Power Rangers to team up with Lionsgate! It was absolutely inevitable that we’d eventually get a big-budget live-action feature version of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. I’ve been saying for years that eventually some studio would get the film rights to these characters, spend $100 million-$150 million on the project, craft a somewhat more serious and grounded variation of the property, presumably with an origin story told in the Rise of the Guardians/X-Men mold, along with truly bombastic action sequences, and then gross $500 million worldwide. And today is that day. Lionsgate (Lions Gate Corporation) has signed a deal with Saban Brands to bring a live-action Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie to the big screen. If you’re a fan you’re probably very happy today.

Only if it's the original Power Rangers with a new design.. Not the same cast, obviously.. But this version That's the only way I'd be slightly interested.. Anything else and it's a no-thought pass.

This is just a great day for stuff I liked getting rebooted (this and Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire)! I hope this is a success because I'm really interested.

Better use the Green Ranger and not the white. White Rangers was just all wrong. Truly the start of the downfall for the MMPR

Better use the Green Ranger and not the white. White Rangers was just all wrong. Truly the start of the downfall for the MMPR I would enjoy an entire movie dedicated to the original team fighting the Green Ranger.. I feel like that's a story arc that would be perfect for a major motion picture.

The original MMPR was my favorite show as a kid. I still remember it vividly. Of course they won't be able to recapture that lightning in a bottle. But it might be good who knows.
