Thought it was a fun way to spend a couple hours. I can be critical but it’s a comic book film so I held my expectations low. Not everything will be Civil War or Dark Knight. Those are the outliers.

Finally got around to seeing Aquaman. My only real complaint is, I thought it dragged a lil towards the middle. But overall, I enjoyed it. I thought it finished considerably stronger than Wonder Woman did. If I was gonna rank the DCEU films, it'd be a contender for the best yet.

The ending of WW was weak sauce and HORRIBLY derivative. Its certainly a strong contender for the 1st spot man. Its weakness lies in the fact that Wan had to explain a load of stuff because of the characters portrayal in JL. Not knowing about the MB etc. reason no 1234567890 working backwards from the goal doesn't & DIDNT work for WB. JL is still the weakest of the bunch for me by a mile...

I still think WW would have been better & more original had there been no Ares. No evil god corrupting man. No big final CGI fight. Just Diana realizing that man can be truly evil and reality is harsh. It would have been a reality check that could have defined the character in future films.

Agreed.... Powered up German Colonel would have done the trick. I realize why Jenkins did it though.... It was her own commentary on WW1. She correctly realizes it's a lot more complicated than WW2.... And she didn't want to leave the British Empire blameless.... Hence making Ares part of the war cabinet.

I look forward to Aquaman sequel. I said I thought parts of the first dragged a lil, but that shouldn't be an issue in the 2nd since the groundwork is already laid out.

I binged watched all of Titans last week. It absolutely blew me away. It was EXCELLENT. Clearly Geoff Johns has FINALLY got rid of the dreaded DC media division embargo because there's no evidence of it here. Anyone who has seen it will confirm that.
Now they have clearly took some cues from DD & Punisher on Netflix with pushing boundaries & it pays off in spades.
well done Exec producer Geoff Johns.

I ended up watching it all over just a couple of days I was that hooked. I just read that there is a Doom Patrol series coming out and that Cyborg is part of it. So it will be interesting to see how that pans out. It was so cool how the people behind this show did not have their hands tied like some other DC shows have in the past. The ending blew me away. Did you make sure to watch the bit after the credits? Makes me think going forward that this could be some kind of Titans/Young Justice show.

If the inclusion of you know who made you say holy crap, I assume the end credits scene will do the same.

just watched it.....holy f*ck.
Its like you don't have to have WW, Supes etc in there...but mentioning them? talking about them? Just makes it all the better...just so easy.
I pity the Bruce Timm on JLU, The Guys on Smallville, Berlanti on Arrow and Snyder on MOS. no leeway whatsoever on this...NONE..ZERO....ZIP.
I remember getting excited when Metropolis was mentioned in Batman Forever....LOL

We’ve know he was leaving for a while now but still sucks Affleck is officially out. I feel like it’s wasted potential as he was a huge bright spot in BVS.

I don't think BVS was good, nor did I think they made all of the right decisions with his characterization, but I never enjoyed seeing Batman on the big screen more than I did when I watched Affleck in BVS. He was electrifying. Hopefully his replacement is also up to the task.

He was electrifying. Hopefully his replacement is also up to the task. I’ve defended the BVS Ultimate edition, and while it still has many flaws, is still a better movie than what most people give it credit for. I was hooked the moment we saw Affleck running through the Metropolis destruction from MOS. You could tell he bought into Snyder’s vision and gave it his all. To me, Affleck was the character come to life and was easily the best mix of Bruce Wayne and Batman. A lot of fans didn’t like him “killing,” but to me it fit the character Snyder was going for as a grizzled veteran who had been let down one too many times. Robin’s death was his breaking point, and seeing the control for the Batmobile’s turret being on Robins’s seat showed that he had not always killed and him breaking his “golden rule” was only recent. Alfred even spoke of this a few times. It was tough to watch him in JL. WB and Wheedon just didn’t get the character that Ben and Snyder had created. Since they basically reshot the whole movie in two months you can see that Ben seemed to mostly be phoning it in. I have doubts that we’ll ever see the Snyder version but if we do, I feel that we’ll see a similar performance to what we had seen in BVS.

Sucks for sure about Affleck as Batman. I liked him in the role in BvS especially when he was kicking the snot outta those Russian gangsters.
BvS & Suicide Squad laid the groundwork for a story about Lets Joker killing Robin...we likely wont see that now.

He said enough footage was shot for a whole Joker/Harley movie yet no one knows what happened to this footage. People jumped to hating him right away but I feel that SS wasn’t a true representation of him and he deserved another shot which I don’t think he’ll get. It’s weird that we’ll never see Batfleck and Letoker have a conversation together. While I love what Batman in BvS, one criticism I agree with is that casting him 20 years into his career was too much. They should have simply casted Affleck as a Batman in the prime of his career. That would have still been enough time for Batman to “lose his way” like he had in BVS.
