I'm sure this question is asked about 500 times a week, but I needed to get some info on this. So to the Mod of this board, I'd really appreciate it if you could leave this open for me.
Anyway, I was wondering if anybody could give me a detailed description of how to open a torso using the "boiling water" method. Usually I just open the torsos with a flathead screwdriver, but lately I've found them to be a lot more difficult to split open than in the past. I know there's a way to also open torsos by putting it in a pot of boiling water, but if anybody could let me know the specifics, I'd really appreciate it.

I would like to know aswell. I assume the boiling water weakens the glue in the pegs and the seams of the torso making it easier for the screwdriver method to work.

I have heard that you first have to put the figure in a boiling pot of water for about 10 minutes. This should loosen up the torso so that it is way easier to split open. If the torso is still unable to split put it back in the pot of boiling water for a few minutes. Then once the torso is loosened up I would use 2 flathead screw drivers and push in the cracks of the shoulder joints. NOTE: I have also heard from a fellow WF member that boiling the figure could loosen different joints of the figure as well.

Do you have to do that so you don't mess up the softer rubber like the arms?

First I pop the head off the figue before boiling it. try to crack open the top of the torso and put both screwdrivers down the center of the inside part of the torso and pull apart in opposite directions. To loosen up the torso in the shoulder area just use 1 screwdriver. Pull back against the shoulder for leverage and it should pop open. Do the same thing to the other side and the torso should split open successfully without any stress amrks or any problems. To put the torso back together use superglue. Hope I helped.

Ok I'm doing this right now, Just one more thing I need to know. How long should I wait to try and open the torso, should I slet it cool down all the way or just a little?

I would let it cool down a little bit in case it is really hot from boiling and u don't want to get burned. After about 10 mins start cracking the torso open.
