I don't understand how a human being can look like a poorly done Photoshop, but sure enough, there's Dante Dash.

I would probably make a top 5 favorite completed, non superhero series for me. Great ending. I love that Ennis actually has a clear beginning, middle and end and goes through with it. He could have milked Preacher for another 30-50 issues if he really wanted. You have to know how to end a series, even if you don't want to... I'm looking at you Kirkman and Willingham.

The crazy thing is Ennis admitted in an interview that he really didn't have much in mind wind he started it. He pretty much knew the beginning and parts if the ending. It seems so well planned, but it's not. When the Vertigo editors wanted updates, he'd send about a paragraph of what was coming next because that's all he had. It's a shame he hasn't been able to pull it off again. He's had some good stuff since (Punisher Max, The Boys), but nothing quite like Preacher. It was a perfect mix of sentimental and ridiculous.

By the way, I was about to go to sleep, but my son decided to be an ass and wake up.

The Boys had a great start, but it felt like it lost direction after a while. Also, I get that he hates superheroes, but his view on them is so bleak it's cartoonish. Even in that world I don't buy that all but like 2 or 3 heroes would be that horrible.
Brian Azzarello is kind of the same to me. 100 Bullets was great, but nothing else has even come close.
Have you read Scalped by Jason Aaron? Good crime book.

100 Bullets is in my top 5. I absolutely an in love with it.
I've read some of Scalped and really dug it, but I fell off. Not sure why. Same thing with Y: The Last Man, which I really, really need to finish.
And, yeah. She's sleeping and I don't want to wake her.

But, Ennis' hatred of superheroes is what made The Pro so fun. Side note: One of my best friends is actually in one of the issues.

Not my favorite though. Have you tried Ex Machina? Solid too.

Ex Machina was pretty enjoyable. I liked it a lot, but not as much as everyone else. I can't remember which issue or page, but she's an amateur model that goes by the name Essex Machina (full circle, huh?) and she developed a friendship with Darick Robertson through Warren Ellis (who is a sleazeball that was trying to get in her pants while his girlfriend was away on vacation or some such and stopped talking to her when she got a boyfriend). Robertson took one of her modeling pictures he really liked and photoshopped it into the background of a large panel. It's hanging on a wall and it's the only thing not actually drawn. Anyway, it's a cool little claim to fame for her. Another side note: She was one of the two witnesses to sign my marriage license.

A friend/ex co-worker of mine was kinda being cyber-stocked by him. There is a lot of naughty goings on in the convention scene where creators can kind of take advantage of their "celebrity" and for them, on the road, it's easy to do.

Robertson is a great guy, though. My favorite story about conventions is a group of artist do an annual thing each SDCC where they go out to a strip club, draw the girls, then write it off on their taxes.

I have a customer who is apparently friends with Darick, always left me with the impression he was a good guy. Sounds like SDCC. For some, it's a drunken hookup fest. As far as a group of guys who does that, it sounds like it might be Drink and Draw with Dave Johnson and his crew.
