I've been thinking about joining for a while. it's been a long time since I've RP'ed so I may be kinda rusty haha. Take it from someone who has been struggling as of late with their RP quality: sometimes you just need the right opponent.

I figured I might as well jump in on this. I started in the WFWF in late 2008, and was really just looking for something to do in my free time. WFWF has made me improve greatly as a writer, increased my vocabulary, and has built friendships that have lasted for years. Not only will you be entering a competitive atmosphere where you can get constructive criticism from some of the most talented writers you will ever see that want nothing more than for you to improve as a writer, but you will also enter a very laid back community with a lot of great guys who are easy going and fun to talk to.
I'm open to any questions if anyone wants to shoot me a PM or quote this post, even though it seems like Shawn has got a lot of that end covered.

Someone here mentioned this being less "wrestling" and more of "a day in the life". That's sorta half true. I write a character named David Brennan who's an alcoholic skinhead whose dad is a crime boss. I have a tendency to get swept up in that. The real key here is to find the balance. You have to approach any character you want to do as an individual, living, breathing thing that just happens to have a unique job. The best writers have this amazing balance between the "off screen" and the "on screen". You also have to consider the fact that you don't have the production value of television to convey your backstory. Your rps are essentially going to do for you what tv spots, t shirts, and all that sh*t would do on tv.
Me? I like to go pretty out there, but I always try to write scenarios that are thematically similar to the match I'm in.

I always have had the temptation to join this. Unfortunately I fear I would burn out too quickly, as I did during my simming days, and I know I do not have enough free time to give it the proper attention it needs. Hope all goes well though, stuff like this deserves more attention

This has come through at a time where I am also contemplating getting into text fedding...like other guys the main issue is time, but both avenues are very interesting and I appreciate all the help on here for either.

Well we would love to have you in WFWF, and admittedly our board is more active than text Feds (sorry Zeke ) so you would likely get more help in WFWF. Obviously we love working with new guys, so it would be cool.

Though Rejero doesn't have much of a character, so I would probably use Kyle Mathews (with one T ) since he's very entertaining and probably easier to write for. Though I could probably use Rejero too, Mathews would just be easier.

forumroleplay.com/roleplay-guides/bad-roleplay/I suggest the majority of users interested in this type of "role-playing" read the following article before investing any time into this venture. These "writers" or "role-players" that are affiliated with WF-WF have some of these issues. I would also recommend if you are younger you need to understand you are not getting into what you think you are. This is not a wrestling based role play community it is more based around adult themed characters in adult situations with a wrestling theme.

Thought everyone was going to go their happy way and you weren't talking to the WFWF guys and we weren't talking to or about you any more? Oh, How is Jey Benoit working out anyway? Anyway, I didn't see any names mentioned in the post in question, just simply stating my opinion on the topic. Hopefully all of the WFWF can respect an outside opinion. Agree to disagree maybe? I'm sure you wouldn't ban together and childishly make fun and try and humiliate someone for there opinion would you? That just doesn't sound like anything a member of the WFWF community would do. Although best of luck getting new comers, I can't wait to see how their creative influence is celebrated within the community, Hopefully with this initiative to get new members, someone will come in with experience and writing talent and maybe shed some light into that dark dramatic and sexual perverted atmosphere the community has created for itself over the years. Best of luck to all of the WFWF community, especially you Prophet. I really want to see the WFWF succeed in all its future endeavors.

we've adapted an ROH/indy style naming situation because as I pointed out, our schedule being one show a month doesn't lend itself to following WWE's "4 TV shows then a PPV" format but rather the ROH/indy federation format of "every show is a show.. some shows are huge shows". As some people have pointed out, this will make a lot of the "minor" shows more important because it'll eliminate the idea of "build up shows" but rather have a natural climax.
Also, for people questioning if they'll have time to do it or not, I've been doing WFWF for the last ten years. Currently, "real life" is super busy for me so I'm only doing a few matches a year. I just had my first match after a year hiatus, am about to have my second, then unless something cool happens, my next match will be in about 4 months. I'm considered on "the active roster" still though because while my first match in over a year recently happened, the feud that built it up played out over about six months of shows and storylines. You can contribute to the federation a lot more than just roleplays. Granted, my character probably has a lot more leeway to come and go as he pleases from a creative license stance with ten years of character mythology, but if you can write the situation for it, you can certainly program feuds around your allowed time.
A good portion of myself and Drakz' feud into Superbrawl was deliberately based on Phillip Schneider, the character, not appearing on shows when he's booked or expected to which was done by design since Prophet of Ash, the writer, would not be able to write show by show roleplays.
