I take it you went to the one in Gurnee? I haven't been there in years. I'm honestly surprised they haven't closed yet. I thought it was just a matter of time. As far as the fingerprinting, I guess I don't have a problem with it. If its a matter of safety, If they are taking steps to make my experience as safe as possible, I'm ok with that. Now, as far as how it was organized, that's a different story. But just to play devil's advocate here, if it was the first day of the season, they were bound to have long lines. They need to figure out how to do this in a timely manner. I'd say give them a few weeks to get the kinks worked out. Yes I went to the one in Gurnee Illinois, it's the only one in Illinois. I dont see the park closing anytime soon. I've had season passes for years now and it just gets more and more expensive for less and less value. Meanwhile every year there is more and more people. Also it is laughable you would think the finger print for your safety, they finger print out of greed. They do not want people sharing their passes. Like say you have a brother who looks like you. If for some reason you dont go to the park and have a pass, you could let your brother use your pass to go and get in with that pass. This kind of pass sharing is what they want to prevent. On one hand I think its a big corporation being greedy. If I buy season passes to the Chicago Bears, those tickets are mine. If I dont want to go to a game I can give you my tickets, I paid for them and I am not going that day. I feel the same applies here. I paid for the season pass, I didnt go, so why shouldnt I be able to give my pass to my brother? I never shared my pass with anyone by the way. I can see why people would do it though. Bio Metrics are just a form of making sure you are who your pass claims you are. It's the same reason they do Bio Metrics at most work places. The company wants to make sure you are the person who will collect the pay check. It's done to keep the company safe from time theft, not to keep you safe at work. The same can be said for Six Flags. Six Flags is doing Bio Metrics so that only 1 person may use a pass which was paid for. My big fear is how far will that greed go? Will they eventually sell your Bio Metric information? Bears tickets are a one time thing where the pass could be easily abused. As for selling your info, I'd imagine it wouldn't be any different than any company selling your credit card info, unless you give them the ok, it'd be illegal.

finger print scanning is scary as far as someone using it for the wrong purpose....but if it keeps things safe, I'm for it I suppose
Cal Norton Jr.'s voice: But I tell you what, if someone tries to scan my eye ball, I'll sock ya str...str...straight in the face. Ha ha."

I can only imagine that most people who have no problem with this are the same type of people who would have no problem letting TSA security pat down their children's bodies at airports. I'm not trying to compare getting groped to getting a biometric scan as being similar because obviously they're very different. But when people are used to complying to bs for false "security" (biometric scan isn't even for security) then it just progressively gets worse as we see now with the government trying to justify letting police search citizen's cell phones during a simple traffic stop. This is all a part of a big mind game and it's working since so many people just think it's no big deal. I don't think Six Flags is going to sell anyone's data or misuse it but what they're doing is getting people used to consenting to giving up their data with no questions asked. A lot of people don't know that before the Supreme Court made a ruling on this, (http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424127887323309604578428572996551256) it wasn't unheard of for police to force people to take a blood test to test their blood alcohol content. Unfortunately, even though there's that ruling, the trend of excessive abuse by police will only continue and the day will return when these DNA collections will be standard and mandatory. Everyone's so used to complying with these "security" rules since 9/11 (and blinded by cool new technology) that they allow this stuff to get worse and worse. Look 20 years into the future from now when people are completely used to scanning their fingerprints to gain entrance to places and use their fingerprint to gain access to all of their favorite technology. Do you think most people will then find it odd when they have to provide their fingerprint scan to a police off when they get pulled over for speeding or will most people be so used to doing it that they blindly see no problem with it? I guarantee most people will simply comply.

The Season Passes are also a one time thing. Once they scan the pass at the front gate that's it. No one else can enter the park with that pass. Same as with Bears tickets, once that ticket is scanned that's it no one else can get in with that ticket. How can you abuse a season pass? They advertise them as being unlimited visits. Let me remind you, I've never let anyone borrow my pass and I would never want to get in with someone else's season pass. My only Gripe is greed. They raise prices, they lower the value you get for higher prices, and now I fear they will eventually sell my Bio Metrics. The recent security breech at Target comes to mind. What if someone found a way to steal my Bio Metrics from Six Flags? What if a disgruntled employee stole our information? The park would have my name, address, phone number, email address, credit card number, and Bio Metrics. It doesnt sit well with me.

If you use it one day and a friend uses it the next day instead of buying his own, that would be screwing the system. Companies don't like that, that's what causes price increases. I still fail to see what use anyone has with another person's biometric data. Hand scanners aren't that common unless it's used to get into a government or other secured building.

I think the fingerprint thing is too much (especially for this) and I agree that it could lead to trouble..
