Who among the WF members are Jiu-Jitsu players, grapplers etc? I've been a grappler since the age of 7 & hope to be so until I finally have to roll with mortality.
Share your love of the grappling martial arts, favorite instructors, experiences etc. in this thread. Let's keep things quaint & civil boys & girls. Lqtm

I used to, I am thinking of getting back into it. Who do you train under? I am technically under a gentlemen named Frank Mullis of Serra BJJ, but am currently training independently for financial reasons. I work with him as often as possible, but I also have training partners from amateur wrestling, BJJ & judo from throughout the state. What do you enjoy about Jiu-Jitsu?

My brother is a brazilian jiu-jitsu instructor. May we hear the story of how he became an instructor? I'd loved to know where he teaches since I might have heard of him. That would be a magnificent coincidence.

That would be a magnificent coincidence. He has a gym in northeast Ohio, near Youngstown. He's not famous on a national scale or anything, but he has trained with some popular names. Most escape my memory at this time but I know he has met and worked out with some Gracie's before. He's only 24 and just graduated college. He started out doing MMA but his strength was always rolling in the gi. Even when we were growing up he was excellent at submissions. He had an arm bar at age 12 that made our 6'1" 240 lb cousin tap out. I'm not huge in the sport so my knowledge is limited. But he travels with his classes to many amateur tournaments and his school has a very impressive record at these events.

I didnt train for competition , I trained for self defense. I dunno what I like about it really. I just think it is the most useful of all the martial arts really.
