I'd be more inclined to believe this story if the city that didn't give Batista a good reaction was Chicago, Brooklyn, Detroit, Seattle, etc as they actually get PPVs. But Dayton? That's like saying "Winnipeg didn't give WWE a response they didn't like, so we're punishing them by not giving them a PPV." YOU WEREN'T GIVING THEM A PPV ANYWAYS YOU ASSWIPES (although a Canadian city should get a PPV again imo).

It probably has more to do with Batista returning during an Orton segment. They have Batista out there feuding with Orton.
Even if Warrior came back out, if it's during an Orton segment, who's going to care?
Imagine the pop if it was Batista vs Daniel Bryan or Punk.

That is bullsh*t. Because they didn't love who the WWE wanted to push the city is not going to get any further WWE shows? WWE! If anything they should stop going to cities that give crap reactions to all wrestlers in general.

Typical WWE response. Its the crowd's fault. In pro wrestling there is no such thing as a bad crowd....just a poor show. Not at all. It is the crowds fault, they did not want Batista and were unhappy about it thus the lack of pop. Its just their fault for not paying attention. They think that they will get the pop they want if they try it some where else. Like Amanda Knox.. she was guilty then aqquited now shes guilty again... they just keep trying the same thing until they get the result they want.

WWE can pretend its a bad crowd, but really what it was....a bad show and the crowd let you know.

That should have been the sign right there. Instead WWE chooses to place the blame on Ohio instead of giving people something that will make them interested.

WWE's most recent PPV visits in Ohio: Columbus - Bad Blood, June 2004 Cincinnati - Cyber Sunday, November 2006 Cleveland - Unforgiven, September 2008 Dayton - King of the Ring, June 1993 Yeah, Ohio was in the high running for some upcoming PPVs. Also that building had 5-10k less than what WWE normally runs. I don't see this really being a big deal. Unforgiven in cleveland in 2008 was absolutely incredible, scramble matches AND jericho won the belt that night...I wish I could relive that moment

Why the eff would WWE ever hold a PPV in Dayton in the first place?
Dayton is less than an hour from Columbus and Cincinnati.
I lived in Columbus for 5+ years and Dayton is a small, crap town (no offense).

Blame the crowd? How about blaming his skinny jeans and Pitbull starter kit?

It reminds me of how WWE didn't do another show at Hammerstein because the crowd crapped on Big Show and, coincidentally, Batista during a live ECW on SciFi. I was at that show and TV didn't do that crowd justice. The crowed figuratively pulled down their pants and too a giant dump on the match. It was a match that nobody, and I mean nobody wanted to see. Its sad the match of the night was a dark match. It reminds me of how WWE didn't do another show at Hammerstein because the crowd crapped on Big Show and, coincidentally, Batista during a live ECW on SciFi. WWE never ran Hammerstein for years anyway, did they? They booked Hammerstein only for the One Night Stand PPVs and ECW taping, but it became clear that ECW tapings weren't cost-effective so it got folded into Smackdown tapings. Hammerstein hadn't been a WWE venue since the nineties, had it? The reason for the Hammerstein Ballroom 8.1.06 ECW on Sci-Fi show was the WWE was doing a Australia tour. The previous night, SmackDown was taped in conjunction with RAW at the Continental Airlines Arena (now Izod Center). Yeah, it was the home for the RAW tapings in the early to mid 1990's I believe. Also I think they stopped going to Hammerstein because it wasn't cost effective (it only holds 3,000 at max capacity) and I believe Hammerstein is booked pretty heavily. The Hammerstein Ballroom didn't hold any RAW episodes in the 90's. You are confusing it with the Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom which sits on the 7th floor of the Manhattan Center. RAW was eventually moved out in favor of doing it in venues that can seat 3k-9k people. Watch any RAW from 1993-1996/1997 and you'll see they were doing RAW's at smaller venues. In 1997, RAW was moved from smaller scale venues to mid-range arenas. Towards the tail end of 1997, RAW was beginning to be held in actual large scale arenas.

Dayton is crap and I'm surprised we got Bret Harts return, let alone Batistas.
