How does everyone feel about the current stages? I remember when the Mini Trons came out, I though it was cool and added a bit to the entrance. When they added the side trons I thought it was over the top. Now there are about 5-6 different graphic loops on a million different screens. To me, It doesn't look organized at all. It looks cheap and unrefined to me.
And I talk too bout the stages because when each ppv rolls around the stages just look like they said... okay how can we put as many screens as we can here...
Back before this, they actually played around with the structure of the entrance to make it more themed.

I preferred when it was just the tron, and underneath it was the entrance. The minitron was cool at first like you said but its almost an eye sore with all the cap they have going on now.

I was never a fan of the WWE HD Stages. I prefer setups like the Smackdown fist stage or the old RAW stage from 2005.

I miss the old entrance stage from the "Raw is War" days (Titan Tron with entrance below, with steel ramp) or even the neon entrance stage from back in the WWF days. To me, less is more. They should save the over the top crazy/elaborate stages for PPV's like they use to.

I do miss the old PPV stages when they were really over the top. Made the shows feel a lot more important. One of my wrestling memories as a child was looking forward to what the set would be for the next PPV, then trying to recreate it with my figs the next day. Good times.

Once I set up the WM20 stage (which I think was the best one) by having a computer screen in the back then another one laying flat that they would walk on. I had it hooked up to my pc and ran titantrons on both of them. Worked pretty well especially since it was like 5 years ago  |

WWE should just the old school RAW stage for RAW, and the fist stage for SD. Give either RAW red ropes or red white and blue ropes with the blue mats on the outside of the ring, blue steel steps, steel barricades and go all old school and give SD blue ropes

This was the only good set they've had since 2008: The second I stepped off the concourse at MetLife my jaw dropped. Easily one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. Without a doubt the best stage they've had period in many years. |

I like them just fine, but I wish they'd stop using the same damn set ups for Pay-Per-Views. There was absolutely no effort at the Rumble. It was the normal stage without a ramp. Seriously? It's the Royal Rumble.

I liked the change. It was certainly better then the LED puzzles they have for basically every show. Mania 29 and Mania 27 have been two of my favorite stages in the past 10 years. |

They're OK. I preferred the Raw Supershow stage used prior to Raw 1000, that looked pretty nice.

I don't mind them for Raw and Smackdown but wish they would go back to PPV specific stages.
I know it's probably cost effective to keep the same stage and just updated graphics and make minor changes but the stage adds a lot to the atmosphere of an event. They still go big with Wrestlemania which is good but a little more effort into the other 11 PPVs would be nice.

The white ropes is what irks me the most.
RAW should have Red ropes.
Smackdown should have Blue ropes.
And now that the Network "reveals" that Superstars is filmed before RAW/SD, who cares if the ropes change colors during the show?
As for the stages, I really loved the later 2001 set for RAW where they changed the WWF logo to a Minitron, and for Smackdown it was any variation of the Fist arena from 01-08. I suppose the RAW sets from 02-05 and 05-08 were good too.
And I think I prefer the 08-11 HD Stage over the current one, as it looked less "PPV-ish". The current one is MASSIVE, and looks the same as most of the PPVs half the time.

The reasoning with the change in rope colors is because dark colors will make the overall presentation look dark. RAW hasn't had red ropes since the April 5th, 2010 edition of RAW. The April 12th, 2010 edition of RAW was the first one with the all white rope scheme. As far as SmackDown is concerned, the last edition SmackDown to have blue ropes aired on December 7th, 2012. The December 14th, 2012 edition of SmackDown was the first to utilize the all white rope scheme. |

I used to obsess over the entrance ways so Im pretty bummed out everything is the same now and the white ropes are just getting to be too much, ya, they are pretty in HD, we get it.
