So recently I've seen, heard, and read a lot of hate toward Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. As a kid I loved this movie as much as the first and still do today. I guess some people don't like it because it's "more of the same" with the burglar traps and stuff but I disagree. I think the movie has character development, variety and not to mention a really fun story with an even better side plot with the hotel manager. You can't go wrong with Tim Curry being the bad guy and Rob Schneider is actually...funny. If I had one complaint about this movie it's that I wish we had more Tim Curry interaction and maybe less Harry and Marv. It seemed like they went the first half of the movie setting up this great plot with Kevin and Tim Curry only to seemingly drop it midway in place of Harry and Marv. I still love this movie and watch it every year around Christmas...even if it is a little far fetched. What do you guys think of this movie? Love or hate?

I watched it last year and that was the first time since the 90's that I had seen the film. It doesn't hold up as well as the first because it was a retread through and through. Yeah, Curry and Schnieder added a little something extra but not enough. All the gags were the same and it even had a different bum giving Kevin moral advice on life.

I think for what the film aims to be it's pretty decent. It's a family friendly romp... it's not as good as the first, but I just re-watched it and I think it's fun.

Honestly like it over the first, but the fact its so overplayed really annoys me.

I thought it was better than the first. However, I'm from New York so I may be biased. Marv is awesome in the second one. The paint scene, the electrocution scene, the brick scene, and of course "Harry... I've reached the top!"

Any hate people have towards this movie should direct it more towards the other godawful sequels.

Love The first two are both great. As a kid, it was really an introduction (for me) to New York City & I dug that, along with it being a fun sequel. I actually like the third one a little bit too. I didn't see home alone 1 in theaters because it was always sold out, always. That & Aladdin & the lion king...there would be a line that went all through the parking lot & as you pulled up, someone would say 'all shows sold out today, sorry'

I actually prefer it to the first...
I love them both, they're both movies that I could watch over and over and never get bored of. These two things slay me EVERY time:

I liked it. One and Two are both awesome. I hate however anything after it that had no connection to one and two. Plus one and two had a hell of a talent roster. 3 on had a bunch of nobodies. It make no sense to make more after 2 if you not using anything to connect the series.

See I like the movie but most people seem to bash the Hangover II for basically being the same movie as the first but give this movie a pass when it's actually the same case.

Way too similar to the original...The 3rd wasn't too bad.
