And it's just sinking in that the GOAT team is officially wiped out of WWE. No, not talking about 3MB. Talking bout THE GATECRASHERS

Its unfortunate that so many had to lose their jobs today. Although I always wondered how WWE was able to keep so many talents on the payroll and not use them at all. Were guys like Hawkins, Yoshi and JTG even at live events let alone TV tapings?
Is the WWE in such financial trouble that they needed to release all these superstars? Or did they realize it made no sense for them to keep paying these guys - especially superstars whose characters were so poorly managed there is no way anyone would take them seriously.

Reks and Hawkins were pretty funny and had some cool moments on that shitshow that was NXT season 5. And I legitimately liked Archer regardless of the Dennis Reynolds and tramp stamp jokes. Hawkins and Archer had potential, too; they were around when the tag division was nonexistent, classic loudmouth [relatively] little guy with big bruiser guy dynamic, and they scored wins over guys like MVP, Matt Hardy, and Christian. Then they lost to fellow Summer 2010 tag team jobbers The DudeBusters. Then, instead of getting a tag title shot, makeshift teams like Drew/Cody and Yoshi/Henry got them instead. Then they got squashed by Big Show in a handicap match. And the rest is history Also, let's not forget the epic 4+ match series between Trent and Hawkins. This is right before 'mania in 2011, and I thought to myself, 'damn, these guys are gonna be stars'... nope. (sorry for French commentary it was either that or English with potato-quality video)

Generally, they were at all TVs and not used. But they were very rarely put on live events. I think JTG probably only wrestled like four times in the last twelve months.

I'm surprised that CM Punk isn't on that list

Between June 12, 2013 and June 12, 2014 he has had two matches. 17 matches in the past 2 years. 69 in the past 3 years. 107 in the past 4 years. Compare JTG's last 4 years to Sheamus' first 7 months of 2013 where he had 100 wins.

I liked Archer too; I never understood all the hate for him. I did my part and brought prominent Gatecrashers, Reks&Hawkins, or Curt Hawkins signs to every single show I've been to since 2010 and I've been to quite a few This is a very sad day… Anyway, glad there are still so many other Hawkins supporters; I hope he does well and gets the recognition he deserves in his post-WWE career.

I don't want Vickie to go! At least if she does leave she will be back later on (at least in guest appearances). She really should be the new 'Damn!' spot or alternate one for big events.

Otunga is safe. He does a lot of PR for the company.
Ryder I'm slightly worried about but he still sells merch decently I'd assume.

Of all the great talent let go, you're upset about Vickie? Sure, she seems like a nice person, but her onscreen character is atrociously bad and a huge waste of valuable time.

Source: PW InsiderWe have heard that Mark Carrano, who works in Talent Relations under Triple H, is the man who made most, if not all, of the calls to the released talent today. It is fair to say that at least some of those let go would have appreciated that the call came from Triple H himself. There is a lot of talk that the cuts/releases are not done and that there will be cuts on the administrative side of the company as well, perhaps as soon as tomorrow. Potential cuts loom across pretty much all departments. The word making the rounds is that the current state of The WWE Network, its success or lack thereof, is what is precipitating cuts both in talent as well as potentially in office staff. That wouldn't bode well for state of the Network base when they release the current subscriber numbers at the second quarter earnings conference call. So it may very well may be that tomorrow continues Black Thursday into Black Friday. I hope Cody Rhodes doesn't get released. He's one of my favorites.
