Where have you been all these years? Jakks can't even handle TNA and UFC as it is what makes them think they'll be able to handle NJPW? If anything Jakks is biting off more than one can chew metaphorically of course. Apparently you don't understand metaphors well. You mean that they couldn't take advantage of a huge warehouse of left-over parts, get a couple of licenses on the cheap, then use said left-over pieces to create figures that cost them close to nothing to produce? Then when the parts started running out, they get out of the game and because they realize that making new parts for the figures was counter productive to their bottom line? I don't see the point in saying I don't understand metaphors. I wasn't trolling you man... Yep pretty much everything you said except them taking forever to sell a new line figures and cancelling prototypes. You just seemed lost to me is all, you aren't now though. Jakks is going to mess this up like they already messed up TNA, UFC and let's not forget their Nintendo license they also signed and have showed little to nothing regarding it. Plus they never show up for any conventions to where they can showcase their new figures and discuss the future of the line like other toy companies do. Jakks is a mystery.

This whole thread has been very misleading... This news story is actually a few years old! The only NJPW thing they did was throwing the logo on the Hogan as seen earlier in the thread.

Jakks Legends line use the RA bodies.... Here's an old WIP pic of a Liger I did years ago. Note the shirted torso. Yeah, you really missed the point of my post. I like the paintwork on there so far, but those parts are all wrong for Liger -- Jakks never made any RA parts apart from maybe the Delaney/Kaufman figures that are remotely accurate physique-wise for Jushin Liger (or the Young Bucks, or Devitt). That's what I was talking about when I mentioned that the four guys in the OP are very unsuited to Jakks figures.

They weren't all too concerned with getting the perfect body. And, if you would've read the whole thread you would've seen a late Jakks WWE body that would've been perfect. Liger is a stout little guy, not a bean pole. And for the record lol, that was the only shirted torso around when I made the Liger. That said Rey Jr body wouldn't been PERFECT for Liger. I actually finished the job with an all read paint job, then got bored with it and made a compound red/blue version that's in my storage shed. Once I get moved I'll dig him up and post some pictures.

I know, but it makes most wrestlers outside of the eighties bodybuilder club look pretty weird as Jakks figures. Cool. I've seen a bunch of Liger Jakks customs, with some really good customisation, but the base bodies always look off to me. The best Liger customs I've seen have used non-wrestling figures as bases, I think. I don't know what the bases were, Power Rangers or something.

I'm talking about Jakks and they're awful distribution and company as a whole. I wouldnt say Jakks is dead. Jakks is making those 31 inch figures. Jakks has the toy trains. And Jakks just got the rights to make Chavo del Ocho toys.

And yeah, just because Jakks has steered away from the MMA/Wrestling figure game doesn't mean their dead. I'm not going to look up the specifics but I'm pretty sure that they were doing just fine before they got the WWF license in '96.

They had StarWars figs, Batman, and wwe. I cant remember which it was but one of those is made by Jakks. And they all look the same to me so im willing to bet Jakks has some kind of influence on wicked cool.

No point in trying to revive what's already dead. Huh? What's dead? The chance of getting New Japan figures from Jakks. RA Kenta Kobashi and Muta would've been great ...Kobashi was never a member of the New Japan roster and Muta hasn't been contracted to New Japan since 2000. You would have never gotten them anyway.

Granted I could make a ton of excuses as to why I made that typo, I'm not gonna. I didn't check to make sure I had two 2s in my post before I posed. The point still stands that they would have never been made anyway. As for your question, I guess smarmy people on message boards who are missing something from their personal life so they troll around on internet message boards to pacify their obvious lack of self esteem by showing everyone how wrong they are do.

My heart skipped a beat when I read the title but then reality sank in as clicked the link. This was an article I read just after JAKKS singed with TNA (or vice versa).
Yes JAKKS signed with TNA, NWA, and NJPW for the Legends lines, which had all CS collectors creaming their pants at the looooooong list of possible classics/legends were had the potential of seeing in RI/RA-style form. However, much like Mattel's Legend line, the demand was just not there and hasn't been since the toy companies signed on with WWE and TNA. But that is a whole different story.
Sadly we will never see any NJPW figures. The ONLY NJPW likeness we saw was the LOTR 1 Hogan and Angle. I'm not sure if the LOTR 2 Andre prototype is from his time in NWA or NJPW.
