Why Edge and Orton didn't have a singles match and got thrown into MITB is beyond me. Sure they were both heels, but I think the crowd would have enjoyed watching them beat the crap out of each other.

I'm so glad that HBK/Cena happened and not Triple H/Cena as I found the first one to be really boring. After Taker/Tista had the match they had it's easy to say they should of went on last even though I stand by HBK/Cena being better. Pat Patterson once said on the legends of wrestling round table that going into WrestleMania 23 many were worried Batista wouldn't be able to keep up with Taker. Batista use to get really blown up when he had matches longer than 10-12 minutes so I can understand why they chose to put HBK/Cena last.

I can understand not wanting Heel vs. Heel in the ME, but as an undercard match with probably the 2 hottest heels in the company I was really surprised they didn't go for it. Could've been great and really unpredictable. |

Edge vs Orton in 2007 would have been the perfect case of doing a heel vs heel match. It would have made a awesome Mania even more awesome.

Perhaps they feared a Lesnar-Goldberg-esque scene of booing, even if it was for storyline rather than backstage reasons. When was the last time they did a heel-heel WM match? |

The only thing about that though, is I think that was a MITB Qualifier match, so that wouldn't be the injury that sent him into the match on second thought. |
