WWF 2001: A DIFFERENT ODYSSEY In the year 2001 the professional wrestling world was on the verge of changing forver. The World Wrestling Federation was stronger than ever despite a slight drop in the latter half of 2000, while its two main competitors, World Championship Wrestling and Extreme Championship Wrestling, were both struggling to survive. In the early months of 2001, ECW finally cropped out of the picture, and WCW looked like it would be next as AOL-Time Warner announced they were selling the company. Former WCW president Eric Bischoff emerged as the front runner to purchase the company, but WWF owner & chairman Vince McMahon wanted to throw his hat into the race as well, not wanting to pass up a chance to finally put his main competitor out of business. As January went into February and March, Bischoff managed to bring together a group of investors and the newly formed Fusinet Media Ventures worked to make their purchase of WCW happen. However they would encounter roadblocks which, by mid-March, almost cleared the way for Vince to finally snap up his competitior... ...however an 11th hour reprieve saved Bischoff's bid, and on March 19th, 2001, Fusinet was able to complete the purchase of WCW, ensuring that company's continued existence, at least for the time being. Having been foiled in his attempt to buy his competitor, Vince nonetheless turned his attention toward guiding the WWF through Wrestlemania and beyond...

WWF HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Kane def. Raven © & The Big Show to win the title
WWF EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Eddie Guerrero def. Test © to win the title

WWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Stone Cold Steve Austin def. The Rock © to win the title
Match happens as it did in real life except for the slightly different ending; Rock had just hit the spinebuster and the People's Elbow then covered Austin but the referee was distracted by Vince McMahon, who had come out moments earlier. So Rock got up and chased Vince around the ring and into the ring when Austin catches him with his own Rock Bottom for a two count. Vince then slid a chair in the ring for one of the two men when Rock grabbed at him but Austin took the chair and whacked Rock from behind then nailed him with the Stunner and got the 1..2..3! (Yes, the whole chair overkill never happened here). Austin then celebrated with the title as Vince looked on from the outside, with everyone wondering what his intentions were.

Good to see you doing another 2001 diary. I enjoyed your previous work, but the InVasion Angle made the roster far too big and confusing to follow. Plus I imagine that you've improved your booking style from then, and I was quite impressed with your work. Just try not to go overboard with title changes and signees and you should be good to go. Also beware of the MASSIVE roster of star power that often kills these diaries early.

I was literally thinking "Where did AKing go?" just yesterday when looking through my PM box. Good to see you back and with a similar, yet different diary idea. I look forward to seeing if you have improved since we last saw your work.

April 2, 2001 | Ft. Worth, TX
Raw comes on the air with stills of last night's WWF Championship match, including Steve Austin's win and Vince McMahon's puzzling involvement. After the intro Jim Ross and Paul Heyman welcome us to the show and buzz about having a new WWF Champion while asking about Vince's intentions during the match.
{IN-RING}
The show kicks off with the new WWF Champion himself making his way to the ring to a huge ovation from the fans. Austin does his posing in the ring and grabs a mic but before he says a word The Rock makes his way to the ring. The two have a tense staredown when Austin raises the title belt over his head, all but saying "look who has the belt now" while Rock glares back at him. Eventually Rock gets on the mic and says that normally he's man enough to admit when he's been beaten by the better man but that won't be the case here. Rock gives Austin credit for pulling out all the stops and showing how much he wanted to win the title, even if it means selling his soul to the devil. Austin seems perplexed by that remark as Rock mentions Vince coming out during their match and involving himself, distracting the referee when he had Austin covered and supplying a chair that Austin just happened to use to get the pin. Rock says it may have been an accident, that Vince may have had other ideas, or maybe Austin may have very well made a deal with Vince to win the title, so he demands Austin say right here, right now, whether or not he sold out to Vince McMahon.
After a brief pause Austin tells Rock that he has a few things of his own to say first concerning Rock's accusations. Austin says that yes, he was willing to pull out all the stops to win the title, but wonders if Rock wouldn't have done the same thing in his shoes, especially where his spot at the top of the mountain is concerned. Austin asks if maybe Rock wouldn't have used the chair on him regardless of where it came from. In fact Austin points out Vince had helped Rock out before, but Rock cuts him off and demands he answer the question regarding him and Vince, emphasizing that there's only two possible answers, yes or no.
Now Vince McMahon makes his way to the stage to add in his two cents. Vince says by all rights he shouldn’t be smiling since his own son Shane pinned him last night after Trish Stratus slapped him in the face, his wife Linda got out of her wheelchair and kicked him below the belt, Mick Foley hammered him “without provication” and Shane dropkicked a trash can into his head. However Vince says all of that got washed away by the thrill of seeing the two biggest names in the WWF battling tooth and nail on the biggest stage of the year for the biggest prize in sports entertainment! Vince says he's proud to see Austin finally take his place at the top of the ladder while accusing Rock of being a sore loser with all of his accusations. Vince also says Austin does have a point, that maybe he was out there to help Rock and Rock ended up blowing it. Rock again demands some answers for what happened last night and tells Austin he's going to get them, one way or another. Austin feels Rock is asking for another go-around with him and offers to give him his wish tonight so he can get his answers. Vince also feels Rock is itching for a chance at a rematch, and he decides to grant his request tonight! However Vince points out this match with Austin will be a non-title match, feeling Rock has to first earn the right to have the title on the line. Rock says that's fine, because the truth will be revealed tonight, if you smell what he's cooking. Vince then heads out while Austin and Rock continue to stare at each other.

The two then have a staredown when Vince presents the belt to Austin, who takes it and shakes Vince's hand. Vince then raises Austin's arm, confirming that Austin has indeed sold out to Vince McMahon! Austin demands his beer be tossed in the ring then offers Vince one and the two share a toast over Rock's fallen form and JR is going bonkers, asking why this is happening as the show fades to black.

liked the booking, glad to see Mcmahon make Austin and The Rock have a match without the WWF Championship on the line just a non-title match, great win for Crash retaining the Light Heavyweight Title over Taka Michinoku, also a match between Test and Saturn seems fair, Rhyno gets a huge win over Al Snow, well Al can go back to being on the jobber list, I'm really intrigued with the Hardys becoming the WWF Tag Team Champions, i don't think Edge and Christian should have the belts on this diary, The Radicals absolutely show Test no mercy, now I'm assuming this is the same angle where Benoit helps Jericho against Angle and Regal, Kane retains his Hardcore Title over RTC Member Val Venis, I see Kane holding on to the Hardcore Title for a very period of time, because he had that title for 3 and a half weeks until he lost it to Rhyno, i hope Kane stays Hardcore Champion til the summer, X-Factor gets one over Billy Gunn as well, this is the same diary but I'm okay with it and then we got Austin and The Rock, not for the title, but I'm really glad that this didn't happen at WrestleMania, Austin beats Rock a few times with a chair and then joins up with Vince, this is very really odd to have Austin and Vince unite the night after, at least it wasn't in your same diary at WrestleMania, i hope we see Austin vs The Rock at Backlash, but Triple H confronting Mcmahon, maybe he will be put in the list, and it will be a potential triple threat match we should've seen at Survivor Series before Austin got ran over with the car, this diary's got some good potential, i'll keep my eyes on it,

April 5, 2001 | Oklahoma City, OKSmackdown comes on the air with stills of the shocking events from Raw, including Steve Austin and Vince McMahon revealing their new alliance. We then get footage from earlier today of Vince walking into the building but running into Triple H, who says he has some questions for him and wants some answers. Triple H asks Vince about what he saw on Raw, him and Austin shaking hands, before asking what he's thinking. Triple H mentions he spent the better part of the year trying to end Austin's career for the both of them only for Vince to make an alliance behind his back and wants to know why he was kept in the dark. Vince tells Triple H it simply wasn't his business, but everybody will get their answers when Austin addresses the public. Vince also claims Austin came to him for help and won his match at Wrestlemania while Triple H didn't seek his assistance and lost his match with The Undertaker. Triple H demands a rematch with Taker to prove him wrong but Vince first wants Triple H to show that he can become what Austin already is, a winner. Vince walks off while Triple H kicks a nearby chair in anger. We then go to the intro as Michael Cole and Tazz welcome us to the show and add their thoughts on the shocking developments from Raw before saying Austin is due to address the fans later on and he has a lot of explaning to do. Cole also announces some of tonight's action, including Chris Benoit going one-on-one with the WWF Commissioner himself, William Regal, while Chris Jericho defends the Intercontinental Title against Kurt Angle. {IN-RING} Edge & Christian make their way to the ring for the opening bout but first Christian gets on the mic to give a shotout to their fans in 'Okie-Dokie City' before proclaiming their match tonight the first step in righting a terrible wrong at Wrestlemania. Edge says everyone knows they're the master of the ladder matches and there's no way the Hardys should have beaten them. Edge says that until the WWF Tag Team Titles are where they should belong, there'll be no five-second poses. = MATCH #1 = Edge & Christian def. Grandmaster Sexay & Steve Blackman --------------------------------Blackman and Edge look to start off as Sexay tires to fire up the crowd by clapping. Blackman doesn't seem to appreciate it but that allows Edge to get in the first shots. Edge goes for a whip but Blackman reverses it then leapfrogs over him and chops him down. Blackman hits a clothesline and goes for a whip but Edge reverses it and Christian snaps his head on the top rope before Edge follows up with a spinning heelkick. Christian tags in and helps Edge whip Blackman and hit a double flapjack before taking over on him. Christian whips Blackman but Blackman rolls under a clothesline and hits a flying shouldertackle. Sexay tags in and helps Blackman make a wish with Christian's legs then stops to bust out some moves. Sexay lays the boots to Christian then goes for a whip, Christian reverses him into a corner but eats a boot then Sexay hops to the middle rope and hits a missile dropkick for a two count. Sexay slaps on a headlock but Christian shoves him into a right hand from Edge before hitting a dropkick from behind. Edge tags in and whips Sexay into a corner then drops down allowing Christian to hit the springboard crossbody. Blackman comes in and goes for a whip but Edge reverses it and E&C hit a double hiptoss. Christian gets the tag and stomps Sexay down in a corner then whips him but Sexay slides under him and hits an enzuigiri. Blackman gets the tag and suplexes Christian then goes for a whip, Christian reverses but Blackman comes back with the pump kick. Blackman climbs to the top rope but Edge crotches him on the turnbuckle then he and Christian hit the stack superplex. Sexay is in and tries to take it to both men then sets Edge up for a bulldog but Edge shoves him into Christian who hits the Unprettier for the pin.{BACKSTAGE}Steve Austin is shown backstage admiring his WWF Championship belt before making his way to the ring. Cole says we'll hear from Austin and hopefully they'll get some answers next! (COMMERCIAL BREAK) {IN-RING} Vince McMahon makes his way out to the ring and gets on the mic talking about how history is filled with stories of feuds and wars. Vince says how feuds get started between two people and often can go on for years, but at some point both sides realize there's no reason to fight anymore. Vince says that's what's happened recently in the WWF as a man he's had a famed feud with has finally seen the light and embraced his vision of the WWF going forward. On that note Vince gives a special intro for the new WWF Champion, Stone Cold Steve Austin! Austin comes out to a new theme and a mixed reaction and does his posing on the turnbuckles before turning his attention to Vince. Austin first says how he and Vince are standing in the ring and how he has the WWF Championship before asking the fans if they want him to beat Vince down right now. The crowd responds in the affirmitive but Austin laughs and says it's not going to happen tonight or ever again. Austin says ever since Raw, everywhere he's gone the fans have been wanting an explanation, constantly calling out "Why, Stone Cold, Why?" Austin says he owes the fans nothing, that all he's going to say is that he does what he needs to do to get ahead and doesn't care what anyone thinks about it. Austin says he was looking to regain what he lost after being ran over by a car and had a chance to complete the biggest comeback in WWF history by finally reclaiming the WWF Championship in his own backyard. Austin says he wanted to ensure that he didn't leave Houston a loser, and the best way to do that is with an insurance policy. Austin says the fans cheered his big moment that night but when his secret was out, they suddenly turned on him, which told him that the fans didn't care about him being WWF Champion again, as long as he constantly fulfilled their wishes and got to ride on his coattails. Austin remdinds the fans of his mantra of DTA: Don't Trust Anyone, and it's the fans' fault for trusting him to be their hero when he never wanted to be their hero. Austin says having 'Mr. McMahon' as an ally instead of an enemy paid off and now he's the WWF Champion once again and nobody can say any different. At the point The Rock makes his way out to the stage to offer a response, saying what Austin just said sounds like the biggest pile of monkey (*bleep*) he's ever seen. Rock says Austin asked Vince to help him because he knew he couldn't beat him. Rock mentions how after the hit-and-run, Austin was gone while he took his place as the top man in the WWF, that he was electrifying the people and getting it done left and right against everyohne imaginable. Rock says when Austin came back he was jealous and realized he lost a step in his long absence after the hit-and-run, that he knew he didn't have it in him to dethrone him as WWF Champion without that insurance policy. Rock says he could care less about why Austin sided with Vince, all he knows is Austin has something that belongs to him, and that something is the WWF Championship. Rock demands Vince give him a title rematch but Vince tells Rock he's in no position to demand anything, much less a shot at the WWF Champion. Vince calls Rock a Wrestlemania loser, and because of that he needs to earn his rematch. Vince says Rock can start tonight when he takes on someone else who couldn't get it done at Wrestlemania, Triple H! Rock says that's fine, he'll he happy to lay the Smackdown on Triple H, but promises Austin he'll be coming after him soon enough and will be WWF Champion again, if you smell what he's cookin'. We then cut backstage and get various reactions of the other wrestlers watching a montior, especially Triple H who doesn't look too thrilled. Dean Malenko then says he'll especially enjoying beating Crash up after he and his 'floozy cousin' stole his belt from him. UJG's Smackdown Review:
Great start with Triple H wanting answers from the Boss about him and Stone Cold Steve Austin, I hope it doesn't include Triple H joining the group, and then demanding a re-match with The Undertaker, so something tells me this Undertaker/HHH feud ain't over by a long shot, Edge and Christian are very upset about not winning the WWE Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania and I wouldn't blame them, but a win over Grandmaster Sexay and Steve Blackman sets them up for a tag team title match against The Hardys, Hoping that happens at Backlash, great heel promo by Austin to get him over until The Rock comes out and demands a re-match, but Vince makes Rock vs Triple H, But surprisingly it ain't for the #1 Contendership for the WWF Championship, great win for Raven over K-Kwik, I look for Raven to jump up into the mid-card and go into the Intercontinental Championship Hunt, good idea booking a six-man tag between Test and The Hollys vs The Radicals, good Benoit/Regal match with Benoit winning by DQ, but of course Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho both run out, great squash match for Undertaker and Kane against the RTC. They certainly censored the Right to Censor, but the ending with Triple H showing up to try to attack Taker tells me that this feud is not ending between them, ha ha Wee Wee Regal, that's got a nice ring to it with what Jericho said, great victory for Test and The Hollys against The Radicals, Test is not done with Eddie Guerrero, here's hoping he gets another European Title Match with Eddie, I'm interested about this Jericho/Benoit friendship against Regal and Angle, maybe there could be a fatal-four way match for the Intercontinental Championship on down the line, good Rock interview and he worded it very well, him and Triple H's fights are the stuff of legends and it's happening again, hmmm, Stephanie and Trish in a Strap Match, one of these ladies can't stand each other but I hope it's Trish that gets the win over Stephanie, maybe Trish will be put in the Women's Championship picture against the Woman who's clearly holding it and that's Chyna, alright, the Main Event with The Rock and Triple H. Great match until Stone Cold comes out and goes after The Rock. Meaning an alliance between Austin and Triple H is about to come to fruition until The Undertaker shows up to try to get some of Triple H, but Triple H and Stone Cold eventually stand tall against The Rock and The Undertaker, so I'm hoping we have a fatal-four way match at Backlash for the WWF Championship, I can see that happening, looking forward for more of these storylines in the weeks to come,

Before I cam to this board I did a WCW 2000 series for an audience of one so when I joined this board, I wanted to do something different and the two options that were interesting me were a TNA series from day one and doing a WWE series if the from after Mania17 and like you working on the fact that WWE never brought WCW.
In the end the TNA diary won out but I will be interested to see where you take this diary, you are definitely interested in this time period because your previous diary was booking the inVasion.
Quick thoughts on your show are first off the look of your two diaries are too similar and with the fact you are using many of the same talent its' too much the same I would prefer if it looked a little different but that's your discretion.
The Rock only worked the Raw following Mania then disappeared for a few months to work on The Mummy if I remember rightly.
Austin turning heel at Mania was a big mistake one that even he admits, you decided to turn Austin heel too which is fine but if you are going to do it I would have done it at Mania also. Mania is the biggest show of the year don't book for the T.V audience.
Everyone has their preference when it comes to match layout and I am of the opinion you only need to tell me the winner and if anything significant happens during the match. The longer layout is fine and more than most would prefer it that way but I only really skim through the match.
Going forward it seems we may get a Mania rematches between Austin/Rock, HHH/Taker while also building up some drama between Austin & HHH. Plus you have the Benoit/Jericho - Angle/Regal story going which would be fun and back in 01 wasn't as good as it should have been.
Overall your shows were a good starting point I look forward to see where you take it because booking WWE in 2001 without WCW is a difficult task, one which I couldn't dedicate anytime too so good luck and I will keep reading and sharing my feedback.

In the end the TNA diary won out but I will be interested to see where you take this diary, you are definitely interested in this time period because your previous diary was booking the inVasion. Thanks. I've tried doing the InVasion several times, redoing it several times, but every time it burned me out just a few 'months' in trying to balance out all the talent and storylines and such. I'm always fascinated by the WWF in 2001, how they had many times to make new main eventers but failed on all accounts and were eventually forced to give Brock Lesnar the uberpush as a last resort. One thing is I've seen plenty of WWF 2001 rebookings and just about every one had WCW involved. I've never seen anyone do a 2001 diary that didn't involve the InVasion somehow and figured that would be the perfect one for me, where the WWF had to rely on the talent they had, like Jericho and Benoit and the Hardys. That doesn't mean some former WCW talent just might show up down the road, though... The Rock only worked the Raw following Mania then disappeared for a few months to work on The Mummy if I remember rightly. I know, but I don't want Rock to just suddenly be gone after Wrestlemania like he was in real life, without any real babyfaces to fill the void. I'm hoping to build a 'next man up' deal, transitioning from the Rock to any new major babyface that rises up. Austin turning heel at Mania was a big mistake one that even he admits, you decided to turn Austin heel too which is fine but if you are going to do it I would have done it at Mania also. Mania is the biggest show of the year don't book for the T.V audience. I want to do a different take on heel Austin. The problem isn't just the lack of a strong babyface but the fact that Austin was suddenly a neutered cowardly heel, which was against his character. Plus if you remember the Mania match Austin turned heel but everyone still cheered, which is why I waited until the following night to do the reveal. Everyone has their preference when it comes to match layout and I am of the opinion you only need to tell me the winner and if anything significant happens during the match. The longer layout is fine and more than most would prefer it that way but I only really skim through the match. Yeah, I realize that. I just can't help but go into details about the matches. I'll try to find a balance for the TV shows. PPVs will have detailed matches, though. Going forward it seems we may get a Mania rematches between Austin/Rock, HHH/Taker while also building up some drama between Austin & HHH. Plus you have the Benoit/Jericho - Angle/Regal story going which would be fun and back in 01 wasn't as good as it should have been.

Someone's got to take the challenge if it's ever going to happen. Hopefully I don't disappoint.

It's going to be really interesting to see what you do since you aren't booking the Invasion if I'm right? That's going to leave a big gap in which you get to completely re write history so that should be really fun. At least the roster won't be packed with people but I do hope you get some of the WCW stars onto the roster in someway!
The shows are looking solid at the moment and I like the booking. The feud that's building between Stone Cold, Rock, HHH and Take is looking good and I'm guessing that a fatal four way match could be on the cards for Backlash. I'm liking the Raven destruction path and surely he must challenge for the Hardcore Title again soon or get himself into trouble by picking on the wrong person. Another good rivalry featuring 4 good superstars again this time Regal, Angle, Jericho and Benoit. Glad Jericho retained wouldn't have liked it if he had lost it unless it was in a controversial fashion. Great 6 man tag team match as well would say it is an upset with Crash, Hardcore and Test winning in my eyes. Solid showing love this time period and really looking forward to where you go with this.

I agree with Generic Jobber, I see a potential fatal-four way match for the WWF Title, but I hope you don't do two-fatal four way matches with Jericho vs Angle vs Regal vs Benoit,

NOTE: I'm trying a slightly tweaked format for this episode and seeing if everyone prefers that.April 9, 2001 | Boston, MARaw comes on the air with a recap of the previous week's events including Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H and The Undertaker. Jim Ross and Paul Heyman then welcome us to the show and announce two hhuge tag team main events have been signed. Tonight Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho will be forced to team up against Kurt Angle and the WWF Commissioner himself, William Regal, plus The Rock and The Undertaker will do battle with Triple H and the WWF Champion, Stone Cold Steve Austin. Heyman wonders how Triple H and Austin will possibly work together given their recent history. = MATCH #1 = WWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH The Hardy Boyz © def. The Acolytes --------------------------------JR mentions how both teams were succesful at Wrestelmania as clips are shown of their respective wins. The Hardys are able to keep the Acolytes off balance in the early going with their quick moves but Bradshaw and Faarooq are eventually able to assert themselves. After a back-and-forth battle the rest of the way Jeff Hardy is able to score the pin on Bradshaw with the Swanton Bomb off the top rope.{BACKSTAGE} The Helmsleys are meeting with Vince McMahon and William Regal, with Regal assuring Stephanie there's no way Trish Stratus can get out of the whipping match. Stephanie says she's going to give Trish the lesson of a lifetime, not just for helself but also for her father, which Vince appreciates. Triple H then tells Vince that he has no problem taking on The Rock and The Undertaker and will make sure Taker's brother Kane isn't part of the equation but wants to know why he has to team with Steve Austin, after he got involved in his match on Smackdown. Vince says he and Austin have a vision and he wants Triple H to be a part of it. Triple H is taken aback but Vince explains how Austin has seen the light so he feels they don't have any reason to fight anymore. Vince says how he can see Triple H and Austin coming together as the most dominant force in the WWF, one that'll lead the WWF into the future and beyond. Triple H shakes his head and walks off with Stephanie while Vince tells Regal that Triple H will come along soon enough. (COMMERCIAL BREAK){BACKSTAGE}Spike Dudley is walking somewhere when he runs into X-Pac and his pals, with Justin Credible asking Spike if he feels like a big man after getting that fluke win last night after his brothers got involved. X-Pac says all the Dudleys are alike, a bunch of inbred hicks who think they're something special when they're loser. Almost on cue Bubba and D'Von walk in asking X-Pac to tell that to their faces, with X-Pac pointing out how they don't have the tag team titles anymore and besides, they wouldn't understand his words. Bubba says they don't need words when their actions speak for them before challenging X-Pac and Credible to back up their words in the ring tonight. Credible says it's no problem since he used to beat them up all the time back in ECW, so what's one more time. {IN-RING} William Regal makes his way to the ring and gets on the mic. Regal says when he earned the post as WWF Commissioner, his mission was to bring order to the WWF, to quell all the anarchy and disrespect he's witnessed since returning to the company. Regal says that tonight certain individuals will serve as examples to those who go against the McMahon regime, such as Trish Stratus when she takes on the lovely Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley in a strap match. Regal also says that he must get physical himself at times, and will do so when he and his good friend Kurt Angle teach Chris Jericho not to besmirch them. Regal continues talking when someone comes out from the crowd and climbs in the ring. However this stranger is quickly recognized by the crowd and Heyman as .... ROB VAN DAM! Regal is surprised to see RVD in the ring and demands to know who he is and why he's in a WWF ring. RVD grabs a mic and apologizes for his rudeness before introducing himself (with the point-to-self gesutres) and Regal sneers, saying he's heard of RVD and how he competed in "what was it, E-C-something or other", prompting the crowd to correct him. RVD says it doesn't matter about thet past, he's wanting to apply his trade in the WWF and figures Regal's the man to see about it since he's the commish and all. Regal chuckles, saying that no one can just come off the street and demand a job, that the WWF is only for the best of the best and he'll decides who's good enough to wrestle here. RVD wants a chance to show he's good enough but Regal won't hear of it and quickly summons security to throw "this lollygag" out of the building. The crowd boos as the security guys appear and escort RVD from the ring with RVD telling Regal this isn't the end of this, that he's making a mistake. As RVD departs, Regal calls it an example of how he maintains order in the WWF. (COMMERCIAL BREAK){BACKSTAGE}Vince is pacing in his dressing room when Steve Austin walks in. Austin says he heard about the main event and wants to know what Vince is thinking teaming him with Triple H. Austin says he has no problem whipping The Rock's (*bleep*) and The Undertaker's (*bleep*) since he's done it so many times before but doesn't feel he needs Triple H as a tag team partners. Vince tries to sell Austin on his vision on having two dominaiting forces such as him and Triple H on the same side. Vince says with the two of them together nobody could touch them, but Austin shakes his head and warns Triple H not to pull anything in their match, or he'll be the one who gets his (*bleep*) whipped. = MATCH #2 = LEATHER STRAP WHIPPING MATCH Trish Stratus fought Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley to a no contest --------------------------------About what you'd expect as both lades took turns whipping each other with a leather strap. Toward the end Trish had the advantage when William Regal ran out and took Trish out with the inverted neckbreaker. Regal helped Stephanie double-team Trish when Chris Jericho came to Trish's aid and chased off Regal and Stephanie with the strap.(COMMERCIAL BREAK){BACKSTAGE}Kurt Angle looks on as Stephanie is berating William Regal for letting Chris Jericho come out and ruin her match like that when she wasn't done with Trish yet. Angle tries to calm Stephanie down and assures her he and Regal will deal with Jericho as well as Chris Benoit. Regal adds that he knows he and Angle are on the same page while Benoit and Jericho can't say the same. Regal even suggests he has a way to ensure Jericho will get what's coming to him and Stephanie warns both men that they better get the job done, or else. = MATCH #3 = Rhyno def. Tazz --------------------------------A short but hard-hitting match between the two ECW Champions. At one point Tazz manages to hit his own version of the Gore but only gets a two count. Tazz also manages to slap on the Tazzmission while jumping on Rhyno's back but Rhyno throws himself backward to the mat to break it. Rhyno then nails Tazz with his Gore and that gets the three.(COMMERCIAL BREAK){BACKSTAGE}Chris Benoit is warming up when William Regal comes in the room, assuring Benoit he just wants to talk for a second. Regal mentions they did fight on Smackdown but suggets they don't have to be enemies, that his real enemy is Chris Jericho. Regal reminds Benoit that Jericho was the one who took his Intercontinental Title then offers a chance to get it back. Regal tells Benoit that should he decide to turn on Jericho and ensure his team wins, a title shot will be in his future. Benoit chuckles at helping out the man who cheated him out of a win at Wrestlemania but Regal says it was just Kurt Angle's night and there's no shame in losing to him. Regal asks Benoit to think about his proposal, his chance to get back his Intercontinental Title, then heads out leaving Benoit to poinder this. = MATCH #4 = WWF HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Kane © def. Steve Blackman --------------------------------The match was your usual hardcore fare, with Blackman trying to wear Kane down with various weapon shots, but the end comes when Kane boots a trash can into Blackman's face then hits a chokeslam onto said can to retain.Kane gets his arm raised but then looks out and sees Triple H standing at ringside. Kane dares Triple H to come get him some but doesn't see The Big Show coming in from behind him. Show clobbers Kane from behind and clotheslines him over the ropes then he and Triple H double-team him up the ramp to the stage. The Undertaker comes out and goes after Triple H but he rams him into the set while Show manages to chokeslam Kane onto the stage! Show then picks Kane up and hits another chokeslam onto the stage before leaving with Triple H while Taker tends to his fallen brother. (COMMERCIAL BREAK)We get a recap of Triple and Big Show assaulting Kane followed by footage of Kane being helped to the back during the break. {BACKSTAGE}Johnathan Coachman interviews The Undertaker on his and Kane's conditions after the attack by Triple H and The Big Show. Taker says Kane will be fine, that he's had worse happen to him and Show will have to do better than that to take him down, just like Triple H will have to do a better job of jumping him. Taker says Triple H has been trying to get the big dog's attention since Wrestlemania, well he's got it now, and the big dog is ready to take a bite out of someone, whether it's Triple H or whether it's Stone Cold himself. Taker says as for the Rock, as long as he holds up his end, they'll get the job done because Triple H and Austin are about to have a business meeting with Deadman Inc. = MATCH #5 = Raven def. Test --------------------------------At first it looks like a mismatch as Test dominates Raven with his power moves but then gets distracts by Eddie Guerrero and his friends coming out to ringside to watch, alloing Raven to clothesline him over the ropes. Raven hits the Russian legsweep into the barricade then rolls Test in the ring and gets in his offense. Test comes back with the Full Nelson slam for a near fall. Eventually Test rallies and has Raven set up for the pump-handle slam when Eddie hops on the apron taunting Test with the European Title belt. That allows Raven to slip behind Test and shove him face first into Eddie and the belt. Test is reeling as Raven drills him with the Raven Effect and scores the upset pin. {BACKSTAGE}Chris Jericho is walking somewhere when he runs into Chris Benoit and mentions he saw his meeting with William Regal earlier. Jericho wants to know if Benoit is going to turn against him or is he going to help take out those two (*bleep*)clowns. Benoit looks at Jericho and says they'll find out, leaving Jericho to ponder this. (COMMERCIAL BREAK)= MATCH #6 = Chris Benoit & Chris Jericho def. William Regal & Kurt Angle --------------------------------A great, lengthy match. Benoit and Jericho show some hesitation working together while Angle and Regal dominate the early going. The Chrises soon come back and actually start to gel, getting the upper hand several times. Toward the end of the match Angle whips Jericho and Jericho goes for a flying foream but misses Angle and accidentally takes out the referee. Angle slaps on a chinlock and Jericho counters with a jawbreaker then crawls for his corner when Angle pulls him back and slaps on the Anklelock. Jericho tries to hold on when Regal begs Benoit to come in and take his chance. Benoit looks at both Angle and Jericho then comes in ... and boots Angle in the head, saving Jericho! Regal comes in and yells at Benoit then slaps him but Benoit takes him out with a German suplex. The referee revives as Benoit heads back to his corner then extends his arm for a tag. Angle again tries to pull Jericho back but Jericho kicks him away with an enzuigiri and makes the hot tag to Benoit. Benoit wails on Angle then whips him and hits a belly-to-belly suplex followed by a DDT. Benoit kocks Regal off the apron then climbs to the top rope but Regal bumps the ropes causing Benoit to straddle the turnbuckle. Regal plants Benoit with the inverted neckbreaker then leaves Angle to go to cover but Jericho saves it. Jericho backdrops Regal over the ropes when Angle grabs him for the Olympic Slam but Jericho slips out of it and shoves him into Benoit who hot shots him on the top rope. Jericho hits the bulldog followed by the Lionsault while Benoit climbs to the top rope and connects with the diving headbutt for the three count!!Benoit and Jericho get their arms raised while Angle and Regal retreat up the ramp. The Chrises then look at each other when Benoit offers a hand and Jericho shakes it before raising his arm. {BACKSTAGE}Kevin Kelly interviews The Rock, who as usual cuts him off and does the "Finally..." bit. Rock says last week he wanted answers from Stone Cold Steve Austin, and he certainly got them as Austin showed what a gutless coward he is, enlisting Vince McMahon's help to rob him of the WWF Championship. Rock says ever since the past week he's been looking forward to getting a piece of both Austin and Triple H, the two men Vince are trying to meld together into a new force of destruction. Rock says he has his own special force, and it's not the force Luke Skywalker had, it's a force that's powered by....the People! Rock says once he and The Undertaker get done with thier opponents tonight, he's challenging Ausitn to go one-on-one with him for the WWF Championship at Backlash! Rock says he hopes Austin can find the courage to accept a grade-A (*bleep*)-kicking, if you smell what he's cooking. (COMMERCIAL BREAK)= MATCH #7 = X-Pac & Justin Credible (w/Albert) def. The Dudley Boyz (w/Spike Dudley) --------------------------------A short but solid match that sees both teams get the upper hand with some interference from both Spike and Albert. In the closing moments Bubba whips Credible and the Dudleys ready for a 3D but X-Pac trips D'Von and pulls him out to the floor allowing Credible to hit a crossbody. Bubba goes for a slam but Credible counters into a rollup while grabbing the tights for the cheap pin.
D'Von and Spike come in but X-Pac and his pals clear out to the floor and celebrate their ill-gotten win. {BACKSTAGE}We find Austin and Triple H staring at each other as Vince tries to tell them how important it is for them to come together as a team. Vince again tells how the two of them together could be an unstoppable force but Austin and Triple H aren't quite buying it just yet. Austin then says he may have to have Triple H as a partner, but he doesn't want Stephanie in his corner since she may get hurt or even mess things up for them. The Helmsleys protest but Vince feels Austin may have a point and asks Stephanie to stay in the back for her own safety. Stephanie doesn't like it and storms off while Triple H isn't happy Vince is listening to Austin's suggestions. Vince again asks them to please concentrate on working together as a team and the two leave separately. (COMMERCIAL BREAK)= MAIN EVENT = The Rock & The Undertaker def. Stone Cold Steve Austin & Triple H --------------------------------Once all four men are in the ring, Austin and Triple H argue on which of them starts when Rock settles it by pulling Austin into the ring and going right to work on him. Rock goes for a whip, Austin reverses it but Rock comes back with a forearm. Rock decks Triple H on the apron and comes off the ropes but Austin hits a knee to the chest. Austin works Rock over in a corner but Rock reverses positions and gets in his offense. Rock goes for a whip but Austin reverses it and Triple H nails him from behind, allowing Austin to hit s a clothesline. Austin tags Triple H, telling him to hold up his end, and Triple H sneers at Austin but lays the boots to Rock. Triple H goes for a whip but Rock reverses him into a right hand from Taker and Rock follows up with a powerslam for a near fall. Taker gets the tag and Triple H backs away then looks for a tag but Austin is reluctant. Triple H turns back but Taker nails him with a big boot then peppers him in a corner with jabs. Taker whips Triple H into another corner and hits a clothesline then does the same thing in the other corner. Taker then grabs the arm and walks the top rope before hitting the shot to the back. Taker whips Triple H but lowers the head allowing Triple H to hit the facebuster. Austin gets the tag and stomps Taker down in a corner then chokes him with his boot. Austin goes for a whip, Taker reverses it but Austin comes back with the Thesz Press followed by the right hands and the elbowdrop. Austin hits the ropes but Triple H tags himself in and the two argue, allowing Taker to tag Rock in. Rock throws Triple H into a corner and hammers away on him then looks for the Smackdown but Austin clotheslines him from the apron. Triple H stomps Rock down and chokes him then goes for a whip, Rock reverses it but Triple H comes back with a high knee. Triple H stomps at Rock's knee then goes for a spinning toehold but Rock kicks him away into the turnbuckles and rolls him up for a near fall.
Rock struggles back to his feet but Austin is in and chopblocks the knee then stomps away at it before being ordered back to the corner. Triple H continues working over Rock's knee then tries the spinning toehold again and this time gets it. Rock tries to gut out the pain as Taker comes in and boots Triple H in the head to break it. Triple H tags Austin in and Austin cuts off Rock's tag and takes over on the knee. Austin goes out and wraps Rock's knee around the ringpost then goes back in and chokes him on the ropes. Austin whips Rock but Rock floats over him and hits a DDT. Rock crawls toward his corner as Triple H gets his tag but so does Taker. Taker wails on Triple H and goes for a whip, Triple H reverses but Taker comes back with a DDT. Austin is in and Taker backdrops him over the ropes but Triple H trips him into the ropes with a drop toehold. Austin gets the tag and hits the straddle then goes for the Stunner, Taker shoves him away but Triple H trips Taker from the floor allowing Austin to hit an elbowdrop. Austin knocks Rock off the apron when Taker grabs him by the throat, Triple H is in and Taker grabs him but Austin and Triple H manage to counter with a double suplex. Austin and Triple H share a glance before they start double-teaming Taker. Austin and Triple H whip Taker but Taker comes back with a double-clothesline and makes the tag to Rock. Rock goes after Austin while Taker pounds away at Triple H as the referee tries in vain to regain control of the match. Triple H manages to clothesline Taker over the ropes while Rock nails Austin with the Smackdown in a corner. Rock whips Austin and hits the spinebuster but Triple H nails him from behind and drills him with the Peidgree. Triple H covers Rock but Taker makes it in to save it. Taker and Triple H duke it out while Austin rolls out to the floor to recover. Triple H drills Taker with a DDT but Rock comes up and plants Triple H with a Rock Bottom! Rock then looks out at Austin, daring him to come in, but Austin just grabs his belt and walks away. So Rock covers Triple H and gets the 1..2..3.Rock and Taker gets their arms raised before Rock looks out to see Austin back up the ramp with the WWF Championship in hand, saying Rock didn't beat him. Rock dares Austin to 'just bring it' and Austin stares him back as the show fades to black.

UJG's Review:
Great Intro to kick off RAW finally seeing The Undertaker and The Rock take on Stone Cold and Triple H in a Tag Team Match in the main-event hope it's interesting,
Hardys/Acolytes: great win for The Hardys and great tag team title defense against The Acolytes, hopefully Edge and Christian can have a re-match with The Hardys, I definitely look for The Hardys to stay the Tag Team Champions in this diary,
HHH/Austin/Mcmahons/Regal Segment: certainly Stephanie is very confident on beating Trish in the strap match, but Triple H is definitely not going to trust Austin, if Austin defends the title against Undertaker, Triple H and The Rock at Backlash and retains it, then maybe we could see Triple H and Austin fight for the title at Judgment Day but that's just my opinion,
yes, Rob Van Dam in the World Wrestling Federation, sad to say that he got thrown out by William Regal and Security, any WWF Superstar better be on the lookout for this guy,
Trish/Stephanie: I must say it was a weak one with William Regal and Chris Jericho appearing forcing this match to go to a draw,
Rhyno/Tazz: Great match with the Two ECW Legends, great dominant victory for Rhyno over Tazz, hoping you give Rhyno a push at a title like European, Intercontinental or Hardcore.
Benoit/Regal segment: I don't think Benoit's not going to turn on Jericho, I think both Benoit and Jericho are going to get even with Angle and Regal in the tag team match,
Kane/Blackman: nice successful title defense for Kane, I don't think anybody can stop Kane, but with Big Show and Triple H coming out to attack Kane, and The Undertaker coming to help but Show chokeslams Kane not once but twice onto the stage, if he had done that why didn't he cover him for the Hardcore Championship, or why didn't he have a referee.
Raven/Test: Good win for Raven, Raven's been quite on a roll in this booking, I think he should get a Intercontinental, European or I think he should go back to the Hardcore Championship, I look for quite the ECW Stars like Rhyno, Tazz and Raven to hold a title in this diary,
Chrises/Regal and Angle: I'm just going to call Jericho and Benoit the Chrises but great tag team match between these four with Benoit and Jericho finally co-existing after the match, hoping we see a Fatal-Four Way Match at Backlash for the WWF Intercontinental Championship like the WWF Championship,
Rock Interview: mad anger there by The Rock and referring to Luke Skywalker not having the power to the people only The Rock could have the force power to the people, hoping him and Undertaker co-exist in this match,
X-Factor/Dudley Boys: Good win for X-Factor, I'm seeing all these tag teams come and go looking to gain at the WWF Tag Team Championship against The Hardys in your diary,
HHH and Austin/Rock and Taker: I know these four can't get along but this tag team match is a whole lot of history, both these feuds were in 1998, first you had Triple H vs The Rock and Stone Cold vs The Undertaker, and now these four are ruling the latter part of the Attitude Era, I didn't see any tension between HHH and Austin, they worked so well including Rock and Undertaker, but I'm still thinking we get to see a potential fatal-four way match for the WWF Championship at Backlash, that could be an epic matchup.
great show man and Feedback to WWF 1993 Diary would be appreciated too man,

Raw thoughts...
New style for me is a little better.
One thing I noticed with this show is you have a lot going on. For a 2 hour show you had 8 matches and a number of other in ring and backstage segments.
Overall for me you had too much going on overall, I understand you were telling a story throughout the show with Austin/HHH and a lesser extent Benoit/Jericho but there was a little too much. However it was all good and made sense I just think you could have there easier maybe.
8 matches is too much, some of the matches ended up just came across as filler. Kane/Blackman, Raven/Test even the tag title match a little. If these matches were removed from the show and added to Smack Down they would have felt like a bigger deal.
Don't get me wrong on a whole the show was written well stories were advanced but it after a while I just wanted it too end you were burning me out while reading it.
In summary I'm a fan of your work but this Raw there was too much going on, trim the fat a little.

April 12, 2001 | Baltimore, MDSmackdown comes on the air with footage of The Rock walking somewhere earlier today and heading into an office where he finds Vince McMahon. Rock tells Vince that he'll make it short and sweet, he wants his rematch with Stone Cold Steve Austin for the WWF Championship. Vince asks Rock who he thinks he is barging into his office and demanding a match with Austin but Rock says he know who he is. Vince tells Rock that Austin has the night off but he can have his rematch at Backlash if he wins a #1 contender's match tonight. Vince then tells Rock that his opponent is going to be...The Undertaker. Rock says that's fine, because no matter who Vince puts in front of him, Austin can't run from him forever and very soon it will be the two of them in the ring, if you smell what he's cooking. We then get the intro followed by Michael Cole and Tazz welcoming us to the program. Cole says the match has been signed for tonight, Rock versus Undertaker with the winner to meet the WWF Champion at Backlash. Tazz says Austin isn't due to be there tonight but will no double be watching the match closely. = MATCH #1 = Rhyno def. "The One" Billy Gunn --------------------------------Rhyno pretty much just destroys Billy here. Billy gets in little bits of offense but Rhyno remains in control throughout and puts him away with the Gore in short order.{BACKSTAGE}We find William Regal watching a tape of Chris Benoit helping Chris Jericho in the tag match on Raw and saying how Benoit chose foolishly and must now pay the price. Kurt Angle, Edge and Christian walk in bragging about what their friend Rhyno did and Regal says it was great before saying he has some matches for them tonight. Regal says he wants to punish Benoit for turing his back on his offer and Angle steps forward, offering to teach Benoit another wrestling lesson but Regal says he's instead giving that honor to Edge and Christian. Regal says it's going to be a 3-on-2 handicap match, Benoit and Kane against E&C and The Big Show! E&C say they'll be happy to take out those two 'reekazoids' if it means getting themselves closer to a Tag Team Title shot before departing. Regal then tells Angle how Stephanie McMahon isn't thrilled with them after they failed to beat Benoit and Jericho on Raw, especially after Jericho ruined her whipping match with Trish Stratus, and since Stephanie won't be here tonight since she's under the weather she's asked him to take care of it tonight. Regal asks Angle to find a female partner to take on Jericho and Trish tonight and Angle agrees to it. (COMMERCIAL BREAK) = MATCH #2 = 3-on-2 HANDICAP MATCH The Big Show, Edge & Christian def. Chris Benoit & Kane --------------------------------Pretty wild match for the most part. E&C double-team Benoit to start and Benoit manages to hold his own, even getting Christian in the Crossface until Edge makes the save. Once Show tags in he has his way with Benoit then attempts a press slam when Kane comes in and boots Show over, causing Benoit to fall on top for a two count. Kane is able to get the tag and E&C double team him but Kane counters a double suplex by suplexling both guys simultaneously. Benoit tags in and again takes it to E&C with Kane also getting involved. Near the end Kene has Edge ready or a chokeslam but Show pulls Kane out to the floor and pounds away at him. Kane and Show continue to fight it out when Show grabs Kane and chokeslams him through the announce table! In the ring Benoit is engaged with Christian when Edge goes for the spear but misses Benoit and nails his own partner. Benoit grabs Edge and hits him with the German suplexes. The referee keeps Show from coming in as Benoit looks ready to finish it when Kurt Angle comes in and starts duking it out with him. Benoit manages to fight Angle off but E&C come in with a pair of chairs and hit the ConChairto! Angle flees the ring while Show tags in and finishes Benoit off with a chokeslam for the pin.{BACKSTAGE} William Regal and Kurt Angle are chuckling at seeing Benoit and Kane decimated before Regal asks Angle is he's found someone to team with yet. At that moment Ivory comes in and says she's heard about the mixed tag tonight then tells Angle she would be honored to team with him to take care of 'Trish the Tramp' as well as that 'vile loud-mouth' Chris Jericho. Angle accepts Ivory's offer and Ivory asks that in exchange Regal allow Bull Buchanan and The Goodfather a Tag Team Title match with the Hardys, which Regal grants. (COMMERCIAL BREAK) {BACKSTAGE} Vince is talking on the phone to someone but is forced to cut the conversation short when Triple H comes in the room. Vince asks Triple H how Stephanie is and Triple H says she's doing fine then asks Vince if he's happy his little experiment with him and Austin on Raw failed after Austin walked out on him. Vince says what happened is Triple H wouldn't allow it to succeed, that he wouldn't be a team player and therefore he lost the match, just like he lost to the Undertaker at Wrestlemania. Vince says he's going to guide Austin to greatness, and warns Triple H he might want to decide whether he comes along for the ride or not, but Triple H answers back with a cold stare and departs. = MATCH #3 = The Dudley Boyz & Spike Dudley def. X-Factor by disqualification --------------------------------Cole says this match was made after the Dudleys demanded a rematch from their loss on Raw. X-Pac and his pals Albert and Justin Credible head out first as Cole mentions how they're now refering to their trioship as 'X-Factor'. Solid enough six-man tag with some back-and-forth action which breaks down near the end. D'Von and Spike clear X-Pac and Credible from the ring while Bubba slams Albert and sets him up for D'Von to climb to the top and hit the "Wassup" headbutt. Bubba sends D'Von out for a table and D'Von pulls one out but X-Pac and Credible ambush him on the floor. Spike dives through the ropes and nails Credible with a pescado while D'Von throws X-Pac into the ringsteps. Back in the ring Bubba whips Albert as D'Von comes in and the Dudleys hit the 3D! Bubba covers Albert but X-Pac is in with a chair and clobbers Bubba for a DQ.After the bell D'Von and Spike double-team X-Pac but Credible is in and tosses Spike out through the ropes then helps X-Pac hit D'Von with a double superkick. X-Pac and Credible then set the table up on the floor and Albert puts Bubba through it with the BaldoBomb. X-Pac and his crew then head up the ramp bragging about getting another one over the Dudleys while Spike tends to his brothers. {BACKSTAGE} Johnathan Coachman interviews The Undertaker on battling for a title shot against The Rock, the very man who teamed with him to get the win on Raw. Taker chuckles at Vince trying to bring Austin and Triple H together like the Odd Couple or something. Taker says he doesn't have any personal problems with Rock, but he's not going to pass up an oppertunity at the WWF Championship, the oppertunity to show Mr. Austin who the big dog in the yard is. Taker tells Triple H might want to think about not getting involved in his business, or he may just relive their clash at Wrestlemania. (COMMERCIAL BREAK) {IN-RING} Eddie Guerrero makes his way to the ring for some reason and gets on the mic. Eddie says he's been working to become the greatest European Champion of all time ever since Wrestlemania, but he keeps getting asked when he's going to give Test a rematch. Eddie says he's willing to give Test a title shot right then and there, all he has to do is bring his big blonde (*bleep*) out to the ring like a man. We cut backstage to see Test willing to take on Eddie's offer when he's suddenly jumped by Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn. The two Radicals work Test over while Eddie brags from the ring, saying it looks like Test won't be able to come out and play. Eddie then offers a title shot to the first man to step out through the curtain and out comes...Al Snow! Snow, how has his mannequin head, gets on the mic and says he wasn't sure if he wanted to accept but Head talked him into it so here he comes. = MATCH #4 = WWF EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Eddie Guerrero © def. Al Snow --------------------------------Surprisingly sold match as Snow manages to keep up with Eddie and even takes the advantage a couple of times. Toward the end Eddie sets Snow on the top rope then goes up looking for a huricanrana but Snow shoves him off. Snow then hits Eddie with a flying crossbody but Eddie rolls through it and gets a two count. Snow goes for a whip, Eddie reverses it and slaps on a sleeperhold but Snow is able to counter with a back suplex. Snow then goes for the Snowplow but Eddie floats behind him and drills him with a brainbuster. Eddie climbs to the top rope and hits the Frogsplash for the pin to retain.Eddie grabs his title and brags to the fallen Snow when Test suddenly runs in and takes him down from behind. Test pounds away on Eddie as a number of referees try to pull him off. {BACKSTAGE}Trish Stratus is meeting with Chris Jericho and thanks him for coming to her aid on Raw, with Jericho saying nobody deserves to be brutalized by that trash-bag bottomfeeder Stephanie. Trish then expresses her concern about the match but Jericho tells her to worry about Ivory, he'll take care of "Wee Willie Regal's BFF". (COMMERCIAL BREAK){BACKSTAGE}Vince is sitting in his office when he's surprised by Steve Austin's arrival. Vince greets Austin and says he didn't have to be here when he has the night off but Austin says he wanted to see the main event to see who would be challenging him at Backlash. Austin says he's whipped The Rock last month and he's whipped Undertaker every time they've met, so it doesn't matter which man wins, no one is taking his title away from him, not after everything he's done to get back to the top of the mountain. Vince then mentions his meeting with Triple H earlier and Austin says Triple H didn't trust him enough to be his teammate and needed a lesson in being a team player. Austin says this is the beginning of a new era in the WWF, the Austin-McMahon Era, and if Triple H doesn't want to be a part of it, oh well. = MATCH #5 = MIXED TAG TEAM MATCH Kurt Angle & Ivory def. Chris Jericho & Trish Stratus --------------------------------Angle starts off against Jericho and the two go back-and-forth until Angle hits a belly-to-belly suplex. Angle then taunts Trish to help her partner out when Jericho rolls him up and gets a two count. Jericho hits more chops and goes for a whip but Angle counters with a Fireman's carry into a Fujiwara armbar. Jericho manages to get his feet on the bottom rope to force a break then gets to his feet when Trish tags herself in. Angle dares Trish to come and get some but the referee demands he allow Ivory to tag in as per the rules. The ladies then go at it with Trish again showing she has some skill to match up with Ivory. At one point Trish manages to hit Ivory with a running bulldog and cover her but Angle is in and pulls her off. Angle gets back to his corner but Jericho comes in and knocks him off the apron with the springboard dropkick. Soon Angle gets the tag and tries to block Trish's path to her corner but Trish manages to crawl underneath hm to tag Jericho. Angle and Jericho do their stuff when Angle goes for a German suplex but Jericho counters into a rollup into the Walls of Jericho. However Ivory comes in and rakes Jericho's face to break it up, prompting Trish to come in and take her down then ram her into the mat repeatedly. The referee gets the ladies back to the corners as Angle goes for the Olympic Slam but Jericho lands on his feet and rolls Angle up for a two count. Jericho whips Angle and hits a flying forearm but doesn't see Ivory making a blind tag. The referee then orders Jericho to the corner while Trish climbs to the top rope and nails Ivory with a crossbody. Trish covers Ivory but Angle pulls her off and plants her with the Olympic Slam! Angle knocks Jericho off the apron when Ivory covers Trish and gets the three count.Angle raises Ivory's arm when Jericho makes it back in to clear the ring before checking on Trish. {BACKSTAGE}Regal is still in his office enjoying Trish's punishment when he gets a knock at the door and tells the person to come in...only to find it's Rob Van Dam! Regal asks RVD what he's doing here and how he got past security and RVD says he's still interested in joining the WWF and felt Regal might be in a better mood than Monday to talk about it. Regal tells RVD the answer is still no and orders him to leave the premesis or be thrown out by security. RVD asks for one match to prove he could fit in with the WWF, and figures that since Raw is going to he in Philadelphia, one of his old haunts, that could be the perfect place. Regal says he'll take it under consideration, but until then, he needs to leave, now! RVD glares at Regal then departs, but not before saying that on his way in he ran into a courier who had a package for Mr. McMahon. RVD lays a small package on a desk as Regal tells him he'll see that Vince will get it. (COMMERCIAL BREAK){BACKSTAGE}The Hardys make their way to the ring for their title defense as we cut backstage to find Steven Richards and Ivory addressing Bull Buchanan and The Goodfather, saying how they've hit a rough patch recently but Ivory has given them an oppertunity to get the Right To Censor off the snide by winning the Tag Team Titles tonight. Ivory says she showed them that the RTC can still send a message and Richards tells his men they need this so don't screw it up. However Buchanan and Goodfather tell Richards they don't like his tone, since he hasn't done much to turn their fortunes around either, before heading out to the ring followed by Richards. = MATCH #6 = WWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH The Hardy Boyz © (w/Lita) def. Bull Buchanan & The Goodfather (w/Steven Richards) --------------------------------Decent eough match with the Hardys again using their quickness to keep the RTC'ers off balance. Late in the match the RTC'ers double-team Matt then whip him but miss a double clothelsine while Jeff comes off the top rope with a crossbody on both men. Jeff manages to backdrop Goodfather over the ropes then climbs to the top rope and connects with a plancha on the floor. In the ring Buchanan grabs Matt as Richards comes in for a Stevenkick but Matt escapes and Buchanan takes the shot. Matt clotheslines Richards over the ropes then drills Buchanan with the Twist of Fate to get the three. The Hardys celebrate their win while the RTC'ers head to the back arguing about the loss. The Hardys then turn just in time to catch Edge & Christian trying to jump them. The two teams go back and forth before the Hardys manage to clear their foes from the ring. E&C then back away saying how the tag belts belong to them and they want them back. {BACKSTAGE} Kevin Kelly interviews The Rock for his thoughts on the main event, with Rock doing his usual interuption. Rock says he heard what The Undertaker said earlier and feels they're on the same page, that they both want a shot at the WWF Championship and are willing to go through anyone to get it, including each other. Rock says he saw that Stone Cold Steve Austin decided to show up when he didn't want to stick around after [Rock] was whipping everyone's candy (*bleep*). Rock says Vince McMahon can throw Triple H, The Undertaker, his momma, his uncle Joe, his weirdo cousin twice-removed at him, but in the end nothing will stand between him and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Rock says once that happens there'll be nowhere for Austin to run, and he will be WWF Champion again, if you smell what he's cooking. (COMMERCIAL BREAK){BACKSTAGE} Regal walks into Vince's office telling him about the package delivered for him and Vince opens it to find a videotape inside. Vince puts the tape into a VCR and is greeted by the image of Linda McMahon! Linda greets her husband then announces she's regained her full mental faculties since she's no longer medicated and as a result is back into her normal position as CEO of the WWF. Linda says she's still using the name McMahon but after everything Vince has done to her, she's considering a few changes. Linda also puts Shane over for standing up for what he believes in and facing Vince, as difficult as it may have been, and even talks about how good it felt at Wrestlemania when she rose from the chair and kicked Vince right in the junk. Linda says she has a lot of catching up to do but just wanted to let Vince know she's back, and that she may be paying a personal visit real soon. The tape ends leaving Vince and Regal stunned, with Vince saying this could be trouble for them. = MAIN EVENT = #1 CONTENDER'S MATCH The Rock vs. The Undertaker --------------------------------Cole reminds us the winner of this match will meet Austin for the title at Backlash. Both men lockup to start when Rock gets a headlock, Taker shoves him off but eats a shoulderblock. Rock goes for a whip and Taker counters with a short-arm clothesline but misses an elbowdrop. great start with The Rock coming in to talk with Vince about getting another WWF Title Shot, but a good match Vince signed as The Rock and The Undertaker battle it out to see who the #1 Contender is,
decent victory for Rhyno over Billy Gunn, he should go for the Intercontinental, European or Hardcore Championship, anything can happen.
Benoit and Kane which is a strange odd team as they take on Big Show, Edge and Christian. So great win for Show, Edge and Christian against Benoit and Kane
Triple H still wants a WWF Championship Match against Austin, it would've been nice if you made a Triple Threat Match but a one-on-one match between The Rock and The Undertaker for the #1 Contendership will be fine,
So X-Factor didn't want to take the easy way out for a win against The Dudley Boys, I can quite understand that The Dudleys have been really made a target out of by the X-Factor
Poor Snow, accepting the challenge against Eddie Guerrero for the European Championship, but he failed, hoping a Guerrero/Test re-match is in the future,
the Austin/Mcmahon era talking about Triple H, for Austin to say stuff about Triple H makes me wonder if Triple H is going to be next in line for a World Wrestling Federation Championship shot soon,
great win for Angle and Ivory over Trish and Jericho, Angle joining the RTC is very intruiging and interesting,
and speaking of Right To Censor with Bull Buchanan and The Godfather, they failed to win the Tag Team Titles over The Hardy Boys,
and RVD in the World Wrestling Federation, it's very interesting that you're bringing him, I look for good things in this diary on Rob Van Dam.
good victory for The Rock over The Undertaker getting a #1 Contendership Match with Triple H, his feud against The Undertaker is certainly not over yet, but Mcmahon saying a Steel Cage Match between Austin and The Rock makes me wonder if this is going to be a same swerve, but Taker/HHH at Backlash should be interesting, I guess we might wait for the fatal-four way match for the WWF Title soon, I think a gimmick match between Triple H and The Undertaker at Backlash might happen,
great show for SMACKDOWN, looking to find more stuff from you soon,
