When making a custom ring, how close to the floor should the aprons be? I'm thinking it should be either touching the floor or a couple eights of an inch - half an inch from floor. Any suggestions? ------------------------------------------------------------ Could someone reccomend the best process for making printout belts? Today I got the idea to laminate the "plates" and glue them onto a simulated strap, only I have no idea how you go about getting something laminated. Also, I don't even know if fake leather would be cost effective. I don't want to spend a bunch of money on these things.
If I laminate the "plates",will they get that cruve that the real belts have? If not, is there any way to get that curve?

I'm not sure how much this helps; Wal*Mart used to sell these sheets that were index card size; you could use them to laminate things. I found them in the school/office supplies. No heating needed.

Try contact paper! It works o.k. but a small laminating machine works better. They run about $28.00 though............. To get a curve try bending a J.C. Penny Book over ,with the LAMINATED belt in it, and sticks something beside so it holds, and wait. In 2 or 3 hours you should have a good curve.
Note: sometimes contact paper straightens it's self out after a while, and certian thicknesses of laminating paper for the machine is to thick and won't stay curved once you take it out and if it's too thin it may have the same problem as the contact paper!!!
Hope This Helped!!!

I used packing tape on my printouts then put velcro on each side of the belt, so they would stick.

Hey ... still looking for help. Mostly with the custom belts. Is there anything I can use (other than prinouts or paint) to simulate the snaps on the belt strap?

Do you want something that will actually snap or just the look at the snaps?

I just want something to look like the snaps. I'll be using velcro on the belt itself. I'm just going for the most realistic customs as possible.

Maybe little pieces of fake jewelry from a hobby store or pieces of rolled up foil or paperclips.
