Now I know there's been a dozen CM Punk topics on here in the past month or so, but I don't think anyone ever has talked about this regarding him.
Has CM Punk damaged his WWE career??
Meaning this, let's say a year from now, CM Punk gets the itch and wants to come back to the WWE. Now, CM Punk does make WWE money, but what would happen if he did come back??
Would Triple H and Vince job him out constantly because of what he's done now?? Would the fans welcome him back?? Would the boys in the WWE be okay with Punk being back??
I know Austin walked out on the WWE, but he didn't cut off any ties either. He still talked to Jim Ross, and said he was just burnt out and then when he came back, said he regretted how he walked out and such. But with CM Punk, I can't see him regretting this. But I can also see him being so brash that he feels he could just walk right back into the WWE's 'open door policy'.
So what do you guys think?? Has Punk damaged his career forever with the WWE??

Not at all. He walked away, he had enough. More power to him.

Idk that he's damaged his career moving forward. The almighty $ speaks volumes...
And WWE listens well.
That said, I sincerely believe he's tarnished his OVERALL career. I know I look at him in a less positive light, now. Historically speaking, those who don't play well with the team (or company, in this case) are usually the ones left behind -- or have an asterisk next to their name when talking about figures in history.
I wouldn't want my kid saying "I wanna be CM Punk someday" at this point. That's a problem. But it can be fixed. And he can be champion again. Again -- it's all about the $$$

Just like how Lesnar lost his first match back, you can bet your skinny fat ass ( Hopefully someone will get that ) that Punk will job in his first match atleast.
Though, RAW has been more than fine without him and I don't even miss him a little so, he can stay grumpy for decades to come for all I care.

Like I said, he did what any man who has had enough at any job would do. Let's make no mistake being a Professional Wrestler is as much a job as any other. Also I would hope you would have your kids grow up like him. He is drug free and lives a great lifestyle.

I think it did. Even though he was the #2 mercy seller until last month, I think the fan interest has waned. Dude walked out on not only the business, but most importantly the fans.

I don't think he damaged his career. If he ever got the itch to wrestle again, I bet he would go to Japan before going to WWE. At this point, I actually can say I don't miss the guy that much, and this is coming from someone would went to the RAW after Night of Champions JUST to see CM Punk. I got wrestlers like Bryan, Cesaro, Shield, Wyatts to mark out for, so he isn't missed by me. I would however mark out IF he comes back to WWE.

And he may be straight edge, that's great for him. Bravo. He's still a quitter; nobody likes a quitter. And before he crippled himself, my arse. He quit because he wasn't getting his way. Even the initial stories that were spun in his favor came across that way.

When he returns...he will probably return on a part time basis and continue his hypocritical streak.

Yup.
Not because he didn't anything super unforgivable, but he made Triple H feel like a feud with him isn't special. HHH feels it's an honor to work with himself...so if Triple H had any say in the matter (which I'm not sure how much sway he has with the WWE main roster), he wouldn't be working for WWE for a long, long time.

I'd rather he be gone and off my TV screen then miserable and not fully committed. I scored front row tickets to a house show coming into town in two months. I'm more excited to see The Shield, Cesaro and Daniel Bryan than anything else. I'm not even remotely upset that Punk won't be there.

I said this way back when he did his pipe bomb, I'll say it again. As an Entertainer, I sincerely believe you owe your celebrity, your fame -- and your money -- to the fans. Yes, you put in the work. Yes, you put in the time. But they choose whether or not to like you. Whether or not to invest their time, and money, into you. No matter how it's cut, I've not seen or read anything yet, that shows me that he did anything more than walk away from the fans. I can't blame him for walking away from the business. We all have pains with our jobs. But when you have people who idolize you -- including kids -- you owe them something. At least an explanation. You say he left for health reasons -- why? He only had a few months left on his contract anyways. I'm calling BS. For the fans alone, he should have at the VERY least, stuck those last few months out, and gave the fans a "maybe I'll see ya later" speech. He owed it to them (us). Instead, he did what was best for Phil Brooks and just bolted. Not cool, bro.
