What's so bad about grains? Are beans grains? Beans are protien, grains are carbs. James does a low-carb, high-protien diet, I believe. Close. Beans are legumes, a no-no on paleo lists. I dont even remember why. Might be because of the phytates/anti nutrients, same problem with wheat. And from what i remember as a kid they dont even taste good! My diet is what id call 'relatively' low carb: i eat a lot more carbs then i used to (for example, today i had a giant bowl of white rice, entire bag (~2.5 c) of frozen blackberries, an i also plan on having 16 oz (measured raw) of roasted cauliflowe after ork- this in total is still *only* about 230 g carbs, and the US's guidelines are like, 300 g for a 2000 kcal diet.. LOL (watch that 45 min vid i posted a few hours ago for more info. So, yeah, low(er) carb, but not keto or atkins level low. Now, white rice, yeh, its a grain, but its cheap, gluten free, doesnt have the husk (antinutrient) like brown rice, and its a nice hot/flilling carb meal. Protein? Hell yeah, high. Over 200 g per day of meat/whey/plain gelatine. The rest is fat (meat/eggs/coconut). Used to eat nuts but i feel theyre overrated by the health community: easy to over eat, too calorically dense because theyre pure fat, and they do have phytates just like grains.

James I await your answer for I desperately need to shed this excess weightloss fat I can probably sen you some links tonight to help you out. Maybe i cancompress it to two or three (Reddit Fitness FAQ and mayne some paleo sites) Also, check out that vid on the last page. That dude also made a great video called Fat Head which pretty much changed my opinion on food and eating and such. But most of the nutrition stuff comes from Marks Daily Apple and the forum. I deviate from that a lot more often than i used too, and though i no longer label myself as 'primal' or 'paleo' i still follow those nutrition guidelines in general.

Ah okay thanks man. I am trying to eat more protein and less carbs and sodium NICE. I my reading and personal experience I've found that sodium is good for active people (electrolytes and jazz). but it's probably good to cut it. Some stuff to start you off from my schools of thought (I kept it to four links + a "cliffnotes from me" section) www.reddit.com/r/Fitness/wiki/faq(goals/diet/myths/eat less than you burn/etc). REALLY good stuff that ANYONE wanting to be healthier should read. This is so cumulative; I can't recommend it enough. PRIMAL BLUEPRINT DEFINITIVE GUIDE www.marksdailyapple.com/definitive-guide-primal-blueprint/#axzz2plgJHCDcand 8 KEY CONCEPTS www.marksdailyapple.com/the-primal-blueprint-8-key-concepts/#axzz2plgJHCDcMark and his followers generally say to not count your calories. If you're cutting than I'd say that this is not a good idea. Track what you're eating, at least at first, to truly get what's going on. www.leangains.com/2010/10/top-ten-fasting-myths-debunked.htmlFasting myths I think intermittent fasting is a viable AS LONG AS YOU TAKE IN BCAAs before training like Martin suggest. Don't train completely fasted. I actually train in the afternoons these days on nothing but a stomach of 1 scoop of whey. Even if you don't follow an IF routine (and I'm not saying you should or shouldnt), these diet myths are really interesting.. Cliffnotes from me- You want to lose FAT. That's different from losing weight. Focus on diet rather than exercise. Calories in/calories out. Period. Burn more than you take in. It takes a certain amount of calories to stay alive (BMR), and add your activity to find your TDEE. Count your calories. Though I believe in calorie in/calories out (just saw a thread on a guy losing 30+ lbs on McDonalds), calories are NOT created equal (300 kcals of grilled chicken and veggies is more filling and simply better for you than 300 kcals of sugary cookies). It's all about what and how much you eat moreso than when you eat it (i.e.- "6 small meals a day" is BS. BUT post-workout carbs may be a good idea. Evidence and discussions are unclear. I'm unclear. High protein while cutting bodyfat by cutting calories to preserve muscle. Slow and steady- don't try to lose more than 2 lbs a week. Find a few "maintenance calorie calculator" on google to see how many kcals it takes to maintain; knock about 500 off that number per day and see what happens LIFT and focus on compound movements. Saturated fat is fine. Don't let the junior high health books fool you. Grains are bad. Don't let the junior high health books fool you. Do cardio if you want. You'll burn more calories. Keep in mind, though, that it is a MUCH better strategy to not over-eat in the first place rather than doing cardio in order to be able to eat more.

Thanks man! All I do is cardio and sit ups for now but I will try and start lifting weights again. I am really weak from years of no exercise, when I last lifted I finally was able to lift 100 pounds.

Yes I am watching random episodes and I highly enjoy it so far. Once you get to Matt Smith it's much better to watch them in order. Has actual season long storylines.

I enjoy teh dr. who, I really do. hell I'm wearing Dalek socks right now. but I'm not as into the Who as I could or possibly should be. Or as much as my mom thinks I am ( she's obsessed) also, I didn't post a single Double D pic today. ... ... ... ... ... #LeRealDeal

Every time I watch Toy Story, I'm surprised to see Joss Whedon wrote it. Every. Time. Why can't I remember that?
