This is fun and and all, but it kinda sucks. Banter being a thread on a board, I mean. I remember back in the mind 2000s when I was an efed guy, we would all get together in chat rooms. It felt like a conversation. You'd get a notification when somebody said some sh*t. Someone spells a word wrong, everyone jumps on you in real time. Someone posts a link, everyone either went silent while watching then swarmed back, or someone would hover over the link first and say "GUYS IT'S A TRAP. DON'T CLICK." Good times. Older technology, yet it felt more connected. Pepperidge Farm also remembers. |

Older technology, yet it felt more connected. I don't disagree. But message boards are easier to have conversations on than Twitter and other social media. Somehow using direct chat just lost it's appeal, which I don't get, because it still has a valid purpose to me. I'll talk to random internet people in chat rooms and such, but I'm not texting with them, or giving out my facebook or twitter. Some of the old WF chats and Inner Circle chats were amazing. Remember doing a few voice chats where me, WOJC, and KAM just kept getting fattic to say things that ended in "R" with her Boston accent. |
