Does anyone have both figures? I have the Legends version of Steamboat. Ringside Collectibles recently added the Defining Moments version for sale. What is the difference between the two? The same body or different?
Side by Side pics would be awesome. Thanks.

To me the legends series steamboat is a little to small looking. So I would go with the DM Steamboat, it is a lot more detailed.

The DMs figure is better overall imo. I would take the upper body from the DMs figure and stick on the Legends 1 legs if you're alright with fixups, and then throw the gi on him, and WHC to top it off. The torso is bigger and more accurate on the DMs figure, and I like the head better as well. So really, I think you need both to make the best figure.

My big lots still had a ton of DM steamboats about a month ago for something like $10.

Here's a noob question: How do you switch upper/lower body without breaking the figure? Never done a fixup. I thought the upper body looked better on DM Steamboat, but couldn't tell without seeing a side by side. Steamboat appeared slightly bigger than Savage in real life which isn't represented in the Legends figure.

I got my DM Steamboat at Big Lots a while back for $13. The entrance gear on that sucker is amazing and really stands out in a collection.

I really like both figures but if I had to pick one I'd go for Defining Moments. Man, I miss Defining Moments figures so much

The only Steamboat I have is the 2-pack with Jericho. But DM looks great to me. The accessories capture him greatly.

I personally recommend trying it out a couple times before doing it on something you really care about but once you can do it, it's extremely fun and helpful in my opinion: wfigs.proboards.com/thread/231355/cracking-open-elite-bodies-tutorialThe DMs torso is definitely better though. If you don't want to get crazy, you could always just swap the L1 boots onto the DMs steamboat and then put the gi on him. That's far less involved and only takes hot water and a few minutes of your time. The scales on the pants make it a bit of a hybrid but it's still red and black and with the gi it gives him that late 80s look for sure. Entirely up to you. Can't go wrong with any Steamboat. I'm actually a really big fan of his 2pack figure that came with Jericho. Looks spot on for a 1994ish version of him.

If you're a Steamboat fan, get it. They're both great figures in their own right. The Legends figure is the way most of us remember Steamboat. The Defining Moments Steamboat is a great piece for any collection, Mattel did a killer job with it. But, it's from his least memorable time in the WWF. Here are photos of them side by side. Legends with the IC belt on

I'll probably end up getting DM Steamboat and switching the upper body if I like it. Or maybe I'll just do the boots. Not sure yet but I'll post pics here if I'm successful. I've always wanted Bret Hart with pink top and black bottoms (Wrestlemania 13 attire), and this tutorial should help me create that custom too.

Thanks for the pics man. I think I prefer the DM head sculpt too, with no headband and longer hair.

I still need that Legends Steamboat, but the DM Steamboat is the best/accurate one.

Legends is the more iconic look but the dm is more detailed/stand out. I'd take legends if I could only get one

Ive got both and cant see having one without the other. Legends is more definitive a version. But tht DM is so intricately detailed that it should be a must. On a side note, i hope mattel eventually gives us a Steamboat in white. Should be a no brainer to produce. I dont care if its basic or elite, just give us one!
