Don't understand people's excitement when "the beat drops". It's not even music, it's just noise. Dubstep, EDM, and Trap is uncreative and lazy. Using the same synths, snares, etc. All the music in their genres sound the same. Apologies for my silly rant, just had to get that off my chest. That takes incredible talent. I don't get what you mean by it's just noise and not music. |

People who make that type of music can be talented, but what they're essentially doing is riding on a conformity train that in a sense; plays it safe. Dubstep and EDM are generally extremely accesible genres and while it does take talent to create that, the sound that those genres produce is very cliche and overused. If anyone likes that kind of music, I can respect that. However, regardless if you do or don't, talented or untalented, the overall sound of the EDM genre has been overplayed to the point of commodity and it is hard to find an artist that brings something new to the table. That man who used the launchpad proves my point, his samples, though well constructed and on point; are essentially cliche and overused. |

People who make that type of music can be talented, but what they're essentially doing is riding on a conformity train that in a sense; plays it safe. Seems the issue you have with dubstep is an issue you could have with any mainstream music genre. I don't see what's wrong with catering to a mass audience. This has nothing to do with talent but just the repetitive nature of EDM. |

I don't get what you mean by it's just noise and not music. Also,from 0:19-1:00 is just an example of what I meant by just noise. Every dubstep song follows the same formula, buildup and then drop. It is so repetitive and there is no variety. Maybe once in a while they'll spread out the drops throughout different points of the song but that is all. |

Most dubstep is repetitive but same can be said about most genres. It takes serious digging to find stand out stuff. Pretty much all rock on the radio sounds similar etc. When it comes to music I dont prefer one genre or even artist over another. I just pick and choose want songs are unique and different to me and just overall sound good. I do have a prefernce in music with a bit of energy behind it but I like a few slower songs too.

Some of it is very good. I like it for the most part but some of it is just unneccesarry. Skrillex is nice to listen to. As well as Bassnectar, Benassi, and Frostman.

I can't stand it, and I go out of my way to avoid it, as well as any branch of electronic/house/etc. It just does absolutely nothing for me, I see no value in it, and it all sounds the same to me. I also hate that it's seeped its way into mainstream top 40.
I know it's the in thing right now, so if people like it, that's great. I won't knock their personal taste. I just couldn't be more disinterested. I have friends that dabble in it, and they've played me stuff, I just can't do it. Not for me.
