Any one of the SHR drivers seemed to have the cars to beat today. And they all got beat.

It's still questionable that FOX Sports employs Jeff Gordon to be an analyst during races when he's an executive at Hendrick Motorsports. You've got a television personality who should be viewed as an impartial viewer of the broadcast to relay information to the fans celebrating with Chase Elliott following a victory. That's beyond questionable. It's the same issue with Dale doing his work with NBC during the NASCAR XFINITY Series Race. It's an issue that NBC pointed out when they first announced that he was joining the team and proceed to ignore.

Has he ever left the broadcast booth while the network was still on the air to go celebrate with a Hendrick team? Has he done anything worse then Ned Jarrett cheering for Dale or DW cheering for Michael? Ive never been a Jeff Gordon fan, and damn you for making me defend him, but he's been extremely unbiased in his announcing. I have no problem with him celebrating with the Hendrick team under an NBC broadcast as he's not representing the FOX network at that point. I cant comment on Junior & Xfinity races as I dont watch most of them but I would imagine if he showed favoritism someone would jump all over him on social media for it.

He’s picked Hendrick Motorsports driver’s before and during races to win. I’d say that’s favoritism given that it’s a running joke that he’s going to pick a Hendrick driver. I’d say there’s a big difference between a father / brother in the booth as analysts compared to a team executive. NASCAR is the only sport, to my knowledge, that has a TV analyst that also acts as a high executive at a team and actively celebrates with said team. Gordon, no matter what part of the year, is a FOX employee. If you don’t have an issue with this, that’s fine. I just think it’s a bad look for NASCAR. I think there’s something wrong with someone who has a vested interest in the outcome of a race being apart of the broadcast. Jeff, Brad, Dale, whoever. It’s a bad look.

Kasey Kahne announced that he will not be medically cleared to drive the 95 for the remainder of the season. No word on who will, won't surprise me to see Regan Smith get that ride for the last 6 races.

Wendell Chavous also stepping away after the NCWTS race this weekend. Citing the strain of the schedule and wanting to be more of a father to his 4-year old son.

Could Carbon Monoxide poisoning be the reason Kahne is retiring early? He said symptoms of heat exhaustion. Being in the enclosed cockpit of the NASCAR cars, the firesuit, long races, etc.

Get up, get up, get up. Drop the bombshell!
Chad Knaus will be the crew chief for the 24 and William Byron in 2019. Kevin Meendering, the crew chief on the JRM 1 car and Elliott Sadler will move to the 48 MENCS team.

I have zero idea what the qualifications for a yellow anymore are. NASCAR has zero credibility at this point. It’s not about what’s best for safety but what’s best for entertainment. It’s ridiculous.
Also, the booth has to stop using “fans have asked for this” as a damn crutch.
