Found this awesome site which has a bunch of old toy catalogs you can read online for free. They've got a selection of several companies including Galoob, Hasbro, Mattel, Kenner, and a few more. Click the "catalogs" bar at the top to browse by company. Brings back a lot of memories! www.orangeslime.com/?cat=4

Interesting, I bookmarked it for later. I used to have a few Kenner catalogs from the early 80's when my Grandmother was toy department manager for one of the old Bradlees stores.

I used to love when you would get the booklet inside a toy showing future figures and playsets. Kenner was great for doing that in their SW and Batman lines. I think I remember Hasbo and Mego doing it with the Joes and Action Jackson toys.

man I remember as a kid we would get the JC Penny or Sears catalogue and I would spend hours just circling everything I wanted for Christmas. It's awesome, my little girl does that with the Toys R Us catalogue.

This was awesome. I took screen caps of the Visionaries' pages. Thank you for sharing. I wish they had more. I would love to see these from like 87-98.

I remember my parents ordering me a couple Star Wars sets back in the late 70's early 80's. One had Cantina characters Greedo, Snaggletooth, Hammerhead and then one with X-Wing Luke and 2 others.

Just the smell of an old Sears catalog would bring back a flood of memories for me. Thanks for posting!

I remember in '94(??) getting a catalog for, I believe, Hills, which is where I first saw my most beloved playset of all time, The Daily Bugle. I would stare at that thing so much, just begging for it for Christmas. When I finally got it....man, it was so awesome. I am sitting here, thinking about how I threw it away a few years ago, and how much I regret it now.
Man, what a great post. Thanks man!

For me it was the Real Ghostbusters Firehouse playset. Man I loved that thing, always used it as a generic hideout for my superhero figures. I gave it away to charity when I was 18 or 19, but in recent years I've regretted it. Still, I did keep the instruction booklet for nostalgia, and photos of the it are easy to find online. And I know it went to a good cause. I would love it if Mattel made a brand new/updated/expanded Real Ghostbusters Firehouse playset, based on the original playset, as they did with Castle Grayskull last year. But it seems unlikely to happen sadly. If not maybe I'll track down the original on ebay sometime, looks like I might be able to get one for £30 or £40 which isn't too bad. Honestly though, seeing how awesome the new Castle Grayskull is, I'd actually prefer an updated/expanded version, as long as it was based on the design of the original set and in 6-inch scale.
