archaeology.org/news/2037-140416-egypt-papyrus-wrestlingWhile this is as bare bones a version of the modern form as you can get, it's interesting to know that humanity has posesses such a concept, since roughly 4,500 years ago. Let's talk about the greats of Pre-1920s wrestling dating back to the earliest known accounts of wrestling in history. On second thought, since I can only think of mythical characters such as Heracles, I suppose we'll just enjoy the article.

There were a lot of mythical characters in professional wrestling. My favorite would clearly have to be Hercules. He was just so big & powerful but was really brought down by that Roma guy. Then there's Zeus. Ya know, for a "God", he sure sucked. However he had some pretty big feuds in his short run. Madusa was pretty awesome. Great manager and a great wrestler. She's probably the best female wrestler Ive seen growing up. Minotaur is right up there with Zeus. While not a God, I expected a lot more from a monster then some quick losses to guys like the 123 Kid. Swing & a miss, but thanks for posting.

Swing & a miss, but thanks for posting. Actually it was sarcasm. Stop trying to live a gimmick on a message board and you might enjoy life and laugh a little more. <script charset="UTF-8" src="chrome://hdv/content/hdv.js" type="application/javascript"></script> One: Sarcasm doesn't carry over well, when you state things that were realistic opinions held by the majority of educated fans. Two: What about loving wrestling as a concept, & enjoying studying it's origins constitutes a "gimmick?"
