I didn't want to go with the usual 'Recent Pickups' or similar thread title so I took a line from a Bruce Springsteen song I'm listening to now.
Anyway, just a few new figures that arrived from Ringside a few days ago.
This is actually my second BOPPV Brock Lesnar. I didn't realise that it came with the Paul Heyman head and threw the packaging away so I had to buy another one. I'll probably end up painting the shorts black on one of them so I have a Summerslam 2013 / Royal Rumble 2014 Brock. WM30 HBK has to be one of the best figures they've released. The pants (I don't even know what those things are called) are simple to remove. The change on rubber accessories from circular rivets to the larger rectangular shaped ones are an improvement. I was able to snag a stomach hair version but I don't think I would have been bothered if the figure didn't have it. If you're an HBK fan then you'll most likely be getting this, if you're not then get it anyway. Bret Hart is another great figure but the lack of elbow pads is questionable. I had a couple of spare ones from the Ringside Exclusive Brock Lesnar which worked fine.
First off, Undertaker... Wow. The coat is phenomenal and even though its been just under two years since he first wore it, it was worth the wait. The amount of detail in it is ridiculous plus they've made the sleeves bigger so its easier to slide on and off. No heating up the jacket with a hairdryer required like other members on here have experienced with past Undertaker figures (not that any of them needed heating up anyway, I had no problems at all taking them off or any rubber jacket for that matter).
Rikishi's debut figure and Mattel didn't disappoint. He gets a new arm and knee pad mold and the resemblance on the headscan is top notch. I thought Mattel would have done Fandango in his Wrestlemania 29 attire which had minimal deco, no one expected them to do his Extreme Rules attire instead. Just like Taker's jacket, its HIGHLY detailed right down to the silver dots in his silhouette. It wouldn't surprise me if they pushed the budget on Elite 27 to the limit. And Toys R Us exclusive Triple H, its just your usual Triple H figure but with a new headscan. I would have preferred it to be based on his Extreme Rules match with Brock Lesnar so the wrist tape was black instead, just to mix it up a bit and make it stand out from his other figures. Maybe thats what his next Elite figure will be, time will tell.
An action shot...
And a current collection pic.
