1-0, not bad. Wish Lee didn't look so bad though, and I still have the urge to kick B.J. Rosenberg in the ing head. Atleast the offense looked good, hopefully this year won't turn out as bad as I predicted. Might even have a very slight chance at a WC, if the lineup stays healthy, and the bullpen doesn't murder us. I think the Phillies biggest problem is going to be steroids. Y'all have a few older guys with history. Hope they stay clean. Love Byrd. I think their biggest problem will be injuries, especially with the majority of the team in their mid-30s. Having Hamels on the DL already isn't good.

I knew the ing bullpen would bite us in the ass. No idea why in the they would bring in Rosenberg in that spot, after how terrible he looked yesterday. Put Lincoln or Manship in there dammit! Have to admit, I really liked Burnett. I was skeptical of signing him, but now I'm glad they did.

My hope is that the Braves play decent this year. We lost a few guys in the off-season.

My hope is that the Braves play decent this year. We lost a few guys in the off-season. For whatever reason, I am not that optimistic this season. Obviously, losing 2 of our best pitchers have lessen my optimism. I don't think these guys will hit enough to be honest. BJ will be garbage, Uggla trash, Justin will be hot/cold, I see Gattis as a low average power guy. I hope I am wrong. A. Harang pitched great today. Wood was great the day before. The pitching can still be good once we have Minor, Tehran, Santana, Wood, Harang, Floyd, Hale. We still got some depth there if Harang is decent and Floyd. I just worry about having slightly above average SP coupled with poor hitting. We don't do the little things to advance runners. Nearly half of our wins last year were come from behind. You can't expect that this year, but a big part of that was the bullpen which remains largely intact.

I'm with ya on the less than optimal side. Where's the BJ Upton that was a 30/30 guy like 2 years ago. Uggla at this point, we're gonna get whatever we get because he's terminally inconsistent. Lets hope Freeman validates his contract. Justin Upton should be ok, but needs to find his D'Backs form before I start thinking we'll be anything than an average hitting team with average starters and a good bullpen.

I tell you what... watching the Brewers a little bit during the opening week has me thinking they could be sneaky good. A lot of talent and solid pitching on that squad.

Brew Crew is always hanging around. Last year was an off year. Though the division is much more competitive this year than it was two years ago when they competed. The Cards are coming off of a WS run, the Pirates are WS contenders (drops over dead), Reds are the Reds so who knows who will show up, and the Cubs are a year away from contending. Maybe they spark early? The NL Central will be the division to watch the next couple of years, and as a fan of a team within that division, it is geeky cool.

Afer 14 on Opening Day, the Phillies have scored 5 since. In two games. And it's awesome to see PapelBLOWN in midseason form. Brian Wilson is on the DL and he can still pitch better.

I feel like I am the only one who actually thinks the Cardinals are the only team in the division that will make the playoffs this year. I don't think the Pirates, Reds or Brewers will finish under .500, but I don't see them as playoff teams. Not saying that they can't be, by any means, I just don't think they will.
