Hi Guys,
Again a big thank goes to the former owner, who gave me the Chance, to own this Beauty too!
Also already graded into a 5mm UV Case + COA, F - 90%, P - 90%, Overall a 90% score. Unreleased Mailaway Prototype Bret "The Hitman" Hart, with black elbow pads, white wrist tapes and black stars on boots back of trunks Enjoy.

VERY cool figure! But doesn't the Bret in the mail away ad have a much lighter skin tone? Same as the Bret in the 1994 toy fair catalogue (with different coloured elbow pads).
Would this not just be considered a variant?

The Bret is identical to the one used in the magazine mailaway advert.
I have my reservations on it actually being a prototype though and I am unsure how the graders could confirm this.
Some of these Brets were put on the red cards. This wouldn't make it a prototype, but as you say, a variant.

You don't see any difference in skin tone? Look below at the difference between Hulk & Bret. It's the same paint job for sure, but the base looks like the first Bret figure then they then decided to give him a tan later on. Also, check out the Toy Fair image showing the series 8 Bret figure below - to me that's the same skin tone as the mail away and yet another variant.
