Kona Crush CS Staining Issue

Yeah nothing new I'm afraid, just need to get used to it unless you do what you say and not have them touch the robes.

I just either accept it, or put separate bubble wrap layers in my figure boxes to prvent it.

The rubber becoming sticky is a really annoying thing though, since you can't do anything about it.
The only thing I can think of is keep them out of the box, or get them out every month or more to allow air to circulate, seems to prevent any further degrading.
Funny that my ML collection has rubber/plastic, and no stickyness, although I've had them displayed on my shelves for years. They're also different materials, so doubt my ML's will suffer from Jakks problems.

Yeah, just a couple short years ago you could get a Crush for between 10-15 bucks. Now they're hovering around the 50 mark. On a side note, i have seen the sticky residue popping up more often on some of the older Mattel DCUC figures now too. I hope this isnt something their wrestling line will eventully suffer from as well.

That's the oil coming out from the rubber jacket but i notice it doesn't affect my earlier Jakks like CS Paul Bearer. Only the later ones for me are sticky.

If u wanna prevent a stain, perhaps putting some baby powder on the figure would help so it doesn't further stain.. I know, it's strange.

The robes on Jakks stuff stains the bodies because the dye was never really set. Soak the robes in vinegar to set the dyes to avoid staining.

On the figures it's already happened on, you can bleach the stains from bare plastic with Zit cream. Just apply it and leave the figure in the sun. Benzyl Peroxide is in the zit cream and the sun activates it. It's a trick vinyl doll collectors have used for years and it worked on all my stained Ric Flairs. It might take weeks for the stains to really bleach out, but it works wonders.

Don't use the zit cream on painted parts as it will bleach it but on bare plastic, it'll help a lot.

I bought about 45 ruthless figures last year from a guy who had them stored in boxes in his garage, and I noticed a faint stickiness to them. I have them out now and they don't seem so bad. I never knew what the heck Wd wrong with them, so this is interesting to learn.
