Makes sense. Batista wants to follow him over the DC. People want him to play Bane.

Good move for Gunn IMO. Suicide Squad was WBs answer to GOTG so yeah....give him a shot. I would have high hopes for a Squad movie from Gunn. I wonder how he will cope with the more interference minded WB/DC media division

Makes sense. Batista wants to follow him over the DC. People want him to play Bane. This is my first time hearing this idea, but I really like it. I never cared for Batista as a wrestler but I've enjoyed him as an actor to this point. I think he could easily play a cerebral monster. It honestly kind of seems like what he's been training for to this point with his other films. The Man with the Iron Fists, Diaz in Riddick, Spectre, the Casino movie he did with De Niro, and especially as Sapper in Blade Runner where he had that quiet serial killer vibe about him.

Isn’t the dc universe cancelled Last I heard were rumours that they want to do a Flashpoint deal with Wonder Woman-which is what's been rumored for the delay to 2020 for the movie. Something about maybe Wonder Woman altering the time line to bring back Steve Trevor which would open the door for the whole new fresh takes on the characters. I mean at this point with the way everything is for the DC cinematic universe why the hell not lol.

They should just concentrate on shows and animated movies, that’s their best work.
The people they have in charge of these movies are just not good

Seems like Aquaman is going to do pretty well financially out of the gate. It should have a 300m global haul by Friday and it's projected to do $100 domestically through Christmas. I'm looking forward to it. Glad audiences aren't holding Justice League against it.

Havent seen it but Ive heard/read quite a bit that Aquaman is a flop (to no surprise). With essentially the entire Superman cast going to have to be redone, Affleck's willingness to be Batman a question mark, most people not liking Cyborg, Flash or Aquaman....I think its just time to scrap everything and restart. If they can pencil in Gadot to continue being Wonder Woman since it got positive reviews great but the whole Justice League just isnt working. Time to hit reset.

I haven't heard anything along those lines at all. It's getting middling critical reviews, but it might end up being the highest-grossing DCEU movie to date... I think it's almost certain to finish at least 2nd after Wonder Woman.

Went with my son and wife to see Aquaman yesterday and we all really enjoyed it. The movie looks like a million bucks and it was a lot of fun. At the end of the day this is a movie about freaking Aquaman. I am kind of amazed that it even exists, but it works way better than you would think. If you want to go and see a fun movie, Aquaman is a fun time

Aquaman was pretty solid overall. I liked it more than I thought I would. The action and special effects were phenomenal and Jason Mamoa really has won me over with his casting. They also did a really good job of setting up the underwater world with the seven kingdoms, albeit it came at the expense of exposition heavy dialogue throughout the film. With that said, there were quite a few moments in the movie that were cringeworthy in their cheesiness but it didn't really affect my enjoyment. Fingers crossed it continues to do well financially so we get more DC up on the big screen. It's honestly amazing that they pulled off an Aquaman movie as it is, but I'm definitely in for a sequel.

haven’t seen some of the past replies in here, so not sure if it was said already, but...
NOT saying that he wasn’t a good aquaman, but does anyone else think that jason momoa would’ve made a perfect Lobo, if they’d ever put him on the big screen?

Thought Aquaman was a pretty fun flick. Went with my dad who really doesn't like superhero movies and he really enjoyed it. He said it was Jurassic Park and Star Wars mixed together under water haha. If you want to get really critical about it, there is plenty to nitpick. If you look at it from a purely popcorn flick perspective, it's kind of a home run. I'm glad I saw it in the theaters and didn't wait for Blu-ray. My theater was packed tonight and the majority of the theater clapped when it was over. It's already made $600m worldwide and it's projected to take another $50m domestically this weekend. Doesn't seem to be anything standing in its way until Glass comes out, either. I think worldwide this ends up being WB's highest grossing film of this universe to-date. It makes you wonder how different things would be had they just built towards Justice League. I think you can make the argument that Wonder Woman and Aquaman would have been quality Phase 1 films in comparison to stuff like First Avenger and Thor. I'm guessing Aquaman 2 is probably a pretty safe bet already. haven’t seen some of the past replies in here, so not sure if it was said already, but... I think that was the general consensus after Justice League was that he was just playing Lobo in an Aquaman costume. The look obviously matches but he's also got that batsh*t crazy smile and laugh that just oozes Lobo. I totally dig it but I feel bad for anyone who is an Aquaman comic purest, if such a thing actually exists.

I'm guessing Aquaman 2 is probably a pretty safe bet already. I def. think so if they bided their time and built it up. And I think a big part of it would have been if it was a different, much more fun Justice League movie starting out with Luthor and Joker teaming up and trying to form the Legion Of Doom- which could contrast the building of the Justice League as the movie progresses. Like as they show each hero getting recruited they also cut to the new supervillains being discovered leading to the big battle climax. Sort of similar to Civil War only with the actual heroes vs. villains. Then they could have built to Darkseid and hopefully Brainiac for the next two films as the big bads if it was successful.

Yup if they had built towards Justice League & took their time? they would be rolling in the $$$$. But for some reason they wouldn't follow a formula that proved successful. And they sh*t the bed that hard it will take them years to clean the sheets.

I thought Aquaman was solid...... I've heard quite a few people say that it was exposition-heavy to the point of parody. I still wanna see it because I've always liked Aquaman even though he's been treated like a goober for years.

It was exposition heavy.....because Wan had to work backwards from Justice League and explain things even more(IMHO)
