So out of curiosity, what super powers do Batman and Joker have? I'd say Batman's immense physical strength and superior intellect as superpowers. The guy is an absolute tactician. As for The Joker is just a psychopath with a real bloodlust, so I can see your point there. But I also think he's pretty smart himself, able to outwit Gotham City's grandest detectives and constantly wreck havoc on the city.

Wolverine Batman
Even if a Joker vs Batman final would be interesting to say the least.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a MASSIVE fan of both Joker and Batman, both right there in my 5-10 top favorite characters, but I think what makes them so special is their lack of powers. I know Batman is sensationalized in terms of his recovery and fighting skill, but his lack of super powers and detective acumen is what truly makes him so awesome.

If this doesn't count as "super-powers" I really don't have a clue what does. Also This: Each side weighs 500 lbs, making this lifting feat 1,000 lbs. The world record in weight lifting is just over 1k, and they required a harness to meet that. The world record without the harness is around 700 lbs. Batman is lifting 1,000 lbs without a harness

Read my post above, he's beyond human conditioning.

Good points BFG. Batman definitely fits the "exceptionally skillful and successful" category, in every sense of the word really.
Ultimately, it also depends on what incarnation of the character you're talking about too. Like movie Batman and Joker are very much set inside the human world, and could, technically, exist in everyday life imo.

Bale's trilogy is well written, but it just isn't Batman to me and doesn't really showcase him as a "super-hero." The movies keep his feet grounded really. Everyone in the movies is a watered down more realistic version of themselves.

While I've enjoyed the Batman films so far, I'm still waiting for something to come to life on the big screen that makes me feel the way I do when I read Jeph Loeb Batman stories.

Yeah something Detective wise similar to the Long Halloween would be amazing. Hell the movies aren't really like Scott Snyder's run either. Grant Morrison still remains as my favorite though.

It's Batman, not Nightwing...
And I changed it from "Superhero" to "Superpower" after including anime/TV characters, etc...
Sheesh. No pleasing some people.

I never approached a single selection in this tourney based on powers....it was always about which candidate gave me the most smiles when I was reading a comic/watching a show.
That's why those Dragonball Z asswipes didn't get the steam off my "oh so Irish" piss in the voting respect..

Oh, and for those curious...
Magneto had only 3 votes...
Joker beat Wolverine by ONE vote.

I love them both so much. They really are the yin and the yang. That being said, forced to pick one...
Batman.
