I can only imagine what it was like to have been a DIE HARD Star Wars fan back in the heyday.. Like you were alive, in theater watching the first movies loving it all, LOVING YODA!

Then you watch Yoda pull out a light saber in Episode 2! I actually remember a guy telling me about a CAM download he had the first few weeks after the movie hit cinemas.. And when Yoda pulls out the saber the crowd doesn't calm down until sometime after the fight scene.

when Europe was under the fist of the Roman Empire things were better for loads of folks(not everyone)but when it fell?Barbarian tribes overran Europe and everything went backwards leading to the Dark Ages.simple things the Romans had done like roads,aquaducts etc etc all fell into disrepair and were also no longer safe to travel on.

in SW Palpatine/Sidious has enslaved many of the non human races and has restricted the spread of tech etc outside key areas of the Empire.....IE the Core worlds.The Rebels are literally dealing with scraps....not to mention the poor f8ckers on outer rim worlds like Tatooine.

It's been talked about for a while but this is the first time it's actually been confirmed to be in the works.

Yeah, I'm sure at the time they were pretty much all but confirmed. At least now we know they're 100% gonna happen.

I was unaware about the solo Solo (pun intended, lol) movie. Sounds pretty awesome but I wonder how they're gonna do it with Harrison Ford being so old. It would be kind of interesting if they had old Han Solo but also a young Han Solo through flashbacks.

Really? In all honesty I didn't know anything about that. That's awesome.

I would 100% go and see it. Especially, since the script was written by the guy who obviously had an in-depth design and backstory for the character, and wanted to make him "main villain" material. Bobba Fett is awesome imo and for those of us who think ESB is the greatest of the trilogy, now franchise, he's an extremely cult like character at this point.

The hard part for me in all this, is that this stuff is coming too late. I would have thrown so much money at a Han Solo prequel. I'm talking multiple theater viewings, buying up all the toys, and of course the regular BR and then Director's Cut of the Blu Ray, and hell, even the video game purchase if that went along with it. Unfortunately, we will never get that, even if Disney still tries to do it with some other actor, making it not Han Solo, we will never really get it. The Thrawn Triliogy, a stand alone Mara Jade movie, Dash Rendar, Kyle Katarn, Talon Karrde, and especially Jaina and Jacen Solo are all characters or stories that would drive me to the theater. Had they done some of this in the 90's and gone with sequels, instead of over done and bloated cgi prequels, this would be so much easier for Disney imo.

I passionately love Star Wars. So I'm pretty much open to the idea of seeing whatever happens with it, but for me, the ship has really sailed on a ton of the fanboy or Expanded U projects that could have been. That's not to say I'm not still excited, but there was a 20 year window or so after ROTJ where they could have done something, anything, with the original cast, and they just didn't do it. Now they're all old and there is no other option but to use them to hand the ball off.
