One question, can the legs still move and stay Vertically? (up n down) Yes, but not as securely as usual or as Elites. That's partially why I want to try implementing a more Elite-style with rotary balls in the joints. But as they are, you can still do all the still poses as you could before.

Do it to the shoulders as well please! So we can have a proper cripple crossface as well as a proper yes lock. Interesting idea! I can think of a way to do that that might be fairly easy. Stay tuned!

I was able to get one leg done, but I'll have to do the other leg tomorrow and, hopefully, finish up. I was looking at your other tutorial, also, and I was wondering if you thought it might be possible to further mod the torso and pelvis to mimic an old GI Joe figure? Basically, round off the torso and make a cavity for it in the pelvis.

Basically, round off the torso and make a cavity for it in the pelvis. Great! Let me know how it turns out--let's see some pictures! Rounding off the torso and fitting it into the pelvis is an intriguing idea. It seems to me the best way to do that would be to add plastic on to the bottom of the torso then round it off, rather rounding off the torso directly. You won't lose any height that way, and you won't risk screwing up your body cast. One obstacle to that might be not having enough space in the pelvic area. I'll think about that one!

I'll post some pics tomorrow.
That's a good point about losing height from rounding the torso, I hadn't thought about the idea too much, just throwing ideas out there.

In light of n2job's comment above, I tried extending the flexy feature to the arm sockets. It worked, but I'm not convinced it adds that much above and beyond normal sockets. It does make for a wicked crossface, though. Here's a simple method for doing it. First, take the body off so you have just the head connected to the legs by the band. Remove the arm sockets inside the body (note: this was easy for Tajiri, because the body I used for him didn't originally have inner sockets). Next, if necessary, put some plastic or whatever on the interior rim of the arm holes to prevent the arms from being pulled into the body too far. Now loop the bands around each arm peg. I experimented with a few ways of securing the loop in place. In the pic I was trying out zip ties. Turns out simple twisty ties works fine. String him back up and you're ready to go: Crossface in action 1. Crossface in action 2. Crossface in action 3.

Looks great man! Trying think of other moves that would benefit from it. Maybe bearhug, headlock, mankind finisher (underhook/butterfly ddt?)
Can't really think of much right now.
Oh and the razor pose on my profile pic. But that would need holding it i think.

I've seen you post this before and I still had to look through your page once again. What a great idea! I would love to do this to my custom collection. Can I ask, how sturdy are the figures once you've done this? Are they wobbly or loose after the modification?

Can I ask, how sturdy are the figures once you've done this? Are they wobbly or loose after the modification? No, not if you string them up with the right tension. It is essential that the figures 'snap' firmly back into place once you release stretching them in some way. I wouldn't bother doing this otherwise. Loosey goosey would be no good.
