Only reason Macho got a nice jacket was that the DM line had a higher budget to work with.
I would expect plastic but cloth would be cool. I don't care either way, I just want a Ric Flair Mattel figure!

A rubber one would pretty much go right in the trash

I'm happy either way. If it's plastic, I'll just use the Jakks fabric robe (on my Flair fix-up) which looks great. Since I only display my figures, I'll happy with whatever looks best.

Look, I'm with whoever said that if they could make robes for Mr. Wonderful & Damien Sandow - they can do a Ric Flair robe, even with the feathering. ...they also did a great cloth one for E4 John Morrison too. I'm in two minds about it... my gut reaction is for a cloth robe, but the plastic ones (eg. Goldust) look great too. I guess as long as it looks good, I'll be happy with either. And there's bound to be a few Flair figures, so maybe we'll get both down the line?

Mattel will do an amazing job with this figure either way, although I am amused by some of the comments in this thread.

if the first Flashback Flair Mattel makes comes with an alienrubberplastic robe im done collecting WWE figures You'll still collect. Hopefully it does come with a plastic robe instead. It allows for more detail. E6 Goldust' robe would not have looked anywhere near as impressive if it were cloth, same goes for Regals. You can even compare the Jakks and Mattel's version of Triple H's Wrestlemania 22 attire. Jakks was cloth and looked like crap. Mattel went the plastic route and it looked more realistic and less flimsy.

^ that was done in the Entrance Greats line though - unless Mattel have a new high-end/collectible line planned, Flair will be a standard Flashback.

you're missing the GIANT cloth cape
and Entrance greats were BASICS priced at $19.99
Elites are almost that price, at most stores, and MORE than that price at others. (i was at a kmart the other day and Elite 26 was on the pegs at $19.99)
my point is, Mattel absolutely CAN and SHOULD do a nicely detailed cloth robe for a potential Flair flashback. it doesn't have to be his WM 24 robe with full feathers and massive wingspan.
The Jakks Classic Series 2 or Classic Series 20 are perfect Flair robes. Although I'd rather them not do another red robe...but whatever, as long as it's "cloth"

Personally, I hope it's a plastic robe so it doesn't take away all the budget from the modern figures in its set.

I don't see what the big deal is other than the plastic is a bit of a pain to get on and off. I only loose display though so I have no problem with either version. The Goldust robe was awesome. It's all relative to what you want to do with it I guess. I just want a Flair. I'd rather go to bat for getting a color other than red over worrying about the robe material.

Sandow got a cloth robe so I would assume Flair will too.

Maybe Mattel will just be sick of us complaining already - and just do Ric Flair in a suit......

I personally would prefer plastic. Outside of (most) shirts, I personally think the plastic stuff looks better.

Yea I'd take cloth all day over rubber garbage ..but question is also which flair do we get late 90's wcw flair with wcw title or us title, 2000's flair in wwe ,or early 90's wwe flair or 80's flair ..which flair could it be cause there's so many possibilities ??
