I stop collecting at the beginning of the year but it was because I was getting bored and lost interest. We also had another baby this year and I bought a house so there was no way I could have keep up with buying figures. Everything is so expensive now and I don't know how most of you guys be buying full sets.

Bills and responsibilities are for losers! Just ride it out. I bought all of Elite 25 yesterday and I've got a can of green beans and some noodles to survive on for the rest of the week. Man I hope this is a joke. To think somebody is starving themselves over Brodus and Sheamus repaints makes me sad.

well I'm used to insane prices as I'm living in Germany and prices here also went up so I decided to sell off my Elites and only collect Basics from now on. I've become very picky and only buy figures that I really like for example the WM Lesnar-Batista BP.

And I'm not 100% sure that Brodus is, I was looking at it in hand and the head seemed a little different, but I couldn't be bothered to dig out any older Brodus figures to check.

This was me about a month ago. Stressed to the max, unemployed and so many figures that I thought I was gonna miss out on. Thankfully somehow since then I've been able to find a steady job and get just about all of my wants ( funkadactlys are still messing with me) but yeah man I totally hear you out on this.

-- That's one of the things that's held me back from collecting the Mattel line and a good chunk of the Jakks line previously: The damn prices!
And since I don't watch WWE anymore, most of the guys out I have no clue as to who they are, but the legends and flashback figures are promising... but I dropped a good penny on the Cyber Mon early bird, so I could get the belts. As for the figures, still contomplating if I'm gonna keep them or resell them. That's the only positive about the price hike, as a reseller, I can make a buck or 2.
Other than that, I miss the days of going to Walmart or KB and finding figs for only $5. Yup, am old here too d-:

Obviously, figures are among the first things to get cut out.. but it sucks to be struggling right now... so much stuff I'd like to get ahold of. me at this time.

Indeed, I run a band as a small business.. and the economic downturn sucks for the entertainment industry across the board.. yah, sucks man, just wait till you have to worry about people DLing yuor tunes for free. My business is a cover band, so that's not as big a deal to me. I'm sure it would be if I relied on song sales for income.. but I have friends who are or play in/with bands and artists that you guys have heard of who STILL don't consider album/song sales a significant part of their income. It's hard REALLY hard for an artist to see a lot of profit on that side, unless they're releasing the music themselves.

I'm also lamenting not just the lack of wrestling figure money.. but the way the economy has been in general.. it's tough to make a living out there.

Think of it this way - the leading toy company in the world, who earn 10's of millions of dollars a YEAR would rather rise up prices to keep themselves happy then to lower it so we can collect, enjoy our hobby and possibly buy more... They don't care about you, they care only for your hard earned cash... Because they're greedy. I think , a little far fetched, but some of us should just stop buying and see how they feel when THEY get no money.. Do you work for someone ANYWHERE? If so, please ask that person to detail how much profit they get after all the daily bills get paid. If you don't, please go do some legitimate research before returning and stating more assumptions as facts. *edit* I don't post very often. Is the above statement considered feeding the trolls? And back on topic, yes, the economy is making everything difficult. Cutting back on everything is quickly becoming futile as costs keep rising. I'm beginning to wonder if things are going to swing back in the other direction.

the cruch has kinda been a blessing in disguise.......because I used to buy a lot of stuff that I didn't really want I reckon....if that makes any sense?
Im pared back now to the essentials and I enjoy that stuff(across the many brands I collect)a little more.Im still able to get what I want with ease though.....just takes a little more thought.
