Because McMurray scored more points than Logano and neither had a Chase eligible victory? McMurray didn't run any better. Jamie McMurray ran "better" enough to score more points than Joey Logano and had a 91 point advantage following Darlington. There were five drivers between McMurray in 9th and Logano in 15th. That's how poorly Joey Logano ran since his encumbered victory at Richmond back in the spring. They showed a graphic on the pre-race where Logano had basically 100-something swing in the points between winning at Richmond and heading into Richmond yesterday. If there was ever a living example of someone crapting the bed in this championship format, that's Joey Logano. Jamie McMurray making the "playoffs" over Joey Logano isn't bullcrap.. it's far from it.

So, anybody care to take a bet: Truex against the field for the championship? I think this is his year. I think someone said it best last night, Truex is the favorite going in unless he and Larson are 2 of the 4 in Homestead, then it switches to Larson because he typically runs better there.

Speaking of Joey Logano's failure to win again and secure his position in the post-season.. Nascar is upset with Brad over his comments. I don't often say this but for once I agree with Brad. We deserve a better car design that will create better on track racing. The Gen6 was fine until Team Penske stopped contending for wins but aye that's none of my business. LOL. ![](http://31.media.tumblr.com/3106348112ad2769659a114e3689b0ad/tumblr_nmsf43ikYV1tq4of6o1_500.gif)

McMurray didn't run any better. Jamie had 734 points compared to Joey's 605. He obviously did something better. Consistency, no wins. and Plus if Joey didn't get his win encumbered he would be in. Just tired of mediocre drivers making the playoffs.

Just tired of mediocre drivers making the playoffs. If Jamie's year has been "mediocre" and he was 129 points ahead of Joey, what does that say about Joey's year? Don't get mad at Jamie for making it in over Joey, get mad at Joey and Team Penske for blowing it by getting caught breaking the rules and running bad ever since. They had every chance to win again or point their way in, but they couldn't. You should be mad at them for not being able to have a better year than a "mediocre driver".

Just tired of mediocre drivers making the playoffs. You're right that Jamie McMurray made the playoffs on consistency but Chase Elliott and Matt Kenseth did the same thing. Why single out Jamie McMurray? You don't seem to have an issue with them making the championship playoffs on consistency. We're more than likely never going to see 16 different winners throughout the season so someone is always going to be consistent enough to make the playoffs. The hilarious part of calling McMurray "mediocre" is that he's got the sixth best average finish among all full-time drivers in 2017 including Joey Logano. Joey had 17 races between Richmond I and Richmond II to get another victory but he failed to accomplish that task. The kick in the pants for Logano is while he was failing to find victory lane.. he was getting really poor finishes in the process and quickly dropped down in the points standings. Jamie McMurray finished ahead of Joey Logano 13 times in the 17 races that followed the encumbered victory. That is how Jamie McMurray made the playoffs and if you're going to argue that he's "mediocre" and shouldn't have made the playoffs.. then Joey Logano sure as hell doesn't belong either.

Silly Season has ramped up. Danica out of the #10 next year, Almirola out of the #43 next year and their sponsor of the last 6 Seasons Smithfield is headed to SHR. Also sounds like the #77 won't be around next year either.

I figured Danica was only going to be there for a contract cycle. I think that was the plan until this last sponsorship fiasco. Not sure what SHR was thinking getting a no name brand to sponsor a mediocre driver. That being said, sounds like Almirola going to the 10 car next year which is...meh....Stewart was my favorite driver for many years but I think Ill just fully move my allegiance back to Hendricks where it started many many many many years ago.

Jenna Fryer Needs to STFU. If she hates the way NASCAR Does things championship wise, She should stick to Indycar reporting. I hate it when leeches like her try to instigate an indycar vs. NASCAR War.

Brad Keselowski Needs To stop bitching about Toyotas. Not their fault your fords aren't fast enough to catch them.
Brad Keselowski vs. Kyle Busch is like the Bret vs. Shawn of NASCAR.

It cycles around. It was just a couple years ago Toyota drivers were bitching and whining because they were being held down. Chevy is truly the only manufacturer that is consistent through and through it seems. There's a classic MOOG poster that shows all the cup champions and 90% of them are in Chevys

Anyone bought the latest NASCAR game? Do they still make you unlock tracks? I bought last years and realized you only got 4 tracks to start off. Put it back in the case and never played it again.
