So we all know WWE are guilty of either rewriting or glossing over vast swathes of history at various times. What do you guys think are some bad examples?
I hated how they ignored Hogan whenever he was gone, like he wasn't one of the biggest ever. Does he even make the top 10 on their greatest ever superstars DVD? I want to say I saw that they put him in the mid-teens or something outrageous like that.

I didn't like how they ignored Triple H and the Undertaker's WrestleMania 17 match during the build for 27 and 28.

I didn't like how they ignored Triple H and the Undertaker's WrestleMania 17 match during the build for 27 and 28. Neither did I.....it annoyed me badly. It also annoyed me how UT vs Lesnar was ignored. and don't get me started on the whole undisputed champion thing recently BTW.....Tidy thread idea Mike.

I didn't like how they ignored Triple H and the Undertaker's WrestleMania 17 match during the build for 27 and 28. I feel almost the same way as you. I guess they chose to ignore it because the back story was Triple H seeking revenge for The Undertaker retiring Shawn Michaels. Not Triple H seeking revenge from his loss at WrestleMania X-Seven.

I remember somebody had the bright idea to turn Eugene heel and it was on one of the B shows like Heat or Velocity.
Anyway, he went after one of the divas (Torrie maybe?) and kept saying "YOURE GONNA KISS ME! YOURE GONNA KISS ME!" It was very strange as the diva was totally freaked out and Eugene wouldn't back off.
Anyway, the next week on Raw it was completely ignored and he was back to picking his nose.

I used to hate in the early 1990's when someone would comeback after a few years away and WWF/Vince would pretend they knew nothing of them. I.R.S was one, former WWF Tag Team champion at Wrestlemania 1 ignored. Colonel Mustafa previously WWF champion Iron Sheik, ignored. Saba Simba formerly Tony Atlas, ignored (until Piper spouted up on commentary), Ricky Steamboat returned in 1991 as just "The Dragon", nevermind he was 1/2 of probably the best technical match in WWF history up to that point (WM3), pretended for a while that he was just some new guy.
I know Vince never used to like advertising that there was "other wrestling" out there, but you would have thought promoting guys like Texas Tornado, Ric Flair, Harley Race, etc as former NWA World Champions would add more prestige to their characters. Baffling

Baffling Yup....Ignoring all the guys that returned was asinine behaviour even for McWrestling. Barry Windham MIke Rotundo Iron Sheik Ricky Steamboat Tony Atlas all former titleholders & ignored. I also used to read PWI and was hugely aware of the other wrestling talent out there and used to be baffled by Vinnies attitude towards them......Especially the Road Warriors. because to "Joe WWF fan" they were rip offs of not only Demolition but the POP too!!!

Carlos Colon entered the 1993 Royal Rumble for his first - and only - WWF in-ring appearance. and they acted like he was a rookie. Hell, even Gorilla Monsoon pointed out about there being "A lot of fight in this youngster!", which to this day elicits laughs from my friends at the way I literally spit beer with that comment, considering colon had been wrestling for decades at that point.

I absolutely hated the time Jerry Lawler said, "I'm positive no one has ever told their opponent in advance that they were cashing in their mitb contract."
It wasn't cool because that was a total lie.
They could've used the fact that Undertaker had never beaten Lesnar to hell put doubt into our mind. But of course they ignored it.
The WM buildup for taker-hhh at mania 27 was frustrating.
Vince is totally right....."hell they don't remember what happened two weeks ago"

On the RVD return promos last year, they showed him winning the WWE Title clean. With no help from Edge. They just completely ingored Edge.

Great thread. Some of these are baffling.
The Taker/HHH one I particularly hate.

Taker/HHH bothered me so much. Mostly because I thought tilt was ridiculous to have a trilogy and never mention it.
Taker/Lesnar shouldn't have been mentioned IMO. It would have made Brock look stronger because he dominated the 02 feud.

What about a few months ago when Stephanie McMahon tried to play it up that when she was little, that The Big Show guided her and looked after her. Almost like since Andre was dead, that Big Show would do.
That has to be the worse one ever!

I remember Hunter actually DID mention their X-7 match with a quick throwaway line to the effect of wrestling Taker in a 'different form' or something. It was on the Raw after either 27 or 28. I don't recall which now.

Big Show wasn't even with the company until 1999 and Steph was a grown woman and on the show herself at that point.

Edge and Christian were brothers when they came in. Then, after Christian returned in 2010, they were best friends. No explanation of this change.
