Is it wrong that I read the title and laughed and then read the article and laughed some more?

It would be wrong but so funny if a shop was playing "it's raining men" as it happened.

If that's what it took to push him over the edge, then this guy had to be a bit nuts to begin with. I hate this mentality that everyone has that to be suicidal you have to be crazy. I have attempted suicide before, I have also been institutionalized due to depression, neither of which attest to my sanity. I have a chemical deficiency as well as a severe personality disorder which causes severe anxiety among other things. However, I also happen to be one of the most logical, fair people you will probably ever meet. (Especially on the internet.) Suicidal ideations are tough to live with. You want to die. You hold onto it like a toddler with a teddy bear. The thought of no longer being is comforting. You feel guilty about wanting to die, and that just makes the feeling worse. Chances are, you know people who feel this way, they just don't tell you because of the stigma that comes with it. The idea of dying isn't (always) to "end the pain" or whatever else you've heard. Especially in times of high stress, it can sometimes seem like the only thing that makes sense, which is a concept that is pretty much impossible to explain unless you've been there. Lumping someone with depression into the same category of Jeffery Dahmer (nuts) is not only highly offensive, but also helps contribute to the sufferer feeling ostracized, something they already are by feeling a way most can't understand. Sorry for hopping on my soapbox, but this whole stigma against depression really needs to stop. It's ignorant and it only worsens our pain. It would be wrong but so funny if a shop was playing "it's raining men" as it happened. I'd prefer Tom Petty's "Free Fallin'."

Um, I didn't mean to offend, and I wasn't saying anyone that's suicidal is crazy. I was saying this guy, jumping to his death because of his girlfriend's shopping spree had to mean he wasn't sane to begin with. I'm not lumping him with everyone that has suicidal feelings or depression.

I'm not lumping him with everyone that has suicidal feelings or depression. Yeah, sorry. I went a bit overboard there. But, my main point was that we don't know what else was going on in his life. That could've just been the final straw that got him there. He could've been suicidal already, and the stress and anxiety just became unbearable. I just think it's close-minded to judge without all the facts, and this time it just happened to be on a subject that struck a chord. Again, my apologies for going on that tangent. You really didn't deserve that.
