I would understand this EXCEPT.....Axxess usually sells out or comes pretty damn near a sell out. The cost to make this happen would clearly outweigh the gain. This seems to be done more out of spite than smart business.

Eh, whatever. There's probably enough privately owned places for a few shows to exist. If it's just Santa Clara then that leaves like San Francisco proper, Oakland, etc. There's 9 counties in that bay area and if I'm correct, a decent train system runs through most of it. There's no way every other part of that area would sign onto this.

Spiteful and stupid. Wrestlemania weekend is a celebration for the world of professional wrestling. These events dont draw any attention away from Wrestlemania itself, and they don't interfere with WWE's events in any way. Last I checked, they weren't having any trouble selling out Axxess sessions.
Buildings should be able to book whatever the hell they want. It's just another reason (on an already large list) for many fans to spring the cash and travel to Wrestlemania. WWE can't possibly feel threatened by these small time promotions, so all it does it make them come off as a bully.

Smart move on WWE's part but unnecessary. They do very good business as it is on those weekends. I don't have a problem with independents trying to sponge off the increased crowds. It's good for the industry. Kinda like Black Friday.

Wont ever work. Plus I rather spend $50 to see a great wrestling show than $75 for an over crowded axxess experience.

WWE is just trying to go full on heel on us. First they fire Chris Hero. Second, they don't hire the American Wolves. Third, they don't enter Bryan into the Rumble. Now they're trying to make it a lot harder for Wrestlecon, ROH, and other events to take place within the area.

Makes me not want to go to Wrestlemania. I want to see Wrestlemania but if Trent is wrestling In the same town I want to see him too.

That's pretty tacky from a company that supposedly doesn't even view TNA as competition. Last time I checked, plenty of WWE HOFers & Legends work both AXXESS and WrestleCon. It's a wrestling filled weekend for fans from so many places to meet as many wrestlers and enjoy as much wrestling as possible. The fact that WWE is actively trying to inconvenience fans who are going to go to that stuff anyway is a joke.
Sorry, but once upon a time WWE tried to boost the entire wrestling industry. Now their product sucks, and they are operating out of fear that companies like ROH or DGUSA are going to steal pennies from them? It's a slap in the face to the men and women who work their asses off for our entertainment and to the fans that support the craft as a whole. I get it, leech every penny possible, but it doesn't make it ok imo.

I think this might only affect the fans who would attend these non-WWE events out of convenience. For the diehard wrestling fans, they will travel an extra 15 miles out of the main area to attend a WC, ROH, etc. It will only annoy the fans, but it won't stop them.

This could be one of the stupidest things I've ever heard come from the WWE and I've heard plenty over the years.

Conventions and promotions could easily go to the next town over and be just as successful, especially in that area where there's a lot of places to go. Really stupid and unneeded, but it's not gonna kill the indies or conventions. People that were going to go will still go either way.

Am I the only one who doesn't see this as such a big deal? Seems like a smart business move, forces fans to attend their own events or nothing. Is it the kindest thing? No. But WWE isn't in business of making money for everyone in the industry. WWE is in business of making money for its investors.
