Ok so I caught Wonder Woman earlier today and I was VERY impressed. The following are SPOILER FREE thoughts on the movie and its stars & director. Word™ you may find this of interest. Gal Gadot was great in this movie. She was good as the awe inspired fish out of water & terminally confused Diana and excellent as Wonder Woman. She has come on leaps & bounds since BvS. Whether its Patty Jenkins direction vs Snyders is a question that will remain....BUT the fact of the matter is for me? She was great here. It makes me want to watch BvS again to see her in action. I stand by my statements that she was rubbish as Dina in BvS but here? She IS WW. Well done GG...ultimately I was wrong about you. Chris Pine....ultimately responsible for the heart of the movie and he delivers very well. His part as a counter balance to Diana/WW teaching her about the world was A1. Also impressive is Patty Jenkins portrayal of WW1. I was VERY wary of WW1 being used here because it isn't like WW2. Jenkins is careful not to portray the Germans as monsters/warmongers and also(massive respect to her) showed off the Imperial arrogance of the British regime of this period. Wonder Woman deserves its financial success and its comfortably my favourite of the DC Cinematic Universe so far. It will of course draw comparisons with Cap:TFA(rightfully so considering one event) and Thor because of the deity out of water angle but it will stand well enough on its own. Above comments about it being lighter and benefiting from it are also accurate although when it goes dark its tough. The movie also contains an emotional punch or two that was unexpected. recommended.

This, plus the fact that Snyder is gone from JL, give me some hope that Justice League could be a solid movie at the very least. Before seeing WW, I had no interest in JL or the DCU. But after seeing it, I'm hyped again for it.

Still, WW's success at least gives me hope they may not completely botch JL.

And you're swaying me.. For one I think Gal Gadot is absolutely stunningly beautiful. So it wouldn't be that bad having to look at her for 2 hours. Is it better than Man of Steel? Because I was stoked for MoS back in 2013 and was let down tremendously.

Because I was stoked for MoS back in 2013 and was let down tremendously. I enjoyed MOS(still do) but I enjoyed WW a lot more. Now there's nothing about it that demands you see it in theaters(big scoping effects etc etc) I will admit but yeah I felt WW was a lot better than MOS.

Reshoots usually take about 2 weeks so it's believed that he's doing a decent chunk of stuff. Granted like you said it likely won't change a ton but hopefully Whedon can add a little of his magic touch on it.

Directors taking over projects rarely work out well lads so I wont get too excited but Ill tell ya this much. MOS, BvS & Justice League have shown me that Snyder has lost his touch for doing trailers.
Whedon's final trailer for JL should blow us to f*ck away.

I just wonder if he is gonna get billed along with Snyder as "Co-director " or something.

Decided to watch Suicide Squad again since it was added to Netflix recently, and somehow I enjoyed it way more now. Maybe it was because I finally got around to watch Batman v Superman and realized what hot garbage that was so I enjoyed Suicide Squad way more? Not sure. I had a good time with it, I really did. Excited for the second movie now.

So knowing that going in and being proven 1000'000 % right? I was able to enjoy the movie a lot more and soak up Leto and Robbie.

Yes, even worse than the basketball scene in Catwoman. Robbie was alright, I didn't mind her, but I never really liked Harley Quinn to begin with so I can't really comment on that. I still think Kinnaman stole the show as Flag. He just can't not look badass. Everything he does is just cool.

I would easily be able to forgive Suicide Squad if it wasn't such an incoherent mess.. That movie is all over the place.. I read that it went through 4-5 different edits by 4-5 different teams.. And it's extremely apparent.
Throw everything else on top of that and I consider it one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
If it just had one direction tho, I'd be much more forgiving.

My number one issue with Suicide Squad: the sacrifice at the end. He was around these people for a couple hours. "I'm not going to lose another family." The ?

I dont think Suicide Squad was a "bad" movie but it was weak. I say it wasnt bad because they did well with what they were given. Its the plot that really hurts the movie. I could give you a list of foes the Squad could have faced off with that would have been better. Honestly it felt like they wanted to give us a Joker/Harley movie without making it a Joker/Harley movie or including Batman. I feel like a Batman movie should have come first (possibly 2) to set up the origin or Joker & Harley's relationship as well as Deadshot background. Then possibly use Task Force X members in another movie down the line and then give the Squad their own film. It just seemed like none of the characters were developed well enough to just throw them on the big screen.

Random thought...
I really hope they don't make Swamp Thing 100% cgi in the live action JL:D film. Practicality is key.

Wonder Woman is putting a serious crimp in the start of Universals Monster Universe....its wrecking the Mummy this weekend. Also Patty Jenkins has admitted she also wouldn't have cast GG as WW....LOL

Patty basically said she would have cast an American as Wonder Woman and wasn't familiar with Gadot... let's not turn this into any version of "Patty Jenkins doesn't/didn't like Gadot as WW"
