong. Has there ever been a year that had so many tainted main events? Wishing I was a pro wrestling historian right now. Would love to know. In all my years of buying PPVS, I don't remember a year quite like this. 1999 Royal Rumble Main event 1: The Rock used a recording to steal an "I Quit" match win over Mankind. Main event 2: Mr McMahon won the Rumble under screwy circumstances. St Valentines Day Massacre Main event 1: The Rock and Mankind double KO finish. Main event 2: Stone Cold beat Mr McMahon in a cage match when Big Show interfered. Over The Edge Undertaker beat Stone Cold after a ref bump and McMahon fast-count. King of the Ring Main event 1: The McMahons beat Stone Cold in a ladder match because of the mysterious raised briefcase. Main event 2: Undertaker beat The Rock due to Triple H interference. Fully Loaded Main event 1: Triple H beat The Rock when Billy Gunn interfered. Main event 2: Stone Cold beat Undertaker in a first blood match after interference from Vince, Shane and X-Pac. No Mercy Triple H beat Stone Cold when The Rock interfered. Survivor Series Big Show won the title in a triple threat where he replaced the falsely advertised Stone Cold, who was written out on the night with a hit and run injury angle. Armageddon Triple H beat Vince McMahon when Stephanie interfered.

Say what you want about the PPVs this year but we have been given great matches from almost all of them so I don't care.
Punk/Rock II Elimination Chamber Punk/Taker Wrestlemania Lesnar/HHH II Wrestlemania Lesnar/HHH III Extreme Rules Cena/Ryback Extreme Rules CM Punk/Chris Jericho Payback Alberto Del Rio/Dolph Ziggler Payback Shield/Uso's Money in the Bank CM Punk/Brock Lesnar SummerSlam Daniel Bryan/John Cena SummerSlam Daniel Bryan/Randy Orton NOC Shield/Rhodes Brothers Battleground Shield/Rhodes Brothers/Uso's HIAC Shield&Real Americans/Rhodes Brothers&Uso's&Rey Mysterio Survivor Series
I loved all of those matches so I can't say I bated every ppv this year.

The Royal Rumble should have ended with Punk leaving with the title. lol There was more money in Rock chasing the title into EC than there was Rock defending that title. Giving Rock the title gave a lot people what they wanted to see right away and you knew Rock wasn't going to lose to Punk in a rematch. I genuinely think having Punk screw Rock, or somehow escaping with the title, even in defeat, would have resulted in more PPV buys at EC. Plus, Rock barely showed up and didn't work any other shows for WWE. He also didn't really start promoting WWE until the stretch from EC to Mania. So there was nothing to be gained by having Rock as champion during that stretch and it would have resulted in a bigger payoff.

So Rock wins the title at Elimination Chamber and Punk gets his rematch on Raw? Was never gonna happen. Rock worked multiple Raws and I think at least one Smackdown so he definitely worked other shows for WWE than the two PPVs. Is this just more "Rock doesn't do house shows, CM Punk is my favourite" style butthurt or what?

Come on, Summerslam was ing awesome. I enjoyed the Rumble, Elimination Chamber and Wrestlemania this year, all kinda predictable but really enjoyable to me. Extreme Rules was a lot of fun. Payback was an entertaining B-level PPV, Cena vs Ryback was decent enough considering I didn't give a for the feud overall. Money In The Bank & Summerslam were absolutely fantastic! After that it did go downhill, Night Of Champions was mediocre & the main event finish was baffling. Battleground shouldn't have even happened, a complete inconvenience. Hell In A Cell was decent enough, and it leaves Daniel Bryan with a legit gripe for them to put him back in the title hunt on the road to Wrestlemania, that's the way I've seen this going for months now. Survivor Series was completely mediocre. So in short, I enjoyed most of the PPVs right up until Summerslam & they became pretty dull & went downhill after that. But yeah, if you you're sick of blowing money on them...then don't. There is an "alternative" way to watch em.

WWE gives literally no reason for people to buy the PPV. Look at the Raw the night after Survivor Series. It had LITERALLY the same matches except the two main events were made into one match, and the one 5 on 5 match was split into two matches. Why should I pay to watch a show I will get to see for free 24 hours later? Their backwards booking is just ridiculous.

While I'll agree with the overabundance of dusty finishes, a majority of the events have had some quality matches, which is what I really care for when purchasing a PPV. Yeah I care more for the wrestling and the competition in the ring, than the ending or win/loss records. That's why I don't care about "OMG DOLPH ZIGGLER JOBBED TO SANDOW HEZ GOING TO BE RELEASED" or "WHY IS DANIEL BRYAN JOBBING OMG HE'S SO BURIED"

Feel sorry for you guys having to pay that much..
it costs me like £14.99 to watch it at home and i get it for a week playing constantly 24/7 for that price so i can catchup on it whenever i want.= with sky box office. But since i got sky+ i just record it once then watch it whenever.

Hell, this years WrestleMania had such a lackluster build.

It's why I miss the brand split, and the brand specific PPVs. Wrestlemania would happen, then the next Smackdown show would be like 2 months later. There wasn't so little time between each show for each brand. So the bad finishes could be less frequent. You got some time in between the rematches, so the feuds were developed longer. Add to that the fact that the midcard talent was more developed, the lower card characters needed to be worked with more, and the lower card feuds actually had a bit of bite to them, I just enjoyed things more.

If you choose to illegally stream PPVs online then your opinion of said PPV means nothing.

Triple H's continued burial of Punk, lolwut lolwut If you choose to illegally stream PPVs online then your opinion of said PPV means nothing. That's a fair point, actually. It's very dumb to illegally stream a PPV then start the " THIS COMPANY I HATE WWE WASTE OF MONEY" type threads.

That was actually the truth for a while, before WWE booked Ziggler like shit. I sympathize with OP's feelings about getting screwed. It has been an awful year for WWE PPVs. Fifty dollars later you feel like you got 10 dollars worth of entertainment. WWE strikes again, and I have all the confidence in the world that, despite TLC being the host to "the biggest match that the company has ever held" or some craplike that, that the buyrate for that PPV will be the worst of the year. I refuse to trust this company anymore in terms of PPVs, because it's ridiculous. Screwy finish after screwy finish that mean nothing.
