After seeing some shoots and reading some interviews over the years I have heard various wrestlers state what they were originally supposed to do at WrestleMania 23, but it all changed. How do you think the card would have played out if it went down like this and who do you think would have been added/won Money In The Bank?
John Cena v. Triple H - WWE Championship - Triple H said on Shawn Michaels DVD that he was to face Cena before he tore his quad and that HBK took his place.
The Undertaker v. Batista - World Heavyweight Championship - Same
Hulk Hogan v. The Big Show
Edge v. Randy Orton
Shawn Michaels v. King Booker - Booker stated in an interview that he was slated to face Shawn until the Hunter incident happened, I believe Shawn mentioned this somewhere too.
Ric Flair v. Mr. Kennedy - Flair stated in his shoot that he was supposed to wrestle Kennedy at 23
Money In The Bank
Other Same Matches That Would Have Potentially Happened
Chris Benoit v. MVP - US Championship
Ashley v. Melina - Women's Championship
Kane v. Great Khali
ECW Originals v. The New Breed
Bobby Lashley v. Umaga

That card would've been a lot better, although I really enjoyed Cena vs HBK. Was never a big fan of WM23 though...22 ans 24 were much better.

yeah,I remember the Triple H-Cena match being changed due to the injury. have a feeling that, had it happened,Trips would've walked out the Champ, considering he lost to Cena at 22.
Hogan - Bis Show was meant to be a homage, since it would be the 20th Anniversary of WrestleMania III in Detroit as well, and Hogan vs Andre. they figured they'd do the nostalgia match of Hogan vs the current giant. didn't Hogan get injured,or claim he was injured, right before they started announcing the matches?

Big Show wasn't even with the company during that time anyhow, so I doubt it would have happened. He didn't return until February of 2008.
If Triple H vs. Cena did happen, would he still be DX or Game Triple H?? I always found it weird how HBK came out at that Mania to the DX theme, and not Sexy Boy.

I believe Big Show was going to come back for that one night to do the match with Hogan as a favor to Hulk, but when Hogan wasn't going to have the match, Big Show wasn't either. They tried doing the match I think in Memphis, and it didn't draw very well.

So glad we didn't get stuck with ANOTHER sh*tty Triple H vs. John Cena match. I fell asleep during the first one and never did finish watching the damn thing.
I actually almost enjoyed John Cena vs. HBK.
I thought there were rumors about Hogan vs. Khali...maybe I'm wrong.

Hogan was still kinda with WWE at that point,so they wanted to do the nostalgia match, and were going to have Show come back for this feud (and maybe stay on afterwards?)... but once Hogan dropped out,Show decided not to return. they did indeed have this match like a month later down in Memphis

They could bill it as the match with no knees.

I thought there were rumors about Hogan vs. Khali...maybe I'm wrong. originally they were looking at Hogan with Donald Trump vs Khali with Vince McMahon for the Battle of the Billionaires match. then, regaining common sense, they decided against that, and were pushing the Hogan vs Show match.

I never liked cena vs hhh at wm22. Glad we didn't have to sit through it again. Hbk dragged a much better match out of cena than hhh ever could.

I remember there were rumors of Hogan vs Shane and Hogan vs Greg Valentine too...Not sure if it was for 23 though.

I believe Edge vs. Orton did end up happening on a Raw instead of WM 23 if I remember correctly.
For having all that star power in the MITB that year, it really did suck. Maybe it was the fact that Mr. Kennedy won it that made it suck. Never cared for his character. Edge winning it a 2nd time would have made more sense.

Hogan vs Big Show. Why would they do this? Seems a bit of a dumb idea imo. Unless it was meant to be like a revenge match for Show when he was the Giant in the NWO or something.

WM 23 is one of my least favorite WMs in the last 10 years. WM generally isn't even that great of a PPV in my opinion. Of course each PPV has good matches but for the most part I don't think they end up as good as they could have been.
The changes that WM 23 could have had would have been overall for the better imo but Cena/HHH < Cena/HBK so weakening the main event is not a smart thing to do..

I presume HHH would have went over then?makes sense since he did the job via tapout the year before.
