Defo. I marked out when my mom brought it home one day. JP toys, from what I found out last month, have some pretty steep asking prices on the great bay. Usually our local thrift store has nothing but beat up stuffed animals and mcdonalds toys, but there have been some real gems over the years (N64 and wires [no controller or games though, had to pawn them off some friends]) for freaking $1.00 back in 2006. Genesis and a dozen games, 3 controllers, and hookups for $5 (I already had 3 genesises by why the hell not?) And if I'm ever bored, I can always get a random sports PS1 game for 50 cents. A lot of my ties and "non fat guy workout shirts" came from there, too. Hell, most of my current wardrobe came from Goodwill. Can I move in with you? Yard sales around here tend to be "Well, we got an old text book, and, uh... Here's a cool stick I found." Lol. It's like that around here a lot, too, and a lot of time people think their items are worth way more than they actually are. Damaged-looking PS2 with no games or controllers from some shady looking guy in a cigarette in his mouth? 30 bucks. Wat. Hell, the flea market I went too there was a guy with beat-up BCAs who wanted 2 dollars each. Btch plz. I found those Xmen figures and two beat up TMNT foot soldiers for 1 each, I thought that was great for inflated flea market prices. Went over to another guy who had some beat up TMNTs (actual turtles though) who wanted 5 each. I actually haven't been doing too well this year when it comes to sales (my best find has probably been that Rey brawling buddy for $1), but I'm not getting out as much as I did back in the day. It got to the point where it's not really economically feasible to drive 30-40 minutes to where community yardsales are being held in hopes of finding something, so I just buy whatever random crap I'm looking for on Ebay (for example, that triceratops and pteranadon in my JP collection). I miss the old days of 2009-2011 when I was a fat lazy kid who had nothing to worry about than spending his gas station mini paychecks on old crap at yard sales. Actually 2012 might have been my best year: some guy had a box of random-ass wires including 6 SNES games, a Genesis II with hookups, a top loader NES, two normal nes controllers, and two SNES controllers. He wanted 20, and I could have probably haggled down more, but I went with it because I knew top loaders were going for 50ish console only back then. Okay, I'm going to stop now before this turns into my official "remember when I found X" at a yardsale" thread. |
