I like the addition of Gabriel to NXT, he fits in well here and I hope that it's a regular thing. Not that it makes a difference to the booking of the diary, but I hope you give Breeze a new finisher soon because like you said in your podcast, the Beauty Shot just doesn't look impactful enough to keep someone down for the 3 count. Enzo/Big Cass push! <3 Love Brodus ditching the Funkasaurus gimmick to become more of a monster. He, like Gabriel, could be a solid addition to the NXT roster. Would have been interesting for Banks to turn on Charlotte in the match, setting up Banks/Paige but the 4 way works too. It's an interesting finish. Paige looked great being the one offering to make it a 4 way but no doubt that will end up costing her as I can't see her walking out of Takeover with the title. Banks ftw! Big win for Kalisto over Grey. Looking forward to seeing what you do with Kalisto and whether you go down the Lucha Dragons route or not. Fun tag main event with Rose being the one taking the pinfall making most sense. Zayn/Graves has huge amounts of potential so I'm looking forward to seeing more of that over the next couple of weeks. I know you're a big NXT fan and it shows as it's such a fun read.

I like that you have Oliver Grey around still. He'd be great with a James Bond esque gimmick, with like the Dean Malenko theme from 2000/2001. Diva's battle royal ending the way it did sets up a great fatal four way match, that im looking forward too. Glad to see Corey Graves still wrestling as well, you could do awesome things with him. Also looking forward to seeing what you do with Solomon Crowe, was a big fan of him in PWG.

WWE Extreme Rules: Sunday 4th May 2014…Alright, let’s see what we have here. I bet that the Kickoff match would have been a decent one, although I have to question why Christian went over. I suppose that Kofi Kingston has held the United States Championship time after time, but at the same time I don’t think WWE would trust Christian with the title in 2014. Nonetheless, a fun opening bout for the live crowd on the Extreme Rules Kickoff, and I love you for combining it in the same post with the actual pay-per-view write-up. I believe that the ladder match for the WWE Tag Team Championships opening the main card was the best decision possible, given that with four solid talents like the Usos and the Real Americans, they would definitely deliver. This is the match that truly adds credibility to Jimmy and Jey’s first reign as champions, and I hope that they have even more threats to their title reign after Cesaro and Jack Swagger. My gripe however is that it never felt like you were planning to change the titles, considering that you had Cesaro and Swagger threatening the split-up going into this bout. I think one way you could have changed this is if they won the belts briefly, just to lose them on television a few days later because of their dissension. Either way, it seems like Cesaro’s turning face after attacking Swagger – although I hope you keep Swagger and Zeb Colter relevant moving forward. Additionally I hope that the Usos have a lengthy reign as champs in leading the division. It was strange to see Dolph Ziggler and Alberto Del Rio in the comedown match given their abilities to put on a solid match-up, but I bet that this is just the beginning for Ziggler’s bigger push into prominence. Ziggler winning doesn’t bother me, although I have to wonder what is next for Del Rio. Meanwhile, I suspect that Bo Dallas will be making his debut tomorrow night on RAW, considering his build-up vignettes over the past few weeks. I imagine that Big E and Sheamus would put on a decent match, albeit slightly weird with the size difference. Sheamus winning the Intercontinental Championship was pretty expected though, coming fresh off of his heel turn on television a few weeks back. I do hope that Big E is protected coming off of this loss, though. He held the title for five months, after all. Next, a good position for the next chapter of the John Cena and Bray Wyatt rivalry…or even last? I’m not sure, I kind of hoped you would go on with another rematch taking place at Payback ala real life, because Cena and Wyatt’s feud was glorious in terms of the layers of depth it had. It’s a shame that it seems to be done from here – a curious question however is how you choose to split the Wyatt Family up. Could it be soon, perhaps? Cena pretty much killing Wyatt with the steel steps was a glorious finish, and I did like the moments after the match. Who knows your direction from this point – could this lead to the next step of their rivalry? I guess Corporate Kane will be going back behind the mask after being rejected from the main event War Games match? Alexander Rusev beating the Big Show was fine, probably as good as it possibly could be. The Accolade probably got Rusev over more, so this was a vital part and in a good filler position on the card. A filler setting up for…the Divas Championship submission match. Okay! I can live with that. AJ Lee retaining the title against Paige makes me raise an eyebrow – are you building Paige up further before she finally wins the big one, or are you going in a different direction? Very strange to see though, as I think this may have deflated Paige’s momentum. AJ continuing her long reign, huh? I’m not sure what to think about Rob Van Dam and Bad News Barrett going on this late into the show, it just feels out of place up here. Barrett winning was for the best, given that he’s the younger star and you’re establishing him by beating a veteran like RVD, who is just here to put over rising stars during this run. It definitely felt like a filler match, with the War Games main event on the next: and it sounded solid. It’s hard to visualise the War Games match in the WWE environment, though. It sounded like a fun match, and it had a decent write-up to it – this is where you should divide the matches into separate paragraphs though, as it appeared as a big wall of text. Bryan and the Shield winning made sense, as it further demonstrates how to make Bryan look strong as the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and sets the Shield up for the upcoming summer season. I’m just curious where your plans go for Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose…could it still include Evolution? I guess we’ll find out soon enough. Not a bad edition of Extreme Rules here setting things up for what comes next with the road to Payback.
WWE Monday Night RAW: Monday 5th May 2014…Alright, Beat the Clock challenge to determine the next top contender to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship? I’m intrigued, though suspecting that Randy Orton (who still deserves his rematch for the titles) and Batista (who deserves his singles match for the WWE World Heayyweight Championship shot properly after the triple threat stipulation happened at WrestleMania XXX). Big way to kick off RAW with Daniel Bryan facing Sheamus in a champion versus champion match – I do think this should have been announced in advance though, given that these guys are the top two champions in the WWE right now. Kane attacking Bryan in the mask is a nice callback, but this makes me think you’re planning on having Kane win the title – unless this simply sets up for RAW next week or a mini-television storyline. Either way this was a strong way to kick off RAW without doing a promo. Speaking of an opening promo, here comes Evolution members – and I suspected that you would go ahead with the Shield feuding with them after Extreme Rules: let’s just hope the build for this angle is done differently than the variable singles matches setting up for War Games in weeks prior. A match made for Payback – I wonder if this will be their only encounter or not. Christian calling Renee Young ‘Rachel’ made me laugh in confusion, but that’s his old character speaking. Rob Van Dam beating Alberto Del Rio…damn, times have changed since last year’s Hell in a Cell. Strange to see RVD beat Del Rio, but he’s definitely not winning this Beat the Clock gimmick at ten minutes. I guess Del Rio could be on his way out now? John Cena’s promo set the stage for what could be interesting, and I liked the emphasis on Cena having intimidated his fanbase – it’s an interesting, unique angle to go with and I am ecstatic that you continued with Bray Wyatt and the Wyatt Family being Cena’s antagonists in this storyline extension. It sets the stage for Payback’s big climax to this angle, and them assaulting Cena made the fans fear the Wyatts more – probably on a level higher than the fear they have for Cena. Rightfully so. It took ten minutes for Dolph Ziggler to put away Jack Swagger? I get you keeping Swagger credible coming off of the Real Americans’ divide from Cesaro last night – and that Ziggler is best in this “steal the show” role, barely beating the clock: but Ziggler’s push should be on a higher level than having a long, decisive match with Swagger. It might have been a bad choice of opponent. Oh, the winner of this Beat the Clock challenge gets a shot at the United States Championship? My bad. Ziggler was kind of an afterthought as your emphasis after the match was on continuing the Real Americans divide continue. Zeb Colter’s taken Swagger’s side as expected – now the question is whether this remains as a television feud or segues onto the card for Payback instead. Bo Dallas with more vignettes? I’m wondering where Bo will finally make his debut – I liked the references to his NXT career, but I don’t think it was too necessary reminding us of the past. WWE and NXT’s story arcs are completely different at this point and barely compared. Cody Rhodes and Goldust with another win against…Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara? Big rub for Rhodes and Goldust at least – but where are they going from here? I suppose another chance to win the WWE Tag Team Championships from the Usos? It’s a decent buffer prior to the Usos’ expected feud with the Wyatt Family, at least. The wording of the Authority’s angle with Sheamus backstage made it seem like Kane had gone his separate ways from the Authority – which could be a good spin since Sheamus is a more athletic version of Kane for them here. Bad News Barrett losing out on a United States Championship shot against Kofi Kingston makes a fun scenario, but now it’s interesting where his character goes from here. I am glad you included this, to be honest. The Usos’ interview was…meh really. Could have been better suited on Main Event or SmackDown instead, because it was very vague and non-newsworthy. AJ Lee and Paige’s angle is continuing? Could be cool, I guess. The Bella Twins beat Eva Marie and Summer Rae…I guess this means it’s Total Divas season! Woopdy doo. Kane and Daniel Bryan’s angle cropping up again was cool, but it’s strange to see this happen here. Another beatdown for Bryan may make Kane look threatening, but on the other hand makes Bryan look like a chump of a champion beaten down twice in one night. Lana and Rusev’s promo was very fun – I like the carnival-style setup here with lasting five minutes with the Bulgarian-turned-Russian. And finally, a fun tag team main event with Batista and Randy Orton regaining all lost momentum from the post-WrestleMania period against Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. Sheamus’ addition was very fun too, as it puts over how valuable he can be as a part of the Authority now. I do hope in the next few weeks however that Bryan and Kane gets the main event angles over Evolution and the Shield’s business. I’m excited to maybe see a War Games rematch without the steel cage gimmicks as a RAW main event at some point, as well. That could maybe draw a good rating. Overall, an expected edition of RAW following Extreme Rules ironing things out real nice for the next step of build for Payback. Good work.

Friday Night Smackdown: May 9th, 2014 – First Niagara Center in Buffalo, New York
Smackdown opens with a vide package that recaps the big tag team main event from Raw this past Monday. Batista and Randy Orton defeated Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, thanks to an assist from the WWE Intercontinental Champion, Sheamus. Sheamus then shook hands with Triple H himself, aligning with the Authority. Instantly, we are taken to a shot of a street in New York. Sheamus appears in front of the camera and starts to speak. “Last Monday, I chose to side with the Authority and everyone has been wondering why. Well, tonight I’m going to one of me favorite pubs in the world, Blarney Stone. In there, Byron Saxton will meet me later tonight and proceed to interview me about my actions. I figure while I wait for him, I can have myself a little celebration for winning this.” He taps the Intercontinental Title on his shoulder and heads into the bar.
BAD NEWS BARRETT VS. DEAN AMBROSE; According to Michael Cole, the Authority has decided to place all three members of the Shield in separate singles matches tonight while Evolution has the night off. Bad News Barrett, in a foul mood from failing in the Beat the Clock Challenge on Raw, comes out of the block in a very aggressive manner. He pounds away on Dean Ambrose through the early portions, but the “Lunatic Fringe” of the Shield rallies, nailing a rebound lariat that nearly takes Barrett’s head off. The fans are firmly behind Ambrose as he takes out Barrett with a suicide dive. He rolls Barrett inside the ring and sets up for the Dirty Deeds but is stopped in his tracks when the theme music of Evolution hits. He drops Barrett and turns his attention to the stage, daring Evolution to come out. However, they never appear but when Ambrose turns around, he is met with a vicious Bull Hammer for the win. Bad News Barrett defeats Dean Ambrose!
Bad News Barrett celebrates his win as Michael Cole mentions that some may consider this an upset. He gloats around the ring before exiting as Dean Ambrose gets to his knees and looks pissed off at the outcome and the Evolution theme music playing.
The above graphic appears reminding us that Dolph Ziggler, winner of the Beat the Clock Challenge this past Monday, will be getting the United States Title shot that he earned in our main event tonight against Christian!
The top ten things watched on the WWE Network this week is listed. Extreme Rules 2014, Legends House and NXT are the key things viewed. KOFI KINGSTON AND ROB VAN DAM VS. REY MYSTERIO AND SIN CARA; Before the match officially starts, a picture in picture promo from Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam airs. They say that they both suffered tough losses at Extreme Rules and have decided to team up to right the ships of their careers and become Tag Team Champions. Sin Cara and Rey Mysterio have been struggling, but look good tonight, executing most moves perfectly. Both team excite the fans as this is a match with non-stop quick action. Unfortunately, Mysterio seems to land on his leg awkwardly at one point, and is pretty much of it from there on out. This allows RVD to hit a Five Star Frog Splash on Sin Cara that ends the match. Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam defeat Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara!
Despite picking up a big win on their first night of teaming together, Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam are unable to fully enjoy it because they are concerned for Rey Mysterio. He has to have officials come down, and, in a show of good sportsmanship, RVD and Kofi help him leave.
A recap airs showing the events of this past Monday night between Daniel Bryan and Kane. Bryan was in the midst of a classic match with Sheamus when Kane appeared to cause the disqualification. It didn’t end there as Kane then had the audacity to target Bryan’s new wife, Brie Bella, later in the show. Bryan tried to make the save there but was again laid out with a Tombstone.
The “Ravishing Russian” Lana is introduced as she struts out to the stage. She introduces Alexander Rusev and when they get into the ring, she begins to speak again. “People of America, you are about to witness something extraordinary. As promised to you all on Monday night, we will begin the Alexander Rusev Invitational. For those too stupid to remember, we have been gracious enough to give people a chance at $5000 if they can last five minutes with the ‘Super Athlete’. We are taking on all comers and to prove that, tonight, there are not one, but TWO challengers.” Lana points to ringside, where two unknown men are standing, trying to get the crowd pumped, but to no avail. THE ALEXANDER RUSEV INVIATIONAL: ALEXANDER RUSEV VS. ANTHONY AARONS AND TJ RIZELLI; The two challengers are billed from Italy. This has the feel of the old Ryback handicap matches from a few years back. A clock appears at the bottom right of the screen, counting backwards from five minutes. It barely gets ninety seconds in before this one is over. Rusev just annihilates his competition, and puts them both in the Accolade as they both submit. Alexander Rusev defeats Anthony Aarons and TJ Rizelli!
Alexander Rusev refuses to break the Accolade until Lana enters the ring and gives him the signal. She raises his arm in victory, as the first installment of the Alexander Rusev Invitational turns out to be incredibly lopsided.
Another Bo Dallas vignette airs. For the first time though, we actually hear from Bo instead of just seeing inspirational images. “My dream has always been to make it to the WWE. Some of you may remember, but I actually competed in the 2013 Royal Rumble. And I failed. I had to look deep inside of myself to find success. And you know what happened? I began to Bo-lieve. Since then, I’ve gone on to be the longest reigning NXT Champion in history. Longer than Big E and even longer than Seth Rollins. You can have success like me to. All you have to do…is Bo-Lieve.” We return to see Sheamus at Blarney Stone. He’s having some drinks and enjoying himself in celebration of his WWE Intercontinental Championship victory. Bryon Saxton arrives on the scene to conduct his interview with Sheamus, but gets shrugged off. Saxton tries again so Sheamus turns to him, “Byron, it’s good to see ya. Listen, I’ll give you the interview you want, but you gotta celebrate with me first. Have a drink.” Byron declines and says he would like to just do the interview, but Sheamus goes back to talking with a group of people at the bar.
Back from commercial break, a video package airs. First it shows John Cena’s promo from Raw over still photos of his Last Man Standing match with Bray Wyatt. Then we see Bray interrupt him and the sickening assault the Wyatt Family hit him with, which led to Cena having to be carted out of the arena in an ambulance. We are told that there will be an update on his condition this Monday night on Raw. LUKE HARPER VS. SETH ROLLINS; The middle match in the Shield series of singles bouts tonight pits the “Architect” against the biggest member of the Wyatt Family. JBL spends the early portion of the match discussing how wise it is for Triple H to put Seth in the ring against someone who helped destroy John Cena this week. Harper seems like he’s well on his way to doing the same to Rollins tonight. He throws Rollins around the ring in the early stages and just looks like an absolute monster. Seth gets in some near rallies, but Harper seems to always have an answer for everything. He tries the discus lariat, but Seth ducks and connects on the Pele kick. Seth bounces off the ropes and hits the Curb Stomp but before he can cover, the Wyatt Signature hits. When we come back, Erick Rowan is in the ring and is clubbing away on Seth. Seth Rollins defeats Luke Harper via disqualification!
Erick Rowan and Luke Harper continue to pound away on Seth Rollins. Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns were barred from ringside during the match, but not now as they rush out to make the save. The Wyatt Signature hits again as Rowan and Harper disappear. Reigns and Ambrose check on their fallen comrade heading into commercial.
Backstage, Renee Young is standing by with Dolph Ziggler. She asks for his feelings heading into the United States Title match tonight. “Renee, there’s a reason I chose to have my title shot tonight. I wanted to make sure that we were given the main event. I’ve always been about stealing the show but I can do that anywhere on the card. Since winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, I’ve realized that stealing the show isn’t enough. I need to win and be successful. Tonight, I’ll still steal the show, but I’m also taking the United States Title from that weasel of a champion Christian.” CESARO VS. MARK HENRY; At Extreme Rules, Cesaro finally rid himself of Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter before nearly swinging Swagger on this past Monday. Swagger and Zeb are on commentary here, and they just run down Cesaro throughout. The “Swiss Superman” is put to the test against the “World’s Strongest Man”. Like a good battle of power against power, this involves a test of strength. Both men jockey for position until Henry gets in a cheap kick to the gut. Henry targets the back of Cesaro, but he rallies behind the roar of the crowd, hitting big uppercuts. A final one puts Henry on his back, and the crowd comes to their feet as Cesaro swings him around nearly ten times! An impressive Neutralizer follows to claim victory. Cesaro defeats Mark Henry!
The “Swiss Superman” immediately goes to the ropes and invites Jack Swagger in the ring with him. Swagger takes a step forward, but Zeb Colter holds him back, telling him to wait for the right time to take out the “traitor”. As they back away, Cesaro even holds the ropes open for them. AJ LEE AND TAMINA SUNKA VS. THE FUNKADACTYLS; Three nights ago on Main Event, AJ Lee seemed to have a change of heart as she went from brash champion to one who respected her latest challenger, Paige. Early on, she shows that it may only be Paige that she has respect for as she insulted Cameron while tossing her around. When Naomi gets the tag, she brings her usual athletic ability that overwhelms Tamina Snuka. She gets in her key offense, including the Rear End, but AJ Lee breaks the pin. Shortly thereafter, it is Tamina who gets the pin for her team on Cameron. AJ Lee and Tamina Snuka defeat the Funkadactyls!
The WWE Universe gives a mixed reaction as AJ Lee and Tamina Snuka have their arms raised in victory. Michael Cole is sure to note that AJ Lee did not look like her usual self and it may be because her mind is focused on the upcoming title defense against Paige in England.
Going back to Blarney Stone, Byron Saxton finally has Sheamus ready for the sit down interview. His first question is simple and to the point. “Sheamus, the question on everyone’s mind is, what did you choose to join the Authority?” Sheamus gives a small chuckle before responding. “You know, Byron, I thought it was obvious. Remember back when I was the guy who would put on a smile and slap hands with the kiddies at ringside? I was successful, winning the Royal Rumble and even the World Heavyweight Championship. Then, all of a sudden, I was nowhere to be found. I went from the top of the mountain to barely climbing it. My change of attitude led me to the Intercontinental Title. Before Extreme Rules, when was the last time I held a belt? As for the Authority, it boils down to success again. Triple H, Batista and Randy Orton are three of the most decorated athletes in WWE history. Just this year alone, Orton was WWE Champion and Batista won the Royal Rumble. They main evented WrestleMania while I was in a battle royal with 30 other guys that I am better than. With my talent and the Authority’s backing, I cannot be stopped. Now allow me to go enjoy myself again.” Sheamus gets up to leave and bumps into a large man. Sheamus angrily tells him to watch out, leading the man to turn around and reveal himself to be Big E! Sheamus is stunned and Big E goes on the offensive, just attacking the man who took the Intercontinental Title from him. Big E slams him on the pool table and fires right hands. Sheamus grabs a pool stick and breaks it on his back. Things don’t go any further as security and other patrons get in between and break up the war. Big E shouts that he wants his title back.
A Mother’s Day video airs, with voiceovers of Mr. T’s Hall of Fame speech where he mentioned his mother too many times to count. ROMAN REIGNS VS. RYBACK; The final match in the “Shield Series” tonight pits Roman Reigns against the powerful Ryback. So far, Dean Ambrose has lost and while Seth Rollins won, he sure didn’t look like a winner. These two guys start like you would expect a powerful match to begin, similar to Cesaro vs. Mark Henry earlier tonight. Reigns is in great form until he’s tripped up by Curtis Axel. This causes Ryback to take control and work the neck of the Shield member. Reigns begins to mount a comeback and it is explosive. He gets Ryback stuck on the ropes and goes outside to Superman punch Axel before hitting his beautiful apron dropkick on Ryback. Once back inside, he hits the Spear and gets the win. Roman Reigns defeats Ryback!
Roman Reigns gets to his feet and raises his arms in the air, picking up a win for the Shield and giving them a winning record in their series tonight. “Despite the Authority’s intentions, the Shield manage to come away rather victorious tonight” says Michael Cole. We are then shown a reminder that The Shield will take on Evolution in a major collision at Payback!
A shot is shown of the front row, as some of the Buffalo Bills are sitting ringside. A video is then shown highlighting the Beat the Clock Challenge from this past Monday night on Raw. WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP: CHRISTIAN (C) VS. DOLPH ZIGGLER; John “Bradshaw” Layfield talks up the history of the United States Title during the entrance, trying to build more hype to this contest. Dolph Ziggler and Christian lock up before exchanging holds as they feel each other out. Dolph outmaneuvers the Champion, who get frustrated and responds with a loud slap. This sends the match into another gear as it gets more physical. Christian tries pretty much every single trick in the book to retain. He exposes the turnbuckle, pulls tights, rakes eyes and gets in any cheap shot he can find. Dolph kicks out of a reverse DDT and follows with his jumping DDT for a close near fall of his own. Dolph has the crowd on their feet for him as he nails the Fameasser but it still isn’t enough. Christian holds the ropes to avoid the Zig Zag and drops down to cover Dolph, while still holding the ropes for added leverage, retaining the gold. Christian defeats Dolph Ziggler to retain the WWE United States Championship!
The United States Champion quickly rolls out of the ring and snatches his belt from the timekeeper’s table. Christian holds it high in the air while smiling and staring as a distraught Dolph Ziggler. He can’t believe that he just let Christian beat him by using underhanded tactics.

Cool, different way to start things off with Sheamus at a bar. Maybe he'll be like Finlay and start a bar brawl! Y'KNOW, HE'S IRISH! HE LOVES TO FIGHT, FELLA! We move straight in to action and Bad News Barrett gets a big win over Dean AMbrose, albeit with some assistance of that damn Evolution music! EVVELLUSHUNISAMYSERRYYY. Like my Lemmy impression? Bet you did, bitch. Even though you can't hear it. Next, Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam - interesting team - get a win over Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara. Didn't seem to be really much to care about though, did it? Rey is hurt again, though, of course. Of course he is. Alexander Rusev still seems weird to me at this point. Funny how that seems weird to me by having his first name and seems weird to me with Cesaro not having Antonio attatched, isn't it? Anyway, he beats two guys - Anthony Aarons and TJ Rizelli. Sounds like a couple of New York hacks to me! Probably Mets fans. Ba'dum-tis. When the hell is Bo going to debut, damn it!? Byron is going to interview Sheamus but Sheamus is busy gettin' drunk. Maybe he'll beat up Byron! Please, please, please. I hate Byron Saxton. Seth Rollins beats Luke Harper - via disqualification - and we have Rowan and Harper beating down Rollins with Ambrose and Reigns banned from ringside, of course. Frickin' Authority, damn them. DAMN THEM ALL. Dolph might win the title tonight. Might. I like how it is going to be the main event, gives some good notoriety for the title. Cesaro beats Mark Henry, good for him. He needs the win coming off of his face turn and his inevitable future win against Swagger. AJ Lee and Tamina Snuka, why are you parterning up? You're supposed to be facing at Payback? Oh right, that's me. Fine win for them over The Funkadactyls, I suppose. Nothing special with them. Big E is in the bar! Big E is in the bar! He's fighting Sheamus! I like that things just got interesting with these guys and it isn't just in the ring I want the title, I want the title blah blah same old crap. Makes things interesting and I dig it. Roman Reigns beats Ryback but Ryback drools at this point. Maybe he'll get rebuilt up in the future? At least one of these guys got a clean win. Making Roman look strong, har har. Finally, we get the United States Championship getting some shine as Christian beats Dolph Ziggler - cheating - to retain the belt. I suspect this feud will continue on and I like Christian being a desperate veteran. Anyway, this show seemed kind of long. Like, too long? Not that it is too big of a deal and it was a good episode of Smackdown overall. Now, go enjoy my Raw when I post it in about twenty minutes.

Monday Night Raw: May 12th, 2014 – Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina
Before Raw officially begins, a video package airs showing the events of last week. During the main event that pit Batista and Randy Orton against Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, the WWE Intercontinental Champion appeared and sided with the Authority. Not only did he Brogue Kick Reigns, but he shook hands with Triple H after the bell. Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and John “Bradshaw” Layfield welcome us to Raw with the news that for the second straight week, the Raw Pre-Show brought us the announcement that Daniel Bryan has been put in a match at the order of the Authority. Last week it was Sheamus and tonight it will be the man who is responsible for John Cena being out of action, Bray Wyatt! “These two had a classic back at the Royal Rumble and tonight will be no different” says John “Bradshaw” Layfield.
The theme of our COO hits as the Authority steps out onto the stage. The crowd is not happy to see Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Randy Orton, Batista and Sheamus. They enter the ring and Triple H grabs a microphone with a smug look on his face. “I told you all didn’t I? Yes, we lost in War Games and that stung, but I always make sure to look ahead and do my damndest to win the war. Myself, Randy Orton and Batista make up Evolution and we are the greatest faction in the history of the WWE. My wife Stephanie is the most powerful woman in the WWE and now, we add Sheamus into the mix. The brand new WWE Intercontinental Champion, the winner of the 2012 Royal Rumble, former World Heavyweight Champion, WWE Champion and King of the Ring.” Triple H continues to brag, saying that the Authority is now even stronger and nobody can stop them. He hands the microphone over to Sheamus. “You sold out” chants pour over him before he speaks. “Last week on Smackdown, I gave you all the answers you were looking for. As Triple H said, I’ve had success throughout my career, but with the Authority I can do even more.” Before he can continue, the theme of Big E hits to cut him off. The former Intercontinental Champion comes out to the top of the stage, the fans cheering his arrival. Sheamus is furious though, shouting “This is the second time in four days that you’ve interrupted me fella. It’s getting old.” Sheamus is referring to the pull apart brawl they had at Blarney Stone this past Friday on Smackdown. Big E smirks before speaking, “The thing about that is…I’m not going to stop interrupting you until I get back my title.” Big E runs down Sheamus for his recent change of attitude and says that he wants his rematch for the belt tonight. It is Stephanie McMahon who responds though, looking pissed off. “Who the hell do you think you are interrupting us? How dare you? We write your checks and we put food on your table, yet you disrespect us. This has gotten out of hand. First there was Daniel Bryan, then the Shield and now you. I’m sick and tired of this crap. Now you’ll get your rematch because it is contracted but not tonight. You don’t come out here and mouth off and expect to get what you want. You can have it at Payback, but right now, you’ll go one on one with the Viper, Randy Orton!” The crowd roars at this news, as Orton stares a hole through Big E. BIG E VS. RANDY ORTON; Before the bell, Randy Orton tells the Authority that they can head to the back because “he’s got this.” Big E makes him pay for those words, coming out with a flurry of offense that sends the twelve time World champion reeling and regrouping on the outside. When Orton gets back on the apron to re-enter, Big E greets him with a huge spear that sends both men crashing outside. The fans in Greenville are very much behind Big E, but when they get back inside, Orton hits his rope hung DDT. The action slows as Orton wears down his larger opponent, focusing on the neck. Orton gears up for the RKO, when “Sierra. Hotel. India. Echo. Lima. Delta. Shield” is heard. The fans explode as Orton begins to look around for the Shield. They never show, but the distraction allows Big E to hit the Big Ending! He covers and picks up the victory. Big E defeats Randy Orton!
The WWE Universe erupts at this upset victory. Big E slides out of the ring and throws his arms in the air as he picks up massive momentum with his WWE Intercontinental Title shot coming up soon. “Just like Evolution did to Dean Ambrose in the opening match on Smackdown, the Shield has cost Randy Orton this match!” exclaims Michael Cole.
We are now taken to a video package, showcasing some of Paige’s accomplishments down in NXT. It cuts to showing AJ Lee and her Divas Title reign throughout all of 2013 and 2014. We see AJ defeat thirteen other Divas at WrestleMania before Paige made her debut the following night, pitting the two most dominant Divas of their respective division against each other. AJ Lee is shown beating her at Extreme Rules, but laying down the gauntlet and challenging her to a rematch because she wants to pin or make Paige submit. Paige accepted and the huge match is set for next week in Paige’s home country.
A new Bo Dallas vignette airs, continuing the theme of inspirational music and images appearing on the screen. Bo is heard saying that there is no such thing as impossible, because it is only people misreading I’m Possible. “We are all possible, you just have to Bo-lieve.” The words “Next Week” flash on the screen at the end. ALICIA FOX VS. PAIGE; AJ Lee is on commentary for this bout, with Tamina Snuka standing over her. She spends her time during the match reiterating that she has a newfound respect for the “Anti-Diva” because she is finally giving her the competition that she has asked for all year. Meanwhile, Paige and Alicia Fox trade offense in the ring, with Fox using her long legs to wrap Paige up in a body scissors. The NXT Women’s Champion fights out of the hold and begins to make her rally. Fox tries the Axe Kick but Paige dodges and hits the Paige Turner, which is how she beat Alicia a few weeks back. Fox gets her foot on the ropes to break the pin, but ends up tapping out to the PTO. Paige defeats Alicia Fox!
After the match, Paige rolls out of the ring and heads towards AJ Lee. Tamina Snuka steps right in between them but AJ Lee tells her to step aside. They come face to face and Paige can be heard saying something about next week. She taps the Divas Title on AJ’s shoulder and backs away, while AJ gives a sly smirk.
A recap airs of the heinous actions by Kane last week on Raw. After targeting Daniel Bryan early in the show, he turned his attention to Bryan’s new bride, Brie Bella. Bryan tried to make the save, but was unfortunately taken out with a Tombstone. Speaking of Daniel Bryan, his theme plays as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion makes his way out to the ring. The fans go nuts, but Bryan doesn’t seem to be in a good mood. He isn’t doing the “Yes” chants with the fans or anything. He gets in the ring, grabs a microphone and immediately calls out Kane. He gets no response and has a very peeved look on his face. “Kane, it is one thing to attack me, but to try and go after my wife is another thing entirely. So either you get your ass out here or I will find you back there. After a few moments of silence, fire explodes atop the ramp and Kane appears on the titantron. “Daniel, you want to know why this is a personal issue? Think back. A few years ago, I put my mask back on and nearly took out John Cena and beat Randy Orton. I was the monster that I was born to be again. Then, I was sent to anger management classes with you and something unfortunate happened. I got soft. Yes, we won the Tag Team Titles together but instead of focusing on destruction, I was busy getting into petty fights with you. Next thing I know, I’m in a suit and working for the Authority. I blame you, Daniel, for turning me into something I’m not. Now, I’m going to end you.” Daniel looks on and responds, “You can blame me all you want but it wasn’t me who made you put on slacks and become a corporate sellout.” The crowd cheers that as Daniel challenges Kane to a match because he wants to get his hands on him. Kane replies, “You don’t call the shots here. I’ll face you, but you have to put the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line.” Bryan eagerly accepts and Kane says that he will see Bryan at Payback. Pyro shoots off from the corners as Kane theme plays.
An advertisement airs for Legends House, as a new episode airs this Thursday night at 8E/7C only on the WWE Network! Lana and Alexander Rusev make their way down to the ring for tonight’s Alexander Rusev Invitational. Lana grabs a microphone, saying that unlike this past Friday on Smackdown, they do not have someone ready to face Rusev. “You see, after what Rusev did on Smackdown, nobody dares step up to the challenge.” HOOOOO! To the surprise and delight of the WWE Universe, “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan comes out to the stage. He comes down to the ring and grabs a microphone, shouting his trademark “HOOOO!” Duggan then admits that he is out here because he’s heard outlandish claims from Rusev and Lana for weeks and he wants in on the Rusev Invitational. “I may not be able to go like I used to, but I sure can fight and maybe YOU can’t last five minutes with me!” THE ALEXANDER RUSEV INVITATIONAL: ALEXANDER RUSEV VS. JIM DUGGAN; Alexander Rusev charges right at the bell, but Jim Duggan avoids it and he crashes into the post. The fans pop as Duggan has Rusev reeling without even doing an offensive move. He begins to club away on Rusev, but the “Bulgarian Brute” shrugs them off and nearly takes Duggan’s head off with a superkick. He hits a big slam and locks in the Accolade, making Duggan submit in just over a minute. Alexander Rusev defeats Jim Duggan!
As usual, Alexander Rusev refuses to release the hold until Lana enters the ring and gives him the signal. He gets to his feet and raises his arms in victory, dominating another round of his invitational and abusing a WWE Hall of Famer.
Backstage, the Authority is shown in their office and Randy Orton is pissed off. “The Shield embarrassed me tonight, Hunter. What the hell are you going to do about that?” Triple H is not pleased either, but he comes to the conclusion that tonight, the “Animal” Batista is going to step into the ring against Seth Rollins. “I know that the Shield cost you the match tonight, so I’m sure Batista will have no problem potentially costing Seth his career tonight, will you big man?” Batista gives a smirk and says that it will be his pleasure. KOFI KINGSTON AND ROB VAN DAM VS. RYBAXEL; This past Friday on Smackdown, Rob Van Dam and Kofi Kingston made their debut as a tag team, defeating Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara. That was a competitive match filled with respect. This is more aggressive, as Rybaxel come out hitting hard. Curtis Axel and Ryback wisely cut the ring in half and do their best to wear down Kofi Kingston. He continually attempts to make the tag, but is stopped. He finally does after hitting Axel with the SOS. RVD comes in hot, hitting everything in sight. He gets two on Rolling Thunder before climbing to the top. Ryback enters to try and put a stop to this, but Kingston caches him with Trouble in Paradise! Van Dam hits the Five Star Frog Splash and hooks the leg for the three. Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam defeat Rybaxel!
The newly formed tag team raise each other’s arms in victory. The fans give them a big hand as they are two of the more popular Superstars on the roster. “The tag team division continues to heat up and one has to wonder which team has been able to show enough to earn that coveted number one contender’s spot” says Michael Cole.
Returning, a short video airs showing clips of the Beat the Clock Challenge last week. We then see highlights of the United States Championship match from this past Friday, where Dolph Ziggler came very close to dethroning Christian for the belt, only to have Christian use the ropes and secure the win. The WWE Universe gets to their feet at the arrival of Dolph Ziggler. As has become custom, he stops at ringside to pose next to the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal trophy. He gets in the ring and lets the crowd noise go down before he begins to speak. “You know, around this time last year I was kind of on top of the world. I had just cashed in my Money in the Bank briefcase and was the reigning World Heavyweight Champion. Then I got a concussion and lost to Alberto Del Rio. After that, I was left wondering what the hell happened to my career. I couldn’t make it onto Pay-Per-Views, I could barely win matches on Raw and I was kind of just there. Fast forward to WrestleMania XXX and I win that beautiful trophy right there. Things began to turn around and I got some measure of revenge on Del Rio at Extreme Rules. The next thing in my sights was the United States Championship but I hit a wall as Christian beat me on Smackdown. Whether he cheated or not is irrelevant. I’m not one to cry over spilled milk. All that matters is that I lost but I am here to lay down the challenge for, as Christian would put it, one…more…match.” The fans in Greenville cheer loudly and begin a “one more match” chant. Instead of getting Christian though, the music of Bad News Barrett plays as he comes out to the stage. He already has a microphone as the fans boo. “Dolph Ziggler, you faced Christian on Smackdown, lost and now you want a rematch. WELL I’M AFRAID I’VE GOT BAD NEWS. You aren’t going to get your rematch because you are nothing more than a loser. I was within seconds of winning the Beat the Clock Challenge and should have gotten the title shot because unlike you, I wouldn’t have failed miserably.” Dolph shrugs off Barrett’s comments and tells him that if he isn’t getting Christian to come out here, he’ll be more than happy to face Barrett tonight. Barrett laughs, saying “You must really love bad news if you want to take another loss tonight. You’re on.” BAD NEWS BARRETT VS. DOLPH ZIGGLER; Early into this bout, the United States Champion himself, Christian walks out to the stage for a better look. Both Dolph Ziggler and Bad News Barrett seem to have the other pretty well scouted, reversing some key maneuvers in the early goings. Dolph goes for his jumping DDT, but Barrett shoves him off and over to the outside. That swings the momentum in his favor and he starts to grind away on Dolph, getting multiple near falls. The resilient Dolph fights hard though, even busting out a Fameasser from out of nowhere for two. He goes old school, applying a sleeper hold to wear down Barrett. Barrett breaks it by backing into the corner and hitting a neckbreaker. He sets up for the Bull Hammer, but Dolph ducks it and runs off the ropes. Unfortunately for him though, he runs right into a vicious Bull Hammer anyway. Barrett covers and gets the 1-2-3. Bad News Barrett defeats Dolph Ziggler!
Up at the top of the ramp, Christian can be seen laughing at Dolph Ziggler losing. Bad News Barrett sees this and points at Christian, before motioning around his waist. Christian’s face completely falls as he realizes that Barrett was serious about wanting to be the United States Champion. He clutches the title to his chest, knowing that another threat has emerged.
An advertisement airs for Slam City! Your favorite WWE Superstars have been fired and must make a living in Slam City! See John Cena as a mechanic, Sheamus as a movie theater usher and more! We are sent to a recap of the brutal beating John Cena suffered last week at the hands of the Wyatt Family. Not only did Bray Wyatt get a “monster” to come out of Cena during their Extreme Rules match, but he had Erick Rowan and Luke Harper attack him and send him off in an ambulance. After the clips, Michael Cole solemnly informs us that Cena suffered a broken rib and a bruised sternum. He isn’t cleared to compete but will be back next week in England! BATISTA VS. SETH ROLLINS; Batista has his fellow Evolution members at ringside, while Seth Rollins brings the rest of the Shield. Right away, Batista pummels Rollins with some huge shots. He continues to just utilize powerful strikes and holds but makes the mistake of underestimating his opponent. Rollins strikes with the Pele kick to put a stop to Batista’s dominance. With both men down, their respective teammates outside try to rally them. As they get up, Batista charges with a clothesline, but Seth ducks and nails a dropkick to the knee. He gets in some more offense that has the “Animal” reeling and he scores some near falls. Seth gears up for the Curb Stomp but is tripped up by Randy Orton. This causes Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns to run around the ring and brawl with Triple H and Orton. All hell is breaking loose outside, but Seth tops it all by hitting a front flip dive onto everyone. He gets back in the ring, only to be greeted by a Batista Bomb. Batista hooks the leg and picks up the victory. Batista defeats Seth Rollins!
The ringing of the bell leads Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns to turn their attention to the ring. They get inside, but Batista quickly gets out of dodge and heads up the ramp with the rest of Evolution. Seth slowly gets to his knees as Ambrose checks on him, while Reigns stares a hole through Evolution. This war is far from over!
As we come back, Michael Cole announces that tomorrow night, live on the WWE Network, Cesaro will step into the ring with Alberto Del Rio! Can Cesaro ride his wave of momentum to a win or will the vicious "Mexican Aristocrat" stop him in his tracks? Fine out tomorrow night at 8PM!
Returning from commercial, Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger are in the ring. Swagger is holding Zeb’s sign that simply says “DEPORT CESARO”. Zeb has a microphone and starts to speak over the noise of the WWE Universe. He says that Cesaro is nothing more than a traitor. “Last week I touched on how I brought him into the Real Americans, but I want to go a little deeper tonight. You see, some of you might not remember, but Cesaro is actually a former United States Champion. After losing that belt, he was a wayward soul and I saw talent in him and made him something again. I made him a real American. Not just anybody can be a real American but maybe I misjudged him. A real American isn’t a turncoat.” He continues for a bit longer until the music of Cesaro hits to a pop, interrupting him. Cesaro has a microphone and says that he’s tired of the talking. “Last week, you talked too much. On Smackdown, you were on commentary and talked too much. I don’t like to talk. I like to let what I do in that ring do the talking for me. So how about I come down there right now and talk to you?” The crowd cheers as Cesaro begins to stroll to the ring. He takes down Swagger, wailing away on him until Zeb breaks the sign over his back. It doesn’t faze the “Swiss Superman”, but as he goes after Zeb, Swagger chop blocks him. He continues to pound away on Cesaro’s foot before applying the Patriot Lock. He drops to the mat and holds it in, making sure that Cesaro cannot break the hold. He finally releases it after some officials get into the ring, but it is clear that the damage has been done to the former Real American.
The Wyatt signature strikes and we see Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan in a dark room. “John Cena is you’re hero isn’t he? That’s the image that each and every one of you in the so-called Cenation have led everyone else to believe. But I saw the looks on all of your faces at Extreme Rules. I saw the disappointment, I saw the fear! That is not the way that you look at your hero. You look at the villains like that. Some of you look at Bray Wyatt like that! John Cena brought out his monster and all of you looked away and turned your backs on him, just like I thought you would. You need to understand that there are no heroes who embody “Hustle, Loyalty and Respect.” It is all lies! I am your hero now! Where is John Cena? I am here for all of you. Even when John Cena does make his triumphant return, you all have me now. He is no match for me. No one is. Hahahaha. Follow…the…buzzards.”
A short commercial airs to promote Total Divas. This Sunday, it is Brie Bella’s bachelorette party before she heads down the aisle with Daniel Bryan! BRIE BELLA VS. SUMMER RAE; For our second Divas match of the night, two of the main cast members of Total Divas face off. Brie Bella is accompanied to the ring by her sister Nikki, while Fandango is out with Summer. They work some basic back and forth stuff, with Brie gaining the advantage and hitting her BRIE MODE missile dropkick but Summer gets her foot on the ropes. She hits a big kick but gets distracted when Layla walks to the ring and flirts with Fandango. Last week on Main Event, Layla and Fandango had interactions that Summer didn’t approve of. She yells for Layla to get away, but her focus is gone and it leads to a Bella Buster for the finish. Brie Bella defeats Summer Rae!
As the Bella Twins celebrate Brie’s victory, Summer Rae gets to her feet and is livid with Fandango. He tries to explain himself but Summer wants to hear none of it. She shouts something negative about Layla that can barely be picked up by the camera before storming off. “It looks like our resident dancer is in trouble with Mrs. Fandango” says JBL.
The lovely Renee Young is standing by backstage with the Shield. She asks for their feelings on what went down tonight with Evolution. Dean Ambrose speaks first, saying that he is getting real sick and tired of Evolution and the Authority in general. He mentions that after War Games, Evolution should have learned their lesson that the Shield are not to be messed with. Seth Rollins doesn’t speak as he’s still feeling the effects of his match, so Roman Reigns chimes in. “This all starts and ends with you Hunter. Yea, I’m calling you out, Mr. COO. Next week. Raw in England. You and me, one on one in the middle of that ring, I’m gonna beat you like a bitch.” The crowd cheers loudly as Roman Reigns has just thrown down the gauntlet to the COO of this company! NON-TITLE MATCH: DANIEL BRYAN VS. BRAY WYATT; Back at the Royal Rumble earlier this year, these two had a huge match that went back and forth before Bray Wyatt prevailed. Tonight, Daniel Bryan looks to gain a measure of revenge. Bray is the aggressor in the early goings, overwhelming Bryan with his offense. He runs off the ropes and completely annihilates Bryan with a big running attack. In a call back to their Royal Rumble match, Bryan tries a suicide dive but is caught and Bray goes for Sister Abigail into the guardrail. However, Bryan is ready and counters it by driving Bray into the guardrail. He runs in the ring and connects on the suicide dive as the crowd comes unglued. Inside, he starts firing off some vicious kicks and seems to be gearing up for the win. He begins to “Yes” in the corner, seemingly setting up for the Busaiku Knee, but fire explodes atop the ramp and Kane appears. Bryan wastes no time and goes to meet him with a series of right hands. The referee counts to ten, resulting in the end of the match. Bray Wyatt defeats Daniel Bryan via countout!
Despite being announced as the loser, Daniel Bryan’s sole focus is on his former tag team partner. Bryan cuts him down to size with kicks to the leg before hitting some to the chest. He goes for the big roundhouse but Kane ducks and grabs Bryan by the throat. He attempts a Chokeslam, but Bryan elbows out of it. Bryan steps back and charges, but Kane nails a big boot. As the crowd watches in horror, he puts him in position and plants him with a Tombstone onto the steel entrance ramp! The final image of the night is the sight of Daniel Bryan’s broken body.

Grudge match signed for Payback! At Extreme Rules, Cesaro finally had enough of Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter, swinging the former and branching out on his own. Last night on Raw, Jack Swagger attacked Cesaro, placing him in the Patriot Lock for an extended period of time. Cesaro has demanded and been granted a match against his former partner, and it has been signed for Payback on June 1st. With his hobbled ankle, can Cesaro actually get Payback on Jack Swagger?

Those Payback match graphics are ing sick. Bryan/Wyatt is a huge main event. That should be good! Standard way to kick things off with The Authority. Couldn't really picture Big E. going out there alone initially, only because of the role has in the current product, but it set-up the opening match. Big win for Big E. and it didn't really hurt Orton to take a loss given The Shield distraction. I'm looking forward to seeing how you book The Shield's eventual breakup down the line, whenever that may be. Paige winning the Diva's Championship next week in London is inevitable, I reckon. I'm glad that you held off on her winning the title until then for a feel good moment. Alicia Fox was never going to beat Paige tonight was she? Liked DB coming down all serious, not doing the Yes chants, etc. Hopefully you keep Kane as a monster and don't turn him back into The Authority's joke. Love the Alexander Rusev Invitational stuff with the 5 minute time limit. Jim Duggan answering was cool to see, especially given the whole USA flag, etc. with him. Obviously, Rusev went over. Batista/Rollins, great. RYBAXEL! <3 Kofi/RVD as a team is actually pretty fun. Poor Dolph Christian/BNB/Dolph at Payback? Didn't expect Batista to get the win over Rollins but I suppose it avenges Orton losing earlier in the night. Nice to see you're building Cesaro/Swagger up for a match at Payback rather than just throwing it away on an episode of SmackDown, which I'm pretty sure happened in real life. Fine win for Brie Bella. Wonder where you're headed with the Summer/Layla/Fandango stuff. Wow, I for sure thought Bryan would have went over Wyatt here but a countout win for Wyatt is fine. It definitely made the most sense and it keeps both guys strong. Wow, cool way to close the show with Kane laying out Bryan, despite a valiant effort from the Champ. Payback is shaping up to be great.

WWE Main Event: May 13th, 2014 – Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina
Opening tonight’s episode of Main Event is our weekly video package followed by pyro. The fans in Greensboro are red hot as Tom Phillips and Byron Saxton welcome everyone to tonight’s major show, which will be headlined by a one on one encounter between Alberto Del Rio and Cesaro. “One has to wonder exactly what condition Cesaro will be in after being put in the Patriot Lock less than 24 hours ago” states Saxton. We head to the ring, where Renee Young is standing with the United States Champion, Christian. She introduces him and says that Christian requested some in-ring interview time. Christian speaks, saying that he wanted this time to address what happened on Raw last night. He directs us to the titantron, where we see Dolph Ziggler ask for another United States Title match, only to have Bad News Barrett interrupt and beat him, before motioning that he now wanted the belt. “It seems to me that not only is the United States Championship a hot commodity, but what I’m seeing is Bad News Barrett and Dolph Ziggler trying to take my spot in this company. I am a former Intercontinental, Tag Team and World Champion and a future Hall of Famer. These guys cannot just come in and try to knock me off the top.” Before he can continue, the music of Dolph Ziggler hits as he steps out to the stage to a pop. Dolph tells Christian that he isn’t here to take his spot. “All I want to take, is that title from around your waist. Now, I know I lost to you on Smackdown and I lost to Barrett last night, so I can understand you saying no to my title shot request. I have a solution though. This Friday night, meet me again but in a non-title match.” Christian shrugs off the challenge until Dolph adds in, “What’s the matter? If you are still good enough that guys like me aren’t deserving of your spot yet, this shouldn’t be a problem.” Christian allows himself to be goaded into the match and agrees.
An advertisement airs for the WWE Network. Not only do you get all of the incredible content already available for just $9.99, but if you refer a friend to sign up, you and that friend will get a $25 gift card to WWE Shop! NON-TITLE MATCH: THE USOS VS. JUSTIN GABRIEL AND TYSON KIDD; Since successfully defending the WWE Tag Team Titles in a Ladder match at Extreme Rules, the Usos have been more inclined to watch as teams compete to become future number one contenders to their titles. They took this match to keep from getting rusty and give a shot to two guys that have been down in NXT trying to get back on track. Both teams go at full speed throughout the contest, hitting high flying moves and countering tons of offense. After Justin Gabriel hits a beautiful dive to the outside, Jimmy follows by diving out onto him. He gets back in the ring and Tyson Kidd nearly puts him in the Sharpshooter, but Jey gets in and hits a superkick to pick up the win. The Usos defeat Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd!
As they are handed their Tag Team Titles, The Usos celebrate with the WWE Universe. Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel are disappointed, as a win over the champions would for sure go a long way. The Usos show great sportsmanship by shaking hands with their opponents to a round of applause from the fans.
Returning, Tom Phillips and Byron Saxton take us to a video recap of the ongoing rivalry between the Shield and Evolution. Clips of the “Shield Series” from Smackdown are seen before highlights of Batista’s win over Seth Rollins last night. It ends with the challenge that Roman Reigns laid down to Triple H for next week’s Raw. We are told that Triple H will give an answer this Friday night on Smackdown.
A promo is shown for Legends House. A new episode airs this Thursday night at 8E/7C, only on the WWE Network! SIN CARA VS. TITUS O’NEIL; With the injury this past Friday to Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara is back to flying solo. Even with the tough task of the powerful Titus O’Neil ahead of him, Cara is ready and flies around the ring from the get go. He hits a springboard cross body and moonsault for quick near falls before Titus takes over and wears him down. Like last week, Damien Sandow walks down to ringside in his robe for a closer look at the action. Titus notices this time and gives him a confused look, leading to a rollup from Sin Cara for two. As both men get up, Titus levels him with a huge clothesline before finishing off Sin Cara with the Clash of the Titus. Titus O’Neil defeats Sin Cara!A negative response is heard as Titus O’Neil has his arm raised by the official. He looks out to Damien Sandow, who has already turned around and left up the ramp. Titus is still confused by this as commentary speculates on what this could possibly mean.
WrestleMania XXX is set to be released on Blu-Ray and DVD! Get your copy as the Blu-Ray features over six hours of bonus footage and a behind the scenes look at how this extravaganza came together. Plus, you get the entire Hall of Fame ceremony! 3MB VS. R-TRUTH AND XAVIER WOODS; As noted already, the tag team division has had some serious competition as of late. Both of these teams are looking to make a statement and throw their name in the hat for the number one contendership. The fans are very much behind Xavier Woods and R-Truth, who always make their matches fun by throwing in some dance moves. Drew McIntyre and Heath Slater combat that with some air guitar, drawing the opposite reaction from the crowd. After a few minutes of action, a slight distraction from Jinder Mahal allows McIntyre to hit Future Shock and gain the victory. 3MB defeats R-Truth and Xavier Woods! The WWE Universe boos loudly as 3MB steals a win tonight. They make their way up the ramp, playing air guitar again harder than they may have ever played it before in their life. Xavier Woods and R-Truth are disappointed as they continue to struggle.
We see a recap of Kane and Daniel Bryan’s interactions from last night on Raw. Kane blames Bryan and Team Hell No for him becoming soft. Bryan challenges him for Payback and the WWE Title will be on the line. Later in the show, just as Bryan was nearing victory against Bray Wyatt, Kane appeared. They did battle and Bryan lost via countout before taking a Tombstone on the steel. Tom Phillips then informs us of the main event announced for Smackdown this Friday. The below graphic appears telling us that Kane will team with the Intercontinental Champion Sheamus to face WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan and Big E! “But what condition will Bryan be in after that Tombstone?” asks Byron Saxton. ALBERTO DEL RIO VS. CESARO; As announced on wwe.com earlier today, Cesaro is officially booked to take on Jack Swagger at Payback. Tonight, he clearly feels the effects of the Patriot Lock from last night though. He has a significant limp and Alberto Del Rio is wise to target it. Normally someone who focuses on the arm, Del Rio works a different style of match. Cesaro does his best to fight through the pain, but it hinders him greatly. He is unable to do some of his power offense as he can’t put enough weight on the ankle. Del Rio is vicious as he just stomps on the ankle at every chance he gets. In the end, Cesaro goes for the popup uppercut but is unable to even lift Del Rio without stumbling. As he falls to his knees, Del Rio comes at him with a sick kick to the head, scoring the pinfall. Alberto Del Rio defeats Cesaro!Alberto Del Rio beats his chest as he continues to right the ship of his recent losses. After beating Tyson Kidd last week on Main Event, he picks up a huge win over someone with a ton of momentum in Cesaro. As Del Rio leaves, the ringside doctor enters the ring and has a look at Cesaro’s ankle. It is clearly in bad shape as Main Event on the WWE Network comes to a close.

Monday Night Raw! We start things off with The Authority and fella is there too, fella! Good welcoming of him in to the fold. Weird to see Big E interrupt but it gives some shine to that Intercontinental Championship feud with him and fella. We set up the opener with Big E and Randy Orton and turnabout is fair play as The Shield costs Orton the match against Big E. Big win for Big E. He's a good talent, but has a lack of character so it is nice to see him getting development lately. Paige getting a rematch for the Diva's Championship next week in the UK! I can definitely see her winning there or AJ being a bitch and stealing one. Bo Dallas is debuting next week? Odd date for him to come in, even though it does seem already quite late for him. Curious as to if he actually does anything worth while. Paige, rightfully, beats Alicia Fox and she is coming for that Diva's Championship. Still think she wins it at home in front of mum. Hopefully Triple H isn't around to pedigree her... right Planktung? Moving on, Daniel Bryan is out and he ain't happy with Kane. Big red bastard. A solid promo between the two of them but I would rather have seen some more menacing words out of Kane rather than him just saying yeah Imma face you for the title. Y'know? Y'know. Solid, nonetheless, setting the table THE TABLE for the title bout. 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan answers the challenge of Alexander Rusev! Of course, he wasn't going to last long and Rusev just continues to get his build. I don't see anybody winning the Invitational. Not clean, anyway, which could potentially set up a major feud down the line in that fashion. The odd team of Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam gets a win over Rybaxel. Good. Eff Rybaxel. I'm cool with both guys but not as a team. Not without some character development out of them, at least. Dolph Ziggler gets mike time and he wants one... more... match. Good use of Christian's words from the stand up comedian. Bad News Barrett interrupts and we got ourselves a three-way, Maggle! No, not the three way you're thinking of, Kang! BNB beating Ziggler and Christian's involvement definitely got the triple threat implications going and could result in something good at Payback. Really unsure, too, of if and when Christian loses the US Title. Batista beats Seth Rollins and poor Sethy. Makes sense, however, with Big E pulling off the upset against Orton earlier on. We get some promo time for Jack Swagger and Cesaro which was good for what it was. #PushCesaro. Good promo from Bray Wyatt, still waiting for Cena to make a stand for himself and set the stage for their rematch at Payback that we could expect. Brie Bella beats Summer Rae, nothing too much worth looking at. Oh snap, Roman Reigns wants a piece of Triple H? That could be a big match but I just don't see it happening. Daniel Bryan versus Bray Wyatt in the main event and we get some involvement from Kane to lead to the countout and keep both men strong out of this, even though Bryan gets raped afterward with a Tombstone on the entrance ramp. There's the menacing stuff from Kane, Maggle! A good show overall that set Payback up pretty well.

WWE NXT: May 15th, 2014 – Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida
Opening things tonight, a short video package airs showing Brodus Clay’s vicious assault on Adrian Neville a few weeks back which resulted in Neville losing some teeth. Following the usual intro video, shots of the crowd at Full Sail University are shown as Tom Phillips, Alex Riley and Jason Albert welcome everyone to another edition of NXT! Tonight, not only does Neville return to action, but Adam Rose will take on Corey Graves and we have a huge Triple Threat Divas match! BAYLEY VS. CHARLOTTE VS. SASHA BANKS; Last week, these three ladies fell out of the ring during a battle royal at the same time. Paige chose to face them all in a Fatal Four Way match at TakeOver. Speaking of Paige, the NXT Women’s Champion is on commentary during this match. Being members of the Beautiful Fierce Females, Charlotte and Sasha Banks work together, just beating down on Bayley. They both go for a cover simultaneously, causing friction. Sasha tries to order Charlotte around, but is instead hit with a nice looking neckbreaker. With the partnership gone for now, all hell breaks loose as the action is non-stop and each girl gets several close near falls. Bayley connects on the Belly-to-Bayley but Sasha breaks the count. She attempts the Bank Statement, but Bayley is able to reach the ropes. Charlotte is up and nails Sasha with what she calls Natural Selection! She then shoves Bayley out of the ring, pinning Sasha for the win. Charlotte defeats Bayley and Sasha Banks! The daughter of Ric Flair stares at the announce desk and lets out a hearty “Woo!” Paige raises the NXT Women’s Title in the air and Charlotte motions around her waist. Sasha Banks gets up, holding her neck and turning Charlotte around. They get into an argument before Charlotte points up at the stage shouting that it’s about the title. Sasha shoves her to the mat and storms off. With Sasha on the ramp, Bayley at ringside, Charlotte in the ring and Paige at the announce table all staring each other down, it’s clear that tensions are running high heading into TakeOver.
Backstage, Devin Taylor is with Tyler Breeze, who is looking at himself in the camera on his phone. She goes to ask him about his upcoming match with Tyson Kidd at TakeOver, but Tyler cuts her off, asking if she thinks he looks good. Again, before she can answer, he cuts her off saying that it was a rhetorical question because the obvious answer is yes. “As far as Tyson Kidd goes, that uggo needs to understand that I am no stepping stone. He wants to ‘rejuvenate’ his career but he has no career to fix. He is a loser and I will beat him again at TakeOver. After that, my focus is on the NXT Championship because I think it’s about time we get a gorgeous champion around here don’t you?” Devin doesn’t answer, afraid that she will get cut off, but Tyler gets mad at her for not responding and walks off. ANGELO DAWKINS VS. KALISTO; Angelo Dawkins is no household name, but he’s an athletic kid who likes to have a good time. Kalisto showed last week just how impressive he can be. After a series of early even exchanges, Kalisto busts out a springboard spiral attack for two. A rolling kick sends Dawkins outside, and Kalisto follows out with a beautiful dive. The crowd is completely into Kalisto and his high flying offense. Angelo hits a big running shoulder block and seems to be rallying, but that gets stopped by Salida Del Sol, giving Kalisto the win. Kalisto defeats Angelo Dawkins!Much like last week, the fans at Full Sail University come to their feet for Kalisto as he impresses yet again. He shakes Angelo Dawkins’ hand after the match in a show of respect. The NXT locker room needs to be put on notice that Kalisto has the look of a major player.
Tyson Kidd is shown backstage, as he talks to the camera. “Tyler Breeze, you can call me a loser or an uggo or anything you’d like. When it comes down to it, I am the last graduate of the Hart Dungeon. Fact. I am a former WWE Tag Team Champion. Fact. Yes, I’ve been struggling as of late but I realized that I need my good luck charm by my side to turn things around.” Into the picture steps Tyson’s wife, Natalya. He says that with her at ringside, he won’t lose another match.
An advertisement is shown, promoting Legends House. Catch all new episodes every Thursday night before NXT only on the WWE Network! NON-TITLE MATCH: THE ASCENSION VS. R-TRUTH AND XAVIER WOODS; Seeing R-Truth is a rare treat for the Full Sail University fans, who give him a warm welcome. Truth and Xavier Woods like to have fun, but things turn serious when their opponents arrive. The Ascension are taken aback by Truth and Woods and their quick offense. However, they aren’t the Tag Team Champions for nothing. The Ascension get back on track and start to dissect Woods. It seems as if they are building towards an eventual hot tag but it never comes. The Ascension dismantle Woods and use the Fall of Man to score another win. The Ascension defeat R-Truth and Xavier Woods!
After the bell, the Ascension get their NXT Tag Team Titles and Viktor gets a microphone. He says that the Ascension are the most dominant force, not just in NXT but all of WWE. Konnor takes the microphone and says that to prove it, they are issuing the challenge and are gonna put their titles on the line at TakeOver against Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady. The fans pop for the announcement as TakeOver continues to shape up to be a big event.
A video package airs, recapping the bitter rivalry between Corey Graves and Sami Zayn. Not only has Graves been brutal and vicious throughout, but it has even taken Sami down a darker path than we are used to. It all culminates on May 29th in a Falls Count Anywhere match. ADAM ROSE VS. COREY GRAVES; Here we have a stark contrast in styles. Adam Rose is all about partying and having a good time, while Corey Graves has been absolutely serious about his quest to get to the top of NXT and will get there by any means necessary. The Exotic Express seems to be having fun outside of the ring, but they quickly turn to horror on their faces as Graves picks apart Rose by focusing on his leg. He goes for Lucky 13, but Rose scurries to the ropes. Graves goes back on the attack, but Rose is able to fight back, even scoring a near fall on a big running lariat. He sets up for the Party Foul, but Graves pushes him off into the turnbuckle. Sami Zayn appears atop the stage with a serious look on his face. Graves notices him and dares him to come down to the ring. Zayn starts to walk, but that distraction allows Rose to roll up Graves, getting the 1-2-3. Adam Rose defeats Corey Graves!
Adam Rose quickly exits the ring, as Corey Graves is livid. Sami Zayn cracks a smile, but that changes as Corey leaves the ring, rushes past the Exotic Express and begins to brawl with him. Just like last week, officials have to come out and try to separate them, but are unable to. Graves ends up winning out, locking in Lucky 13 on Sami as officials try and pry him off. The crazed look in Corey’s eyes tells the story that this is an absolute war.
An ad is shown, informing viewers that if they love their WWE Network, they should get a friend to sign up. If you do, you both can receive $25 gift cards to the WWE Shop! NXT General Manager John “Bradshaw” Layfield is shown in his office, when Bo Dallas enters. JBL instantly becomes annoyed, but Bo talks anyway, saying that he feels like he should be a more prominent part of NXT before he leaves. “I’m sure you have seen that I’m coming to Raw this Monday night. Unfortunately, that means my time here in NXT is limited. But, I am the longest reigning Champion in NXT history and I think that you should do more with me. Personally, I feel that I should not only be in main events, but I should also compete at TakeOver.” JBL ponders before saying that he partially agrees. “You can be in the main event next week. Against the man you took the NXT Title from last year, Big E!” The fans cheer but Bo looks unsure of the decision. JBL adds that he can compete at TakeOver as well. Bo assumes that he’s being added to the NXT Title match, but JBL corrects him, telling him that he will actually be taking on Adam Rose! Bo is unhappy with this turn of events.
NON-TITLE MATCH: ADRIAN NEVILLE VS. CURT HAWKINS; Not only are the fans pumped to see a main roster guy like Curt Hawkins, but pop big for the returning NXT Champion. This match very well could steal the show tonight. Adrian Neville comes out of the blocks with a ferocious series of strikes, looking more determined than normal. Hawkins wisely slows the pace to weather the early storm of offense. He busts out some suplexes and climbs to the top for the Heat Seeking Elbow but Neville is able to roll out of harm’s way. Neville dead lifts Hawkins from the mat with a German suplex. He then climbs to the top and hits the Red Arrow to grab the victory. Adrian Neville defeats Curt Hawkins!
The NXT Universe expresses their excitement at a successful return for Adrian Neville but instead of celebrating he goes straight for a microphone. He instantly demands that Brodus Clay get his ass out here. Brodus steps out onto the stage to heat from the fans. Neville speaks, “You knocked my teeth out Brodus. Congratulations. But if you think that is gonna keep me from beating you at TakeOver, you’ve got another thing coming. In fact, I’ll beat you right now.” He holds open the ropes for Brodus to enter, and the big man steps forward before stepping back. He responds, “Good for you Adrian. You are a tough guy. I’m not coming down there right now. I am THE main event player. And being the main event player means I only do things when the money is right and the lights are bright. That’s going to be at TakeOver inside of a steel cage. I’m not just gonna take your teeth this time. I’m gonna take that belt and your career.” Brodus drops the microphone and leaves, with Neville still daring him to get in the ring.

WWE NXT: Thursday 8th May 2014…Tyler Breeze and Justin Gabriel wouldn’t be a bad match, and it was the right way to kick off the show – Breeze getting the win made sense since you’re enhancing him at this time. Tyson Kidd’s interference was interesting, although his post-match comments for Breeze were rather bland-sounding. Breeze and Kidd should have a good match at NXT Takeover, though. So that’s one thing. Up next, Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady beating Sylvester Lefort and Marcus Louie was expected, but I’m wondering if you have goals to continue this angle out until the next Takeover special in September or not – although Amore and Big Cass now going to challenge the Ascension for the NXT Tag Team Championships could be interesting (even though I doubt they’ll win them). I don’t think it’ll be too good a match, but I’m suspecting a squash loss for Enzo in particular. Mainly because of the size difference. I would have opened the show with the number one contenders battle royal to be honest – but I hated the screwy finish with the BFFs dismantling the other Divas. It was just messy, and something that wouldn’t be booked in NXT to be honest. I guess Paige is credible enough to face Bayley, Sasha Banks AND Charlotte, but it seems clear that she’ll be losing the NXT Women’s Championship and moving up to the main roster sometime soon. Still not keen on that battle royal conclusion, though. Kalisto with the singles debut is interesting, and a good win for him against Oliver Grey – who I hope has something ahead of him at least. Lastly, strange to see Adam Rose in the main event spotlight, but I like it. Especially with Sami Zayn as his partner. Good win for them against Bo Dallas and Corey Graves, and it sets up for NXT Takeover as well. Overall, it was a decent show – although the card for NXT Takeover doesn’t look so impressive right now. The steel-cage stipulation and the success of NXT ArRIVAL will most likely draw in viewership, as well as intrigue and maybe the fatal four-way match you set up earlier on. But the card isn’t looking as good as it could have been.
WWE Friday Night SmackDown: Friday 9th May 2014…Sheamus’ cold open segment was strange, but it worked. For a heel though, I don’t think he should have mentioned Byron Saxton. Bad News Barrett beating Dean Ambrose struck me as a surprise, but it elevated Barrett, and continued the angle with Evolution and the Shield’s war. Nice tease of having the three members of Evolution appear here, though. It fit Ambrose’s personality to dare them to come out. I wish that the Beat the Clock challenge wasn’t thrown away for this episode of SmackDown, as to be honest it would have gone the other way around really. Or even built towards Payback next month. Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam seem like an interesting tag team I suppose. Another loss for Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara though – what a waste of Rey. Especially considering Mysterio and Van Dam’s past alliance. Alexander Rusev’s invitational series could establish him, but seems like a serious placeholder for maybe an NXT talent to come in and challenge him at some point down the line. I hope this isn’t a long-running series in any event: Rusev needs strong opposition to get him over sooner or later. I am wondering when Bo Dallas will finally debut. Sheamus and Byron Saxton’s segment was interesting to say the least. It works well for a pre-taped show at least. Seth Rollins and Luke Harper would strike me as an awkward match, to be honest. The booking was mildly confusing too, with the Wyatt Family busy with John Cena and Rollins busy with Evolution. Ambrose and Roman Reigns making the save against Erick Rowan did make sense, though. I suppose we may see another match between the Wyatts and the Shield on RAW? Cesaro beating Mark Henry was fine for what it was – getting over the Big Swing. Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger continue their business with Cesaro as expected, but hopefully you give Cesaro time to breathe and talk in the process of this feud. AJ Lee and Tamina Snuka’s win against the Funkadactyls was expected. Keep Cameron as far away from the ring as possible, and give Naomi a good push down the line. I am suspecting that Paige will eventually win the Divas Championship leading to her dropping the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT Takeover, though. Maybe not at RAW in England, but probably at Payback she will beat AJ. More build with Sheamus’ interview/celebration. Fun stuff, and more Big E featuring could lead to something interesting in their expected rematch over the Intercontinental Championship. Roman Reigns beating Ryback…see you in a few months when you’re relevant again, Ryback. Lastly, Christian retaining the United States Championship against Dolph Ziggler was surprising. The cheap finish made sense, but I think it’ll be Christian dropping the title sooner than later to be honest. Not a bad show, it was a typical SmackDown built around the main event, which is totally ideal.

Friday Night Smackdown: May 16th, 2014 – Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina
This week’s Smackdown kicks off with a video showing clips of the rivalry between the Shield and Evolution. We see Batista beat Seth Rollins this past Monday on Raw after the two factions brawled. The video ends with a clip of Roman Reigns issuing a challenge to Triple H for this Monday night on Raw in England. Michael Cole and John “Bradshaw” Layfield introduce the broadcast as the camera pans over the crowd in Greensboro, North Carolina. They hype tonight’s show including our big tag team main event, a rematch of last week’s classic between Dolph Ziggler and Christian, plus, Triple H will answer Roman Reigns’ challenge! It is sure to be a jam packed night and it looks like it is starting with the COO.
Triple H walks down to the ring, hand in hand with his wife, Stephanie McMahon, to a chorus of loud boos. As they enter the ring, it is clear that they are not only smug, but they also seem to mean business tonight. Before they can even speak, they are still greeted with the constant “Yes” chants that irritate them to no end. Stephanie talks first, telling the fans that they are not out here for anything related to Daniel Bryan. “Daniel has more than enough on his plate with Kane right and who are we to pile more on top of that? Instead, we are here to address Roman Reigns. You all know Roman right? The ‘powerhouse’ of the Shield. A group that was aimlessly floating around the WWE until we gave them a purpose. Now, those ungrateful punks have the audacity to not only challenge our authority but to call out my husband. That is just completely unacceptable.” Stephanie continues to draw massive amounts of heat as she continues badmouthing the Hounds of Justice. Triple H takes over now and directs what he is saying to Roman Reigns. “There are some things you just shouldn’t do Roman. I don’t think you grasp what you are suggesting by challenging me. You see, the three of you facing Evolution at Payback is one thing, since you’ll have your friends with you. A one on one match with me is biting off more than you can chew boy. You’ve got a bright career ahead of you and as the COO of this company, I’m not going to risk ending it. It wouldn’t be best for business.” It seems as if the Shield has heard enough as their theme hits and they appear in the stands to a massive ovation. As they walk down to the ring, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon exit and head up to the top of the ramp. Once inside the ring, the crowd noise calms down and Roman Reigns has a microphone. “I didn’t come out here to listen to you make up excuses for Monday. I came out here because I want the ‘Cerebral Assassin’. I want ‘the Game’. Because whether I get the COO bitch or the 13 time World Champion, I’m gonna kick your ass.” The crowd cheers as Triple H smirks and again declines, citing it being for Roman’s own good. Dean Ambrose has the microphone now, “Look Hunter, we get it. You don’t have it anymore. I mean, the guy who once ended Mick Foley’s career and took the Undertaker to the limit at WrestleMania, couldn’t beat a supposed B+ Player this year.” The crowd eggs this on as Triple H looks annoyed. He still declines though, so Roman gets in a final note, claiming that it’s unfortunate that Hunter has to hide behind Stephanie’s skirt. Triple H is pissed now as he finally agrees to the match. “You want your match? You got it! I am sick and tired of guys thinking I’ve lost it because I wear a suit now. Roman Reigns, you just bitten off more than you can chew. I am going to end you on Monday.” Stephanie tells him to calm down and she takes the microphone. She isn’t happy with Ambrose running his mouth and since Seth Rollins got his this past Monday and Roman is getting his this Monday, it’s only fair that Ambrose compete tonight. “Tonight, we are barring Seth and Roman from the arena as you take on Batista and Randy Orton in a handicap match!” The fans boo as Dean Ambrose is put into a very tough spot tonight.
Returning, a recap is shown of the opening segment where the Shield was able to goad Triple H into agreeing to a match against Roman Reigns this Monday night on Raw. It may have come at a costly price though as Dean Ambrose is being punished by having to face Batista and Randy Orton tonight.
The Bo Dallas vignette from Raw airs again. The inspirational music and quotes continue as Bo is heard saying “there is no such thing as impossible, just people misreading I’m possible. We are all possible, you just have to Bo-lieve.” The words This Monday flash across the screen. NON-TITLE MATCH: CHRISTIAN VS. DOLPH ZIGGLER; Seven days ago, these two met in a title match after Dolph Ziggler won a Beat the Clock Challenge. Three nights ago on Main Event, Dolph issued one more challenge and gets his match right here. In an effort to prove that he isn’t quite ready to give up his spot, Christian attempts plenty of early quick pins. Dolph rethinks his strategy as kicking out takes a lot out of him. He decides to bust out some of his Kent State amateur background by out working Christian on the mat. This turns to Dolph using the sleeper hold to nearly win, but Christian steps up the turnbuckle to pin him for a very close near fall. He gets in control and eventually goes for the Killswitch, but Dolph slips out and scores with a backslide to end a competitive match. Dolph Ziggler defeats Christian!Dolph Ziggler celebrates his win as Christian stares at him in disbelief. While Dolph high fives some fans at ringside, Christian questions the referee about the count and is beside himself. “One has to imagine that pinning Christian will vault Dolph Ziggler back into contention for another United States Title shot!” says Michael Cole.
We are informed of what the top ten things watched on the WWE Network are. Extreme Rules, the Kickoff Show, Legends House, NXT and WrestleMania XXX top the list and we are sure to add Payback to that in a few weeks. Backstage, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose are shown walking and seem to be looking for Seth Rollins. They see something off camera and run to it, and it is revealed to be a fallen Seth. He looks to be out cold and they check on him when Stephanie McMahon appears. Both Reigns and Ambrose demand to know what happened but Stephanie plays innocent. “I have no idea what happened to Seth but I can assure you that I will make sure he gets the medical attention that he should. However, I believe you aren’t supposed to be here anymore Roman.” Stephanie has security come and escort him from the arena, while she brings over medics to check on Seth. JACK SWAGGER VS. SANTINO MARELLA; As Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter walk to the ring, we are shown clips of Swagger’s assault on Cesaro’s ankle this past Monday, which played a major part in Cesaro’s loss to Alberto Del Rio on Main Event. These two have a history as Santino Marella actually won the United States Title from Swagger back in 2012. However, this Swagger is a different animal and he seems to have turned it up a notch since Cesaro left the Real Americans. He makes relatively quick work of Santino, forcing him to tap out to the Patriot Lock. Jack Swagger defeats Santino Marella!Zeb Colter enters the ring as Jack Swagger refuses to release the Patriot Lock. Emma looks on in horror until Swagger finally breaks the hold. There is an intense look in the eyes of the Real American as he places his hand over his heart and, with Zeb, shouts “WE THE PEOPLE!”
The below graphic is shown promoting the main event tonight where Daniel Bryan and Big E team up to face Sheamus and Kane.
An advertisement is shown for the Slam City series on the WWE Network! Enjoy short episodes of WWE Superstars working everyday jobs! BAD NEWS BARRETT VS. ZACK RYDER; To nearly everyone’s surprise, we didn’t get any bad news from Wade Barrett tonight. He comes to the ring and goes right into wrestling, doing his best to wear down Zack Ryder. The former United States Champion came out roaring, but Barrett hits hard and stalls his momentum. Barrett continues to pound away, just brutalizing Ryder, even mocking the “Woo Woo Woo” fist pump. Ryder does get in a surprise dropkick and follows with the Broski Boot, but that’s all for him. Barrett hits the Bull Hammer shortly after and that is enough to put away Ryder. Bad News Barrett defeats Zack Ryder! After having his arm raised by the referee, Bad News Barrett asks for a microphone. This is what the fans were expecting as he begins to dish out the bad news. “Earlier tonight, Dolph Ziggler defeated Christian and now seems to be in line for a title shot. BUT I’M AFRAID I’VE GOT SOME BAD NEWS! You see, Dolph Ziggler lost to me last week and I have been on the quite the roll lately. Just ask Dolph, Dean Ambrose, or this pathetic waste lying next to me when he wakes up. I’m going to be your next United States Champion.” Barrett throws the microphone down and heads off.
Renee Young is backstage with the new tag team of Rob Van Dam and Kofi Kingston. She asks them about their decision to join forces. Rob Van Dam speaks first, saying that Kofi Kingston is someone that he’s always respected and always thought was pretty cool. “Unfortunately, we both have seen our share of ups and downs lately, especially at Extreme Rules, so we thought a tag team would be a cool way to find some success.” Kofi Kingston chimes in, saying that they want nothing more than to be the next team to challenge the Usos for the WWE Tag Team Titles. Rybaxel steps into the shot to interrupt. Curtis Axel starts, “Well, well, well. If it isn’t the flavor of the week tag team. You two think you can just randomly come together, get lucky against us on Monday and leap the competition to a title shot?” He and Ryback give a thumbs down before Ryback says, “Tonight, why don’t you guys face us again? We’ll show you how a real tag team handles business.” RVD and Kingston accept, giving us a new match later tonight. HANDICAP MATCH: BATISTA AND RANDY ORTON VS. DEAN AMBROSE; Dean Ambrose is wisely cautious here, knowing that his Shield brethren are not even in the building anymore. He gets a bit of assistance from the fact that Batista and Randy Orton weren’t in the ring together and would tag in and out. Still though, the two members of Evolution seemingly have their way with the “Lunatic Fringe.” They use quick tags to always keep someone fresh in and beat him down, even toying with him at times. Ambrose is one to not quit though and a rebound lariat on Orton swings things in his favor. He knocks Batista off the apron and plants Orton with Dirty Deeds, but Batista still manages to break the pin. He plants Ambrose with a spinebuster before Orton picks him up and hits the RKO, securing the win. Batista and Randy Orton defeat Dean Ambrose! Not content with just winning the match, Batista and Randy Orton aren’t through. They continue to beat on Dean Ambrose, ripping his shirt and tossing him around at ringside. Orton fires away with a series of right hands, while Batista clears off the announce table. They drag Ambrose’s carcass onto the table and annihilate him with a Batista Bomb/RKO combination through the table! “Oh my god! Dean Ambrose has been broken in half!” screams Michael Cole. Batista and Orton look down on Ambrose’s broken body as two Shield members have now been decimated and taken out tonight!
An advertisement plays to promote Legends House, which airs every Thursday night at 8E/7C only on the WWE Network! Alexander Rusev and Lana are in the ring when we return, for the next installment of the Alexander Rusev Invitational. Lana introduces Rusev and shows us clips of Rusev demolishing Jim Duggan this past Monday on Raw. “After that, I don’t think anyone else is even going to bother trying against the Super Athlete.” She is cut off by the theme music of Sin Cara. The high flyer points to the ring, charges and leaps into the ring to a pop as he is taking the challenge. THE ALEXANDER RUSEV INVITATIONAL: ALEXANDER RUSEV VS. SIN CARA; The masked Superstar is looking to make an impact now that his partner, Rey Mysterio, is on the shelf. Unfortunately for him, Alexander Rusev is on an absolute tear and Sin Cara runs into near instant trouble. He does hit a few moves but a springboard attempt goes wrong and he gets caught in a powerslam. The Accolade gets applied and that’s all Rusev needs for the win. Alexander Rusev defeats Sin Cara!
As usual, Alexander Rusev refuses to break the Accolade until Lana enters the ring and gives the signal. Once again, the clock shows us that Sin Cara did not last five minutes, losing to Rusev in just under three.
Once again, we go backstage to Renee Young, who this time is standing by with one member of tonight’s main event, Big E. She asks him about how it feels to be the challenger for the Intercontinental Title again. Big E responds, “It’s a strange feeling but it’s one I don’t plan on having to get used to. I grew up watching some of the greats in this business compete for that title and I will get it back at Payback.” Renee then asks about tonight and Big E says that he couldn’t ask for a better partner, even with him not 100% after the attacks from Kane. “Daniel Bryan is one of the toughest guys I have ever met. The Authority has thrown everything they could at him and he always gets back up. That’s the kind of guy I’m glad to have as a partner.” KOFI KINGSTON AND ROB VAN DAM VS. RYBAXEL; These two teams met on Raw this past Monday, as alluded to in their backstage segment earlier tonight. On Monday, Rybaxel cut the ring in half on Kofi Kingston but tonight, the focus is on Rob Van Dam. He continually attempts to rally but Ryback’s power proves to be too much for the former WWE Champion. He does manage to hot tag Kingston, but unlike Monday, it doesn’t have a major impact because Ryback nearly takes Kofi’s head off with a Meat Hook clothesline. Axel pulls RVD off the apron, making him hit face first. This allows Ryback to put down Kofi with the Shellshock to avenge Monday’s loss. Rybaxel defeats Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam!
The fans boo loudly as Rybaxel celebrate their victory. Once Rob Van Dam is up, he goes in the ring to check on Kofi Kingston as the winners laugh and leave the ring. It seems like teams keep trading wins, giving nobody a clear path at the number one contendership.
A recap airs of the issues between Bray Wyatt and John Cena, dating back to before WrestleMania. Over a week ago, Bray had Luke Harper and Erick Rowan demolish Cena and chokeslam him off the stage. We haven’t seen John Cena since then, but he will return this Monday on Raw and address the WWE Universe, along with the Wyatt Family. Between that, the Divas Championship match and Roman Reigns meeting Triple H, this is shaping up to be one hell of a Raw! LAYLA VS. NAOMI; During this match, commentary spends time promoting Total Divas as this week’s episode focuses on the serious eye injury that Naomi suffered earlier in the year. Cameron is at ringside but things get interesting when Fandango shows up as well. Lately, he has seemed to be a bit smitten with Layla. Summer Rae appears to get into another shouting match with Fandango, and none of this helps Layla, who runs into the Rear End to end this. Naomi defeats Layla! While the Funkadactyls dance in the middle of the ring, the argument between Fandango and, as John “Bradshaw” Layfield calls her, Mrs. Fandango continues. It looks like the rift between Fandango and Summer Rae grows larger by the show. Backstage, Big E and Daniel Bryan are shown meeting up because the main event is next! BIG E AND DANIEL BRYAN VS. KANE AND SHEAMUS; The dynamic in this match is interesting for sure, as you have three very powerful competitors and Daniel Bryan. This does not mean Bryan backs down though as he goes toe to toe with Sheamus, before coming at Kane with some of the biggest shots of his career. It’s clear that he has not gotten over Kane going after Brie Bella. Things slow down a bit when Bryan’s size disadvantage comes into play and Sheamus and Kane pick him apart. He is ever resilient though, back flipping over Kane and hitting a huge running elbow before making the hot tag to Big E. The former Intercontinental Champion is on absolute fire, hitting both Kane and Sheamus with everything that he possibly can. The straps come down as he signals for the Big Ending on Kane, only to get hit with a low blow by Sheamus. Big E and Daniel Bryan defeat Kane and Sheamus via disqualification! Before Sheamus can do more damage, Daniel Bryan charges in and levels him with a huge Busaiku Knee! The “Celtic Warrior” rolls out of the ring as Bryan waits for Kane to get to his feet. When the “Big Red Machine” does, he notices Bryan in time and drops to the mat, rolling outside of the ring to avoid the knee. Sheamus is to his feet, but barely, as he and Kane back up the ramp. Big E and Bryan want to keep fighting, showing that this is far from over.

Typical way to kick things off with an in-ring segment. It set up the main event nicely and I liked The Authority abusing their power, banning Rollins and Roman from the arena and putting Ambrose in a 2-on-1 match. #ImPossible! Ziggler over Christian is fine as it allows for you to go with the triple threat match for the title that you teased on Raw this week. I wonder who was behind the attack on Rollins... Not a big win for Swagger but it gives him momentum headed into Payback, I suppose. Having the main event tag match on top of the 2-on-1 match? Tonight's show is stacked. Poor Zack Ryder. Meh, The Authority going over Ambrose. I get why, though. The post-match stuff sets up Reigns/HHH nicely as it will be Reigns going over HHH without any outside assistance, I'd imagine. Like I've said before, I really like the idea of an Alexander Rusev Invitational. It's a fun way to go with Rusev because when someone does eventually last the invitational, they don't have to pin or make Alexander pin or submit, instead only having to last the time limit. It's smart booking really since it keeps Rusev protected. RYBAXEL! <3 The post-match note of how there's no clear number one contender leads me to believe there will be a tag turmoil? I've always loved tag turmoil matches. Forgot The Funkadactyls were still around at this point until I read that Cameron was at ringside. Wonder what you'll do with the Layla/Fandango/Summer feud different from real life. Lastly, a solid main event that kept all 4 guys looking strong with the finish. Overall, a fine episode of SmackDown although it did feel a bit long given that there was 8 matches in a 2 hour broadcast.

We start things off on Smackdown with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, Maggle! Big way to start things off and we get The Shield interrupting and Triple H accepts Roman Reigns' challenge for a match on Monday. I don't think we'll get something clean for that match, though. Dolph Ziggler beats Christian in a non-title match and damn it, he deserves another shot at the United States Championship now, doesn't he!? He's here to show the world, Maggle! Seth Rollins has been taken out and now Roman Reigns has been tossed from the arena!? What a fackin' wenchbag, mate. Jack Swagger beats Santino Marella, fair stuff, but we all know that Swagger will lose to Cesaro at Payback. Bad News Barrett beats Zack Ryder. FAN OF ZACK RYDER!? I'M AFRAID I'VE GOT SOME BAD NEWS! HE'S ONLY AROUND TO JOB! Yeah, we got a triple threat match coming. Ew, Rybaxel. Moving on, Batista and Randy Orton get to beat Dean Ambrose because guess what? The Authority got rid of the rest of The Shield because #dicks. Alexander Rusev putria, RAlexander Rusev matka! He destroys Sin Cara. Not just screw America, screw all countries. This is fine build for him and I hope it brings on something big down the road. Next up, Big E gets some interview time and I have to know: Is he talking like a stereotypical black preacher? "IIIII HAVE ME A PARTNAAA!! HIS NAME IS DAANNHHHIIYYALL!! BRAHYAN! YESSUH, ITS A NEW DAY, ITS A NEW DAY YES IT IS!" Tie adjustment. Hol' up. Whoa, Rybaxel got a win? That's new. I have a feeling we might have a tag team turmoil at Payback with all this competition going on. Hey, copycat if you do that. Just saying. Meow. I'm in the danger zone with some divas stuff and it's got Fandango and Summer Rae involvement but I don't really care about them. Naomi winning was good but nobody cares, sadly, because she's getting overshadowed Maggle! Finally, we have a big main event and... Kane and Sheamus get disqualified. What pansys. Fight, damn it! FIGHT! A good episode of Smackdown, did seem like way too many matches though. You've kept progression going on smoothly and well on Smackdown, though, while keeping the big stuff going on Raw.
