I just got back into collecting, so my elites are starting to pile up. With the Jakks line, I just ran three feds WWE WCW and ECW, since the volume of characters was so immense. The elites aren't that numerous, but still the roster is too big for one brand. Do you guys do a real roster split between same promotion bands or form a second fed? Or just let a bunch of guys warm the bench?

I just started a fed recently. With over 200 unique wrestlers "available" to me in my collection thanks to customs and fix-ups I have a lot to choose from. i don't want to invest the time to follow too many story lines and feuds nor do I want to run separate promotions or brands. I stick to ~40 that I will use. I plan to rotate guys in and out using the various gimmicks of injuries, suspensions, leaving to make a movie, whatever floats my boat so that roster changes sort of make sense.

I've only had two shows using my new elite collection, so I doubt I will split it up soon. But I think eventually I'll do Raw and Smackdown as separate brands with minimal crossover, outside of special dream matches at the big PPVs. It just bugs me to have a ton of guys and not be using so many of them.

My promotion is actually made up of five smaller promotions with distinct differences, but when I was younger I did have a huge fed with more wrestlers than I could count...having a card with 12 matches and almost all of them bring multi-man matches (those were the days!) seemed normal...

I have three Feds and the titles separate them into categories fairly. Any new wrestlers I get I would have to fire a wrestler to replace one. I limit my Feds having only 30 wrestlers, though my developmental fed May have as much as it wants except they're not guaranteed to wrestle every week though they will get they're chance to shine by winning to impress. More ya win the more you'll be on the show. Fair enough  |

My figure fed is what I call a "showcase" fed. Because of that, it does not need to have an exactly stable, people recurring at the same time roster. I have about 60 wrestlers.
What I do is do is divide them (more or less) randomly into 4 groups, with each group being a "show". Make a card out of each group. Four shows is a "two week period". Do this twice in a row and have a ppv after the 8th show.

For my personal fed (not my text fed), I have 3 companies; WWF, ROH and Saturday Night's Main Event.
SNME is the Legends show, WWF is for Basic figures and ROH is for Elite figures.
But even that is hard to manage. Well, the WWF is anyway. The other two are quite easy.

I went the route of two separate promotions at first, then I brought the two together for a while before shaking things up with a draft.
From then on, I would swap talent in and out every month, mainly trading between shows, to freshen up the storylines after a PPV event.
It's very easy to have a cluttered roster, so try to keep an eye on the number of people you use each show. Not necessarily the number of active feuds, just how many characters you know you'll realistically use for a given show.

Well, the way I'm doing my fed now is going to be kind of an indie fed. So, the plan is to have a base roster of stars and then use the other superstars as "guest stars" and special appearances.

When I was younger... I did the brand split (Raw,Smackdown,ECW) and I Found that hard but fun to manage because I was only a kid. When they moved to Mattel I got rid of the split because there wasn't enough stars... and now there's only a few stars I like using so i'm doing ECW (Current Stars)
I Would say do a brand split, it's a lot more fun but I'm all about being realistic so I wouldn't do ROH and that lot but it's up to you
