You dont need money to live comfortably. How about you guys try to live off the land, Go live on a nice plot of land you can grow your own food and take care of animals for food later on. Cook over a fire (Im assuming some of you know how to make a fire, if not than youre just lazy.) Im living with no electricity at my house, I go where i can to charge my laptop for entertainment, I cook over a fire, I go hunting and fishing for my food. I grow vegetables and fruits. As for the Ops questions, I am not afraid of getting old. Im going to be 27 in july, and ive never been happier with my life. Im teaching my parents how to live off the land along with my BF and his brother (Who have done this for over 10 years) Getting old is a state of mind. Tried that crapwhen I was 10 playing Oregon Trail...Died from Tuberculosis. that...Ill take electricity!

Ahhh! 22 I remember when I was 22. That was 25 years ago. So I am already old. Especially when I consider 90% of the men in my family never made it past 55 so my cousins and I are approaching that age. But that said I don't think about it. The way I see it is I'll be dead and wouldn't know about it anyway...so what's the point about worrying about it?

In July I'm going 35.From my 25 used to put in two years to settle with the idea that I'm getting old.BS!!!Any time I say my real age in people they tell me:''You kidding me?You look like 25-26 years old!!"You see I'm a babyface.Except that fact no I'm not afraid to be older.I don't want to be an old man that he has lost his mind or a nurse will change my diapers all the day. That really scares me.Friendly advice to all the young members of the board:Don't worry for useless things. The river don't turning back.Nobody knows the future.

Is it just me or has this same thread and topic already been posted in the past and not just reposting it?

I just turned 30 in April and I can tell you now, at 22 years old you are still a kid. Far from grown or being an adult. You can just legally drink. That's all. You will realize this all years from now.

The best thing I can tell you is: Enjoy life to the fullest and never hold back, because you only live once. With that said, taking care of your body and mind is very important, and should make your later years a tad bit easier.

Very. Especially since I'm a child at heart. I can't imagine not having the things that make me, me.

I am more afraid that I won't be able to accomplish my goals by the time I'm older. 31 this year and would love to be 22 again!
Money is always on my mind too, right now I am lucky to have enough but who knows in the future?

Sh*t, I have socks older than you. You can always get older, but you never have to grow up. Part of me is "the responsible adult" who goes to work every day, pays my bills & puts money in the bank. Then there is the other part of me that still goes to amusement parks, comic book shows, watches old cartoons & eats cereal for dinner. You only have a short time on this big blue marble. Have fun while you can! I dig this. People take life too seriously.

In all seriousness, if the world was to have a catastrophic event and all the electricity went down how would anyone survive?

Im older than the OP by 10 years. The only thing I fear about getting older is getting sick. I worry about cholesterol, sugar, blood pressure, aches, pains, spots, and so on.
Of course Death is inevitable. I've thought about death since I was very young. The death of my grandparents made me think a lot about death, what happens, where do we go, is there anything or do we just lay there forever? I can remember as a kid laying in bed at night and just thinking about it for hrs on end.

See i didnt have a choice. Sadly with National Grid being the only power company where i am and they keep hiking up prices (My bill went from $100 during the winter using electronic heaters, to $380 with very minimal use of electronics) the choice was made for us. I feel people are better without electricity and and constant internet. It helps people connect on a better level and grow closer as a family. Ive been without cable for over 8 years and now without electricity we spend more time as a family.
