When was the last time we had a good old-fashioned Battle Royal?
The Royal Rumble is a little different - and when they have Battle Royal now (rarely) they don't even usually mean anything....
How about a regular Battle Royal to determine the number one contender, and they get their shot the next week on RAW? Or a tag team battle royal? They don't even have battle royals on the WrestleMania pre-show anymore...
I also find myself missing the occasional garbage/weapons match - I used to get sick of them, but nowadays it seems like they hardly ever fill the ring with trash like they used to (stop signs, aluminum trash cans, kendo sticks, etc). While they over-did that stuff in the late 90's..... they almost never do it now. In the right doses, these matches are a lot of fun....
And then.... how about a "Marquis of Queensbury" series?

Steel cage. At least 1 per month That's overkill, a cage match just to fill a monthly quota takes away excitement and spontaneity.

I know its cuz of the kids but I've 3nephews and not one of them doesn't like old school Chair headshots! Children like old school chair headshots because children are stupid. Anyone with any sense has evolved past wanting to see wrestlers concussing each other on a nightly basis, dying in their thirties, murdering their families or razorblading their heads open. Man please don't get me wrong, The whole Benoit situation not one wrestling fan didn't feel for that family. That is not something I would ever debate. Yes he's been erased from wwe history but given what he did? I can understand why they need to do that but his in ring accomplishments can never be erased. I don't really wanna go into that anymore because I feel like it has been covered, on this forum and every wrestling forum. I was simply hawking back to the old days where the story's, the feuds, the action wasn't watered down, I had no intention to offend or upset and I apologize if I have done either.

Funny how you mention the old days, the actual chair shots in the old days were nothing like the ones that came into fashion in the mid 90's, and wrestling thrived without it.

Well this could open the floodgates huh? When I refer to the old days I'm referring to what's old to me and that's 99-2003, The thing that brought me into the wwe was the physicality, brutality, the headshots, announce table slammings, mankind flying off the cell... Idk why I'm even apologizing for wanting to see that again it was awesome & in my opinion the greatest era of wwe, from my childhood i remember it fondly and this is coming from somebody who hated ECW because it was to violant -.- When you mention wrestling thriving without headshots, that is true but wrestling really took off for me and my friends with the attitude era. I guess were just different types of fans with differing opinions and that's fine with me. Im glad we can discuss our opinions differing as they may be. Can't deny the passion on wfigs, Love it! ^-^

Hair Vs Hair matches.... featuring only Divas.
Wait.... what?!?!
Really though, I miss the days when a gimmick match MEANT something, when it was used to blow off a HUGE feud. The promo work alone going in to matches like that was worth it!

The promo work alone going in to matches like that was worth it! Exactly, nowadays once a year whenever they roll into Vegas they do the silly spin the wheel deal, that can see a random rematch held inside of a cage for no apparent reason other than they are in Vegas. I also hate the gimmick PPV's it takes away what made those matches special when you turn it into a yearly PPV and just plug in the combatants.

War Games First Blood
I've also always been a fan of mystery opponent/surprise return matches. I think they work really well in tag team matches. Owen Hart and Yoko at Wrestlemania XI Dustin Rhodes and Ricky Steamboat at Clash of the Champions.
I also like the idea that Sweet Bob had of bringing back time limit draws. Let every match have a time limit.

For me I'd say ladder matches, tornado tag matches, and elimination tag team matches. I forgot to add: 6 pack challenge and elimination Fatal 4 Ways. I love those types of matches yet they almost never do them.

Scramble matches.
But as a whole, I want them to cool it with the random gimmick matches.
